I don’t know that I’d come all the way here just for the coffee. But if you’re in the Nelson anyway, this is definitely worth a stop.

I showed up early to beat the crowds and get some caffeine before strolling some of my favorite spots in the museum. The chai tasted great and was served at just the right temperature. The barista was polite and efficient. Seating was comfortable and quiet (though I’m guessing it might get noisy later in the day).

I’ll definitely do this again on future visits.

Great service, the barista was very enthusiastic and friendly. He had great recommendations for the folks ahead of me and very open to making customizations. My macchiato was very smooth with a nice touch of bitterness and packed a good caffeine punch. The menu was very elaborate with several house made cold and hot beverages including a assortment of high quality snacks and chocolates.

Had a great experience here. I ordered a hot latte, an iced mocha latte and the Smooth Operator batch brew. The drinks were all perfect. There is a free parking lot just north of the coffee shop and its just a short walk from there. The batista was fun to chat with and gave some local recommendations for antique shops.

Loved my coffee!!! I got caramel iced latte with an extra shot of espresso here. Hands down the best iced coffee I’ve ever had! My husband really loved the coffee too. I didn’t get the barista’s name but he made the flavor of espresso come through without being too bitter or too sweet. Just the perfect balance. I had to compliment him on his skills! He was very nice and polite. We went on May 9th Sunday morning. Would definitely get coffee from here again

Highly recommend the drip coffee! Both Smooth Operator and Wild Child were available, and I thoroughly enjoyed a cup (12 oz., although I probably only need the 8 oz.) of the bright, light roast of Wild Child before seeing museum exhibits.

This shop was really nice! I arrived at the museum for tours with faculty from my art program and immediately clocked the coffee shop and knew I had to try it. After a few hours of walking, i decided to split off and get some coffee. I got a hot latte with 3 pumps of the spice brown sugar syrup and added a couple of sweeteners myself. It was AMAZING! I usually prefer iced or blended coffees but decided to try this one because the person working was really nice. The coffee is fast and delicious and imo very fairly priced. I also appreciate the latte art despite the cup being closed. The effort is great. Will return!

Friendly barista and some seriously good coffee. Espresso sidecar is such a smart item with a shot of espresso with a side macchiato - the best of both worlds.

Best espresso drink I've had in a long time- so well crafted. Very kind staff- they handled the afternoon rush gracefully. Carrot muffin was delicous.

I don't know that they have food anymore but the coffee is still delicious and a nice break from being "in" the galleries. The light is dramatic when you come up the ramp to the Gates of Paradise.

Coffee so good. This is the Woodland. Seasonal spices but not too sweet. Perfect!

Loved the Ever Green Elixir! It made for a refreshing end to our museum visit and kept us warm on the somewhat chilly walk back to our car.
The baristas were great and got orders out quickly, despite the line. I'm so glad we decided to try Thou Mayest! Definitely recommend 🤩👍

Stopped by when in the area with my mother to grab a quick coffee. Excellent quality espresso and the setting in the the back of the art museum was nice. Don't live in KC anymore, but if I did, I would definitely frequent this place.

So many delicious options to choose from: Coffees, teas and baked goods with gluten free options. Even gluten eaters would enjoy them because of the wonderful flavors and textures.
I had a warm chai and gluten free blueberry scone. Both were wonderful treats! I recommend you visit before or after you spend time in the Nelson.
Also, just a nice, relaxed place to meet friends.

Most often I've used this as a minor respite from walking the galleries. Good selection of coffee and tea based drinks. Booth seating and number of small tables

Quay Coffee is a few hundred feet from a KC Streetcar stop. The acme brick exterior stands out with the black, green and cream colored frames around the large picture windows. The acme brick wall continues as the main feature down the right side of the coffee bar where the baristas serve you. The rest of the room is gray. It has a NY loft feel. The walk-in vault with 6 inch steel door is a cool feature. Overall, the place is kind of small, but it does have two larger tables in the back that can handle study groups or work sessions. Otherwise, it's mostly seating for small parties closer to 2-3 people. The employees were genuinely nice. They answered our questions about the tea flavors and methods of preparing the coffee. There were 13 of us, so we kind of overwhelmed the place. They handled it with grace and everyone liked their drink.

What a wonderful space and experience! I ordered an iced latte, which was delicious, and the service was quick even though there was a huge line. I love that it's in the museum and the big windows give a great view of the front lawn.
