Blackhole Bakery

This was my first time visiting, and for sure won't be my last!

I came early on a Saturday and there was a line. It's was moving fast and you can see all of the different pastry. I asked the person behind me their recommendations. They listed off many items and I was thinking of what to order. I came for the Mochi donuts that I heard about.

When I got up to order I spoke to Brent and tool everything in. I was indecisive and apologized I'd I take a little bit. Brent told me that's alright this moment is our Blackhole and take your time.

He gave me recommendations of the cinnamon roll, their mochi donuts, croissants. I had my nieces and sister over this morning so I got an assortment.

We ordered Mochi Donuts they are changed monthy so don't miss out Lemon Poppyseed, Birthday Cake, Blackhole Chocolate, Starwberry & Rhubarb, and Pink Lemonade. They where chewy and delicious each bite was like a pillow.

Crissoants always are a must-have. Everything, Blueberry, Biscuit & Gravy, and Ham and Gruyere. At this point I added a mixture of a Cinnamon Roll, Cosmic Brownie, Ube Cake, Fresh Fruit Puff, Apricot & Pistachio Puff, and a Tomato & Feta Puff.

Thank you Brent and Rowan for all of your help and kindness. Everyone in my house loved them and asked where I went.

I had a lemonade lemonade mochi donut, a spiced pear, chocolate, and a blueberry one. I also had a raspberry, lemon curd pastry, and a cosmic brownie. Everything was tasty. It's a takeout kind of place. The service is lovely. They have bread loafs and coffee and a variety of bottled drinks, too. They tend to sell out earlyish. Be aware!

Awesome find!! Take out only but just unique combinations- try the sausage gravy croissant, the garlic/ Asiago bagel with bacon and jalapeño cream cheese. So many awesome options AND the Mochi Doughnuts are delicious as well of course.

It's like the first time, every time I go! The menu changes often and IT'S ALL GOOD!
Try it! Those mochi donuts are ridiculous.

I've made a dozen visits by now and I still love this place! Tell your friends! Go get some! I'm certain there is an angel or two back in that kitchen.

Finally, we made it here to try their baked goods. We were not disappointed! They are delicious! We tried several different items. One thing to not is that it is carryout only. Which was not an issue.

Attended the Blackhole/Crane Brewing event today. The pairing was excellent!

2nd visit to their storefront location. I love this place! If you thought that there would be no possible way to have a discussion abstnky cheese and anchovies while buying pastries, guess again. The staff here is great! Grab a pastry and head to Willa's to look at books and records!!!

I can't say enough great things about the Blackhole Bakery. Everything is delicious. The mochi donuts are so unique that you can't describe them, they must be eaten to appreciate them. I have never had anything like them. The Cinnamon brioche bread is so delicate! Flaky pastry dough makes everything better. My advice is try everything and get there early. Amazing!

We LOVE Blackhole! Their mochi donuts never disappoint and we love to try all of their more unique pastry flavor options. The staff is always very nice. It can be a little loud sometimes, but only because there is usually a line because they are just that good. Highly recommend waiting for these amazing pastries and bagels. (:

The counter man was very personable and a great conversationalist. The mochi donuts are delish- chewy,dense, moist on the inside and a little crunch on the outside with a delicious icing!

Amazing. Incredible. Croissants are on point, bagel schmears are stupid good, cool Star Wars/space theme inside, friendly and passionate staff. One of THE best bakeries in town. Get there at 8a openings on weekends for their weekly specials. Love this place and visit frequently. Shout out to Roan for being awesome

The staff were all very friendly. That compliments their great pastries. The mochi donuts had a really great texture. My favorite was the hot cocoa and peppermint white chocolate…I would recommend trying them all. They’re easy to eat and aren’t too sweet.

Probably the new best bakery in KC. Everything is great but the savory pastries are some of the best I've ever had. The sweet ones are just as well executed, hitting the perfect balance of sweet-but-not-too-sweet. The sausage gravy croissant is brilliant.

They sell out fast. Very pleasant atmosphere. No room to eat inside. Friendly staff. Tried a Mochi donut for the first time. Liked the different texture and light flavor.

Very cool spot in KCMO! Yummy pastries and unique canned goods for sale as well. Well worth checking out!

I'm going to have to add another 5 star review to this place! We were visiting friends, coming from the UK, and we popped into here one morning. The bakery looked amazing, and smelt even better!

We've never had mochi donuts although our friend loved them, so of course we had to try them. We also grabbed ourselves a freshly baked croissant each. They were all phenomenonal. We would highly recommend this bakery for sure!

This bakery is so amazing! I used to live in Arkansas and every time I would visit Kansas this bakery was in my list of places to go. I've brought everyone here friends family. The pastries are literally out of this world. The only thing I would change is if there location was a bit closer to me now that I moved back to KC so I don't have to drive 22 min away, but it's so worth it. I even changed my days off work because they close Monday Tuesday I believe. Fantastic pastries, wonderful people and atmosphere. I love this place!

I was in KC for a quick business trip and numerous people told me to go here, specifically for the Birthday Cake Croissant. I got there right before closing and the employee was so kind and generous. Just cool vibes. I really appreciated him and am bummed I didn’t snag his name. He was a rad dude. 10/10 recommend going here.

Soccer games ended early and we stumbled upon this hidden gem of a bakery!!!! Oh my goodness absolutely delicious!!! We got a plain and an everything bagel. The outside of both bagels were crunchy and flaky and the inside was delicious and not too doughy. Also they have vio life vegan cream cheese which is always a big bonus in my book. We also got a brioche cinnamon roll (amazing)!!! Some little sweetheart started eating it before we even got home (see picture for evidence). Mochi donuts were delicious. These are doughy and just chewy deliciousness. The flavors for the mochi we tried were strawberry lemonade, chocolate and milk and honey. The sticky bun not only looked amazing but was also sweet sticky perfection. Finally my husband loved the oatmeal cookies without raisins. We live in the Northland but will absolutely be back again!!! It is soooo worth the drive!!!

I am on a never ending quest for great cinnamon rolls. These have earned a solid place in that legacy. These were fresh, fluffy, and moist, with a yummy cream cheese frosting. Sweet and satisfying, but not cloying. Really enjoyed these!
