Came here on the recommendation of a friend.

It's just a short 118 mile drive from our house in Cedar Falls, but who doesn't like a road trip?

We've been to Lansing numerous times and never even gave the local restaurants a second thought.

This was a nice surprise!

The atmosphere was great!

The pizza was great, even though I prefer deep dish!

The folks who run it are great too!

If you come to Lansing, make sure you stop here and eat!

Our expectations were low, but we were taken aback by how delicious the pizza was. It's definitely a gem in the rough. Thanks for the great food and memorable time.

Nice thin crispy crust pizza. Great selection of draft beer. The Dorothy was a nice pale ale with a smooth taste. Very nice and accommodating staff. Cozy old time atmosphere. We visit the area a couple times a year and will be sure to stop back. Thanks for a great dining experience.

This has been a favorite place of ours to go to for several years. Awesome pizza! The Angry Chicken is just spicy enough! We ordered the Combination Platter appetizer, a 12" Angry Chicken, and a 16" Cheese with Extra Cheese for the six of us and we had leftover pizza to bring home. Cheese curds and onion rings taste like regular food service fare, nothing special. Save your money and get one of their worldwide beers on their amazing beer list. Prices are reasonable for awesome craft pizza. Very cool place. We'll be back for sure!

The food was great. A must get is the pesto Bruchetta! We are from out of town but would definitely recommend this The Safe House Saloon to anyone coming this way!

Great place, amazing food and great service. The atmosphere is awesome. Clean bathrooms. Kosher pig and spicy tatonka pizza with crab cakes... amazing.

First thing first....I've had lots of wings in my 52 years and these were by far, hands down, the best wings I've ever had. Perfectly crispy, well seasoned and the sauces were great. Pizza was very good and the beer selection was great for a small town. 5 stars for the place....6 stars for the wings.

This was our first time visiting here. The bar and seating has a speakeasy feel to it which is so cool! Unlike anywhere else I've been in northeast Iowa. We were seated promptly which is not the norm for this place. The waitress took our drink order then brought our drinks and took our food order. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food which I didn't think was horrible in a packed restaurant that usually has an hour wait for a table. No one came to refill our drinks so my husband went up to the bar to get refills. The drinks were fantastic by the way! There were 4 of us and 3 of us ordered wings, my husband ordered a pizza with Italian sausage. He said he loved it. I tried a little bite and I didn't care for it but that's okay we don't all like the same things. The wings were good except they switched up our orders, I ordered mild and our friends ordered medium. Somehow I wound up with medium 🔥 and they got the mild. It worked out because we didn't figure it out until we shared across the table. The wings were very good with just the right amount of sauce on them. Our friends ordered fries and deep fried cheese curds. They were huge portions and none of us could finish all of it. Our bill was very reasonable, $90 and we all had either 2 mixed drinks or 2 craft beers and quite generous portions. Over all there were a few imperfections but I have found that being patient with wait staff and with food waits gets us much farther. I think if we had complained they would've apologized and tried to make it up to us. I really can't complain though. If I did the only thing was the women's toilet wasn't flushing but there was no line at the men's room so we all took turns. We had a great experience over all.

Great pizzas! They have so many unique flavors to choose from- delicious. Great beers!! Holy cow- if you're looking for some interesting beers, seltzers, bocs, ipas, etc this is the joint!!!!!!

Chicken wings were big, meaty, and tasty. The habenero sauce gave them just enough bite to raise a slight sweat on my scalp. The pizza is always good, and if you don't see the combo you like, ask nicely and changes might be accommodated. King Sue IPA from Toppling Goliath was on tap--not cheap, but tasty.

Can't say enough about this place. Great pizzas. Best in the area. Excellent selection of craft beers on tap. But best of all is the service. Nick and his crew are always so friendly and welcoming. It's nice to be in a comfortable place around appreciative people.

Has to be my favorite place for food and drinks! Appetizers are great, pizzas are amazing and beer selection is the best around. Can't go wrong visiting the Safe House!

Such a fun place to grab a bite! Staff is friendly, food is excellent, and it felt homey. They even have a wide array of vegetarian options!

By far one of my favorite places, this little gem is a rare small town find in Lansing Iowa right along the Mississippi River. If you appreciate a truly "good" pizza this is the place for you. If you're a beer geek and enjoy finding some small batch bottles, then brace yourself. The staff is always happy to see you and quick on their feet. Throughout COIVD we have limited where we go but due to how this place handles things it makes us very comfortable getting take out and browsing the beer collection while we are there. The tap selection always has a nice variety of beers, with growlers to go only make it better. The atmosphere is that of on old Salon from the moment you walk through the old bank door. Next time you're traveling along the Mississippi river and you're in the area, make sure this is one of your resting spots or destination.

Everything was great. Came for bloodys and was surprised to find a great selection of craft beers. Who would have thought a small town would have a place like this. The pizza menu was amazing and tasted great. We got 4 different unique 9 inch pizzas. The bartender (owner) and cook (his mom) were great to talk to. Music was good and fit the mood of the place. Will be back if in the area.

One of the best beer lists in NE, IA. Great specialty pizzas, wings and other appetizers.

Wow, wasn’t expecting to find a gem like this in Lansing. Stopped in during the Mornin’ Delight pre release and on our way to TG the following day. Craft beer options are fantastic, so many hard to find beers in one place. Food was great also, liked it so much we made our way back then next day on our way home!

Very good pizza and great beer selection

Great craft beer selection both on tap and in the bottle. They have some very interesting/unusually combinations for toppings that come together really well. Very tasty.
