Driftless Area Inn

Off the beaten path, this cozy event center/inn is a great place to spend the night or week. We stayed in unit #1 which has a good sized kitchen, TV area, and large sleeping area. There are not separate bedrooms, but the TV area is separated from the sleeping area by curtains. Lots of windows to view the abundant wild life. Or sit on the screened porch to enjoy your morning coffee. We definitely plan on a return visit to spend a few days fishing and exploring. Thank you for a restful and enjoyable stay.

What a beautiful, spacious Inn! Had an incredible weekend here with a large group and couldn't have had a better time. Rooms were comfortable and well-appointed, kitchen was large and great for cooking with friends. Absolutely loved the screened in porch. The surrounding area of Lansing is beautiful to boot. Cannot wait to return to this magical, special place.

Spacious, warm, welcoming... an absolutely beautiful place with owner ready to help with anything you might need, but we needed nothing because everything was perfect! We had sixteen people staying for a 3-day retreat, and at the end, no one wanted to leave.

This place provided the perfect home away from home! S'mores around the fire pit, falling asleep to the sound of rain on the tin roof of the cabin, greeting the cows every morning, cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, good water pressure :) A very comfortable and rejuvenating weekend. Can't wait to come back!

Just leaving our weekend stay at the Driftless Area Inn, and can happily say we will be back. Super family friendly. Can accommodate so many people under one roof, while still providing private sanctuary for retreat at night. We were able to find all of the little items we forgot at home, and the outdoor scenery is second to none. Great destination for any disc golf lovers.

The Driftless Area Inn is a jewel in an already beautiful part of the Midwest. I was fortunate enough to spend a few days here for a retreat. Not only did the included amenities provide for all of the creature comforts one would expect to help a person unwind from busy city life (a fire pit, BBQ, table tennis, basketball, foosball, yoga, stocked kitchen, etc.), the proprietors have even provided the delightfully unexpected i.e. a nine-hole disc golf course! There is ample space for a large family gathering or even a small corporate retreat. The inn itself has several rooms and suites, but there are smaller cabins on the grounds for additional privacy and capacity. The town of Lansing, Iowa is a short walk away with many kind locals and delicious Americana cuisine - Skinny Dip Ice Cream is a must-not-miss! Nature hikes and gorgeous views of the mighty Mississippi River are easily accessible. I would give the Driftless Area Inn TEN stars if I could.

Had such a fun experience with our extended family - 5 households, being able to stay under one roof. Super family friendly and very close to our events in town. You can tell the owners put a lot of love and attention into their property.

An awesome oasis away from the world! Stayed here for a writers retreat and had the best time being in the beautiful nature, exploring the town, and staying in this gorgeous space! Would absolutely recommend to anyway looking for a quick getaway or extended stay.

Such a wonderful place to relax and be creative. Big enough for larger groups to stay comfortably and plenty of kitchen space to cook for a large group. I already miss sitting on the screened in porch drinking my coffee and watching the calves play. I can't wait to come back. It was idyllic.

Our home away from home! One of the nicest little hidden gems in the Lansing area. The caretakers are awesome people and very helpful. Always a nice and quiet getaway and fun no matter what time of year. If you are looking for a nice place to stay and relax I highly recommend this place!

A very comfortable inn that's even more spacious than it looks from the outside. Owners have clearly thought of everything to keep their guests happy. Remote enough that you feel like you've got your own private slice of the world, but close enough to town that you can pop in quickly if you need anything. Can't wait to stay again.

I can't wait to go back to Driftless Inn! The accommodations were so luxurious and the space itself was a dream to relax in. I loved exploring Lansing as well as hanging out and enjoying the beautiful weather at the inn. I can't recommend Driftless Inn enough!

What a fantastic place to get away to on the Mississippi. Dreamy hills, cows nearby, wonderful accommodations, as well as wonderful hosts. Stay here.
