I avoided making this call for months. Today I had the opportunity to speak with Orlando and Evon regarding a sales and use tax permit. I can't believe I'm saying this but they were both a pleasure and helpful. Possibly the last year taught all of use to be a little more patient and understanding. Thanks again for a pleasant call

After receiving Form CT-W4P and being totally confused about how to complete the form, I called the CT Department of Revenue Services and asked for help. I spoke with Mike and he was the most helpful and polite person I could have possibly ever asked for. He went through all of my numbers for me and helped me understand and fill out the form. I truly appreciate the help that I received.

I phoned in on a business matter, the hold time was very short - a minute or two and the individual was very helpful and stay on the phone with me to walk me all the way through the process. Easy State to interact with.

Had the most pleasant experience! There was a mixup with all the covid stuff going on but had the best csa and my issue was resolved quickly! Gary was very helpful. Probably the best government phone call experience I've had!

Everyone’ experience is different here I just got lucky with a fast past worker who made sure my money was granted to me in a timely fashion

Call them for help! They are so helpful for any obscure or silly question you have about the confusing tax process.

Who ever created the new CT-W4P, should be elected Governor. The form is the most confusing useless document i have encountered in 37 years of tax practice. It is four pages of complete nonsense the only informs you that you cannot have a specific amount withheld. YOu must sift through stupidity, when in reality you could take your tax from 2016 divide by 12 and put it on the CT-W4P like in past years. Not only that it does not provide you with any information showing what would be withheld when applying the alphabet to a numerical equation. So after picking the highest withheld you still may be under withheld and you will not know it until January and may then have to fill out another form. THE PETER PRINCIPLE IS DEFINED WITH THE NEW CT-W4P

This is by far the worst organization I’ve ever dealt with. You’re so quick to write claims and collect but when it comes time to refund people everyone is mute. This is the most corrupt scheme I’ve ever seen. My tax refund is late I call and you give me the run around for weeks and say someone messed something up. No real answer, reassure me the it’s been processed and I’ll be receiving my refund. My refund is no where to be found a week later and now you’re dodging my calls.

Incompetent and totally unaccountable... As others have experienced, the tax capital of Connecticut is free to take money (erroneously, as admitted by the department) without right from non-Connecticut residents. Best outcome: after jumping through their hoops, you may get your (stolen) money back...just don't expect them to cough up any money for the costs and/or fees incurred due to their error. Definitely not deserving of the "fairness" and "public confidence" in their mission statement.

Not user friendly. The website is confusing for elderly people who have no computer skills. The letters they send to people does not indicate that you need permission to access the myconnect website. Absolutely shameful! To get someone to help or speak to a customer service reppresentive is IMPOSSIBLE.

Keep getting notices that state I owe money for a business that was closed. The notice says if this is an error please contact ......
I've called several times over the past few months and they never pick up. I've left a voicemail every time and they never call back either. have some integrity to do your job and assist the citizens please

I am a small business owner . I filed my sales taxes every month on time and pay directly. When I was selling my business they hold my $59k as an escrow and they did the audit . They will try to find every little mistake and charge you penalty and interest which cost me 50 times more than I owe. They sent me $11k refund out of $59k. When I hired an expert accountant he charged me more than the refund I got. What a way to get small business owner’a money. It’s a rigged system. I filed a protest and I can’t even talk to them . It’s always goes to voice mail and they don’t return the call and I messaged them through the website they don’t reply. I can’t even get an update on the protest. It’s bad .
