Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care

Sadly, I had to bury my husband in 2020 and my 99-yr-old mother recently, in February 2024. Both times, we used the sevices of Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care. They were wonderful.
The facility is gorgeous and first-class. They have two large, multi-tiered shelf units where you can display photos and other momentos that were special to your loved one. Many of the people who came to the viewing commented on what a nice touch that was and how it added so much meaning to the visitation, along with the digital slide show presentation, which they facilitated. The large water feature is unique, peaceful, and soothing. You can even have them order the flowers for you, saving a trip to the florist at such a stressful, busy time.
Sandy, April, and Sydney were so caring and professional during such a difficult period, and, despite there being so many details to attend to, everything went smoothly and seamlessly. I would definitely recommend Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care.

Unfortunately on Valentines Day 2024 my wife passed away from complications from pancreatic cancer. While this was expected due to the terminal diagnosis, it was still a daunting experience. Her wishes were to be cremated only, no service, no viewing which I totally respected. The question to me was where. I am familiar with the larger, mainstay mortuaries but to me that was not her. I did an internet search and found Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care and was impressed with the positive reviews and website and clearly could see what they offered was an excellent fit for what I was looking for. I met with Abby who was kind, compassionate, and empathic and she explained the process end to end. They handled everything I needed with this part of the logistics of the cremation, communicated the progress and I could not ask for more from them. If you lose a family member and need funeral services I suggest you give them a call and discuss their offerings and I think you will not be disappointed.

I was completely unfamiliar with the cremation/burial procedure. Sandy Duke and her team walked me through the process with kindness and compassion, making everything as easy as possible upon the death of my mother; nor did they attempt to upsell any services or products at a vulnerable time. My experience with Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care was exceptional. April and her team are very compassionate and professional; they make you feel comfortable just like family, and there is no sales pressure. The facility is beautifully designed and decorated, including little details that make a difficult time for a family less stressful. The facility is handicapped accessible with ample parking. The floor-to-ceiling waterfall on a glass wall provides a very calm and peaceful setting. I applaud this women-owned business and am happy to support such a kind and hardworking group. She kept me up to date on the process and made sure my mom was taken care of with dignity. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Having the children's room and private family space was much appreciated. April was absolutely amazing and made sure everything went smoothly as possible so that we wouldn’t have to worry about anything especially since we are from out of town. From my initial inquiry to contact them to discuss services, to responding to emails, to meeting at the funeral home (which is a very nice facility)... every element was professional, caring, and as promised. I recently lost my Dad and my Mom, Sister and I chose Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care. From the minute we spoke to Sandi, who was warm, compassionate and very professional organized, we knew we made the best choice. Their communication was outstanding and they covered the details that hadn't crossed our minds. The funeral was perfect. Everything my Dad had wished for was completed. He was a Vet and members of the Navy came played taps and folded the flag and presented it to my Mom. April, who led us throughout the day, was extremely clear in her directions to the pall bearers and to the funeral attendees about what was happening at all times. I worked with April Hoffman @the Steubenville location, and she made a very difficult time more bearable because of her kindness, efficiency and gentle demeanor. My husband and I met with a couple of funeral homes to discuss our final arrangements but we put it off until we met with Pittsburgh Cremation in Robinson. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who chatted with us before our scheduled meeting with Mark Bailey. Mark is the expert who guided us through all of the costs in detail, he answered all of our questions and made it very easy for us to make our decisions and to put it all into their hands. My sister and I had to cope with our oldest sister's death and it seemed overwhelming until we visited April and Sandy AT PITTSBURGH CREMATION AND FUNERAL CARE. The inside is beautiful and calming and April and Sandy were wonderful and kind. The prices were remarkably reasonable.
