My dad used to play Lakeside front 9 as a kid with his dad (my grandpa) who passed away when I was little. My dad and I were finally able to make it out there to play the 9 that my dad and his dad used to play together when my dad was a child. I made the booking/tee time 7 days in advance and it turned out there was a company tourney the same day as our t time so we were informed we could play woodside but probably not lakeside. We also stayed at the bed and breakfast the night before which was super convenient. The morning of our tee time we showed up an hour and a half early and explained why we were there. Rico immediately allowed us out on the course ahead of the tourney that didn’t start till 10. So we were able to play lake side front 9 together completely by ourselves. It was a super special moment for myself and even my dad later admitted how cool it was, every hole my dad had a different story about him and his dad on this course. We both played decent but it didn’t matter. Coolest experience I’ve ever had on a course anywhere. Rico showed us how much he and the course cared and took care of us when he didn’t have too. It’s really cool to see that in the industry still. I will be booking multiple trips back here with friends and staying at the bed and breakfast on the course. My dad and myself will return as well. This course earned my future business for YEARS to come by taking the time to take care of us. Course showed us everything the golf industry should be.
I only took one picture that dad because I was so wrapped up in the moment. Course was beautiful and in tip top shape too.

36 holes, good condition course, bunkers need a bit more sand, but not in bad shape. Nice clubhouse, and decent adjacent grill/bar
Good electric carts. Love the easy layout, but challenging course

Played Lakeaide. A great value course with some excellent views. The 18th is a signature looking hole. The course is challenging, but plenty of chances to scores. Greens were in decent shape. Some bunkers were not playable.

Played the Woodside course today and I thought it was in very nice shape! Fairways were great. Really impressed with the greens. Will definitely be back!

I recently played in an outing at Butlers, i wasn't looking forward to it since I used to live in Pittsburgh and occasionally play there. The condition was always questionable often poor. WHAT A GREAT SURPRISE, the place was in magnificent condition the greens and fairways were just outstanding (tee boxes were a bit beat up but it is a public course and you use a tee anyway) I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a pleasant round of golf. Additionally the staff could not have been friendly and courteous.

We played on a Saturday around 1:30. Everyone from the young lady in the Pro Shop to the lady running the snack shop at the turn were very friendly. The gentleman in charge of the golf carts gave us very helpful information since it was our first time there.

We played the Woods course and it was in very good shape considering all the rain they had the past few days. The course was a bit forgiving with wide fairways on the front 9. The back nine was a little tighter but it was still very manageable. The greens were quick but not like putting on a pool table.

All-in-all it was a very good experience and look forward to going out again.

Normally you don't expect much off season at a golf restaurant. The menu isn't that expansive but what they have is tasty.

Server Amanda just added to the experience and made my day!

If you are in the area, stop by. I think you will be impressed.

My sister and I had a golf outing for her husband benefiting Esophageal Cancer Research at Butler's Golf Course (Woodside) and Rock Run Inn on August 20, 2016. Helen Bergman was great to work with. She answered all of our questions. (We had a lot of them).
Bryon and Tom were very helpful. They were there with us guiding us all along in the right direction. The carts and leader board was all set up when we arrived at the course. They even helped us unload our vehicles.
The banquet room was set up to all of our needs. The volunteers needed another table within five minutes it was there. The food was delicious. The banquet room was clean. Sonny and his staff at the banquet room could not have been any friendlier.
Our volunteers were thrilled with the air-conditioned room.
The Butler staff was very helpful and considerate to our volunteers.
All in all our first experience with Butler's and Rock Run Inn was exceptional.
We can't wait for our outing next year.

We had a Charity Golf Outing at Butler's which was a huge success. Tom and his staff couldn't be more gracious and helpful. The staff was very accomodating with last minute seating assignments and request. They even allowed Buffalo Wild Wings to bring wings on one of the golf holes. They constantly were on the course to make sure our event went like clockwork and everything was perfect. Highly recommend having golf outings at this course. They take so much of the work from the golf host and put it on their shoulders. Terrific people to deal with.

Butler's Golf Course is my favorite course and I play here at least a dozen times per year. There are 36 beautiful and enjoyable holes, especially the Lakeside back nine. Lakeside #18 (driving over the lake) is my favorite hole I've played. The rates are very competitive, especially if you play later in the day and/or get a Birdie Card (which I would recommend if you play here more than twice a year). I almost always have a meal as well when I play there. The food is great and the staff is always very friendly. I've also taken lessons with Colby and I couldn't be happier with them. All in all, I can't say enough good things about Butler's.

I am in charge of planning our annual McKeesport Daily News employee golf scramble. Seven out of eight years, we have held the event at Butler's and it is well worth it. They make everything so easy to set up the event with all of the details involved. Most of the planning was done over emails. We have our after-golf dinner there as well, and the food was tremendous. We range from 16 to 24 golfers each time and I never receive a single complaint. Thanks Butler's for another successful day. I highly recommend your next event at Butler's and Rock Run Inn.

I played this course two times this week. My wife took a lesson while I played the Lakeside course. Then we went back with our son for a group lesson and a round at Woodside. We had a blast. We took lessons from Colby Carr. He did a great job working with all of our needs. We are looking forward to visiting again and enjoying some late Fall golfing.

We hosed my sisters baby shower here and it was perfect. The staff were super friendly, the food was perfect, and the size was just what we needed for how many guests we had. I highly recommend it for any type of catered event.

This is one of the best public courses in the area! The fairways and greens are all kept in excellent condition and with 36 holes, you never get tired of going! Also, I seem to find golf balls in the fairway if I go early in the morning. Im thinking the staff throws them out there on occasion to kind of "give back" to the golfers. 5 stars!!

Honestly one of the better 36 public hole courses in the area. They are well maintained throughout the year, barring a catastrophic storm of course. The bar/restaurant has good food and beer and the staff is friendly.

This was our first year at Butler's Golf Course for our annual Elizabeth Forward Cheerleader Golf Fundraiser. All I can say is that everything was organized perfectly and they truly went out of their way to make our event successful. The food was wonderful A+++. We are definitely having our event at Butler's for years to come.

It had been a few years since I played Butler's last. New management team has the course in fantastic shape. Will be coming back for sure.
