The Mad Raven Coffee & Books

A friend & I met at The Mad Raven for a quick bite & some book shopping and I am *obsessed*! Cannot wait to go back - the food options were limited but ONLY because they are so popular and we went later than normal! The food I did have was DELICIOUS and the coffee options were so good! We had our kids with us and they were SO excited about the kids books - you can NOT beat the pricing and it was just the coolest place! Can't wait to bring my laptop, my appetite and my TBR list and visit again!

Coffee was delicious, had cool drinks for the kids and adventurers. Books were greatly priced and just an awesome vibe. The owner was sweet and put up with my corniness. They also have an awesome American Flag fridge so bonus points for being a patriot business owner.

I love this shop! I had a nice Panini sandwich and a little friendly conversation but sadly they didn't have the book I was looking for.

We love this little bookstore! The decor and atmosphere is very relaxed and fun. They have great little raven or spooky themed decorations all throughout the store, and several other geeky pop-culture items. They have delicious drinks and snacks and, of course, lots of books. This is my favorite place to visit whenever I am in the area. And it is a must-visit for any local Edgar Allan Poe fan.

Finally! I was in town and finally got to try their food and let me just say...it was delicious! (I had the Italian quesadilla, creamy pasta salad and pecan pie) The actual store is quaint and both ladies were super nice! I hope to eat there again soon!

Really neat gem tucked away. There's a small road next to it that leads to a back parking area that exits on another street, there is also street parking. Great atmosphere inside with lots of vintage and somewhat newer books on the shelves. They do a book trade in so they get an eclectic stock of books. Very cozy interior, but one that if you keep looking around, you'll notice something different each time.

We went there for the first time and it was awesome. The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. The coffee was amazing!

This is my all time favorite place in Sparta. They have the best food hands ✋ down and the best service. The food is homemade from even the sauces used to the recipe itself homemade...even the deserts. You can't find that around here anymore. I love it so much I eat here daily literally if they open im there. I even love their frappes which are better than Starbucks....yes better then Starbucks I said it. Not only are their fraps good but their tea off the chain and so is their slushies and smoothies. Im can't express how awesome everything is and if you don't believe me then see for yourself. I love how they have a special each day and post it on Facebook the night before so you know what to expect. I could keep going on about how great it is so go see for yourself. The people are great and their service is great 👍 they always on their A game. You don't see that anymore but you do here.

Mad Raven is my favorite local spot hands down. Amanda is a great chef, her daily specials almost always sell out so follow their facebook to make sure your order gets in early! They have a great and affordable drinks menu and a big variety of used books. I only wish they were open a bit more but I respect their choices!

I loved it! Had the Bone Shaker coffee, my husband had the butter beer and very nice folks!

For anyone visiting Sparta, I encourage you to stop at this cute little bookstore. They offer delicious foods and even offer a daily special. They have coffee and other drinks on the menu as well. (Definitely recommend the mocha frappe) it is just what I would image a small town bookstore being. It definitely doesn’t disappoint.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and just plain cool. There's a good selection of used books. The Italian sodas are awesome, and they often do speciality flavors. They make a delicious Cuban sandwich.

I love the Mad Raven! The owner, Amanda Billings has the best food in town! All of the Mad Raven’s specialty coffees are the best I’ve ever had from anywhere! Great bookstore too! Very clean and cozy business!

Great service and delicious everything! Hit them up for a wonderful lunch, get together's, and for much needed coffee breaks! They have a great book selection as well. Shop locally and support family owned businesses! If you go there once...you will go back☕📖🥙👍

I am visiting relatives here in Sparta and my Mother in Law told me about this place over our morning cup of coffee. Talk about a selection! This little nook impressed me so much. They also have food and are a coffee shop. I will be returning to this store every trip I make down here! And the staff are very sweet!

Cozy atmosphere; excellent, friendly service; and great prices on both drinks and books. My overall experience at The Mad Raven was positive, and I enjoyed my visit. I will most certainly be a returning customer and recommend this business to other coffee/tea and book enthusiasts. I look forward to seeing this business grow.

Great sandwiches and beverages. The used books are decently priced and the staff is wonderful. It is very comfortable and cozy and there are different events planned nightly! Make sure to ask what the drink of the day is when visiting.

Took my grands there for a craft class. They had fun. My husband and I both had delicious hot drinks while waiting for the kids. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. We will go back again.
