88 At the Elms

My sister and I stayed at the elms and dined at 88 for dinner and then had room service breakfast from the restaurant. Everything we ate was delicious. The bacon wrapped dates appetizer was so good, we loved the fried chicken and the pork dish. Dessert is not to be missed! The blueberry cobbler and key lime pie cheesecake were both outstanding!

Breakfast was great, ordered avocado benedict. Family had buffet. Gluten free options.

Typically, one doesn't expect much from a hotel restaurant, but 88 at the Elms was extraordinary. Breakfast was great! Dinner was flat out fantastic! My chop was exquisitely tender and flavorful. The Chef's risotto was absolutely perfect. The sticky toffee pudding really made dinner memorable. Five Stars 🌟

I have been here each time I stay at The Elms. It is every bit a part of experiencing a stay at The Elms, as enjoying the Spa or Lap Pool. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is unique to The Elms and nestles itself quite well right off the main lobby. The charm is unparalleled with the rich dark wood from a bygone era mingled with bright and modern furnishings.

The centerpiece is the fireplace, which oversees the restaurant as it has for many decades. It is a beautiful piece, and brings that one of a kind warmth to the 88.

Equally as prominent as the decor, are the Staff who bring the soul of the restaurant to life. These folks are exceptionally good at what they do, and their personalities shine. I have to give special recognition to Sydney, Nathan, and Pamela. They took the time to get to know me and my wife during our stay at The Elms. It was the attention to detail and efforts to go above and beyond my expectations that left me speechless.

The food... is 5/5. We got exactly what we wanted, and even on the following day I had a special request to be sent up to my room, which unbelievably they accommodated, even tho it was not on the menu!!

Whilst not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, you are paying not just for the food, but for the entire experience. And sometimes, it's more than worth to have the creme de la creme no matter the price in the menu.

To experience The Elms without eating at the 88, would be almost heresy.

Highly recommended, and again a special hat tip to the Staff.

Amazing! It seems like its hit or miss sometimes, but our meals were definitely a hit! Our waitress was wonderful, and our martinis were too notch too. Our food was perfectly cooked, and service was fast. It would be easy for a hotel restaurant to let their guard down on a Sunday night, but this place did not.

The food was delicious and the service from Julian, our waiter, was excellent! We sat outside and it was cool and breezy.
The landscaping at the Elms is beautiful! Had a very enjoyable lunch!

My Husband son and I spent the weekend at The Elms. We went to the 88 Bar where we met Calvin the Bartender. He was a fantastic bartender!! He was knowledgeable, hard working and fast!! I don’t drink but I got a dessert with ice cream the first time we went, my husband got a beer. Calvin was so sweet and attentive, even gave me the ice cream!!
Later that evening we went back and got a burger and fries!! It was delicious!! The Bar was very busy but Calvin was great. He knows what he’s doing!! I highly recommend the Bar and the food at the Bar. Thank you Calvin for such a great time!!

The ribeye was beyond amazing. Cooked perfectly. The mashed potatoes were super yum as well. We asked for honey for the bread & butter-- they didn't have honey but they had agave. Holy cow. Amazing. Def ask for that to mix if you like honey butter.

Just stayed here over the weekend and after reading the reviews I was a little worried to try it. But we were so impressed with the food it was absolutely delicious. We went for lunch and it was so good we went again for dinner. The only thing I would say is that the dinner portion sizes should be just a bit bigger for the price. But the flavor was spot on!!

Wonderful evening. Prime rib was excellent. Asparagus tender and buttery. Sydney was the most attentive server. Highly recommend 88 at the Elms.

I just had the best experience ever at 88 at the elms. We're staying at the elms and checked in around 5 pm. We did not think they'd be very busy so we didn't even think about a reservation. We were wrong. They were very busy. Diamond and Amanda were able to get us a table and ensured our experience was perfect. Thank you for saving our evening! We will definately recommend this place to others. Oh, and the food was awsome.

The food was absolutely amazing as well as the drinks ..definitely not cheap but worth it for sure!! Had the 14 oz Ribeye, cooked to perfection!! Will return again someday!!

The ribeye steak and pork shoulder we're both delicious. I'd been accustomed to eating very thick cuts of ribeye, but they prepare a thinner cut. I generally take mine medium rare, which they did very well in the thinner cut.

We had the ribeye and filet....better than any high-end steak house we have been to recently. Nice setting in Excelsior Springs. Would definitely recommend.

One of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Michael was very fast and attentive. I highly recommend the Lamb Shank!

The waitress we had was great, the food was awesome, they make it per order very very good!!!

Live life with no regrets! When it comes to this place all the way around I'm never disappointed! Always a pleasurable experience and would highly recommend stopping in for a night if you ever get in the area, and there is a room available!!

What a wonderful menu. The atmosphere is relaxing and eclectic. My meal was hot and delicious with a delightful wait person. Highly recommended.

The food and drinks were great. Service ask pretty good. Depending on the situation may eat here again before I go home.
