Tyndall AFB FamCamp

Tyndall was full of activity since it is still under construction from the hurricane a few years ago. Home to training bomber pilots. The Sound of Freedom could be heard all day!

I went inside to introduce myself regarding my place of employment. The people in the office were very friendly.I passed the office and seen the area, it was very well kept, seemed like a quiet and peaceful place to stay. Thanks to the people in office again! Kindness goes a long way!!

A quiet spot with shade and space between campsites. Cable tv worked well with a large selection of available channels. The clubhouse was exceptional with wifi, kitchen, several tables, two tvs, board games, book, ping pong, a pool table, and kids play area.

My daughter recently moved to Panama City and needed a place to stay until her house was ready. She and my wife stayed at the Tyndall AFB FamCamp for nearly two weeks and had the best time of their lives.

The location was perfect for her getting back and forth to work and very convenient to most amenities; grocery stores, the beach. restaurants and medical facilities if needed.

The living facilities were great; clean, well stocked with necessities, friendly neighbors and a great view of wildlife.

I want to thank Diane and the Tyndall AFB FamCamp Staff for the wonderful Customer Service, super Attitude and the genuine Professionalism displayed in their jobs and for taking care of my family. Thank You!

Nice staff. Excellent camp host. He was ready for our arrival and gave us directions to our site. If In the area again, I will go back.

We absolutely love it here. Beautifully maintained and so quiet. Police patrol nightly for added security. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

We visited during mid December 2021. It was a nice break from the chilly weather in N.C. Surprisingly, a few cabins were available. The cabin price was $100 per night which is very reasonable for a military facility. I wish the cabins were pet friendly. Also the cabins do have pillows. I would advise you to take a few pillow cases per person due to the "new" germs in air. Mike was very helpful in making our stay enjoyable...

Love this place. The guys that run the park are outstanding and you couldn't ask for better customer service. They are very accommodating. The rec center and laundry facilities are well kept and a nice place to go hang out. Shower facilities in the center are clean and a nice area to use. The beach is close by and so beautiful to watch the sunsets there. You even see dolphins from time to time and lots of hermit crabs for the kids to catch. Great stopping place and also for long term stays as well.

We called and no one picked up but the answering machine said the Famcamp is at 50% capacity. We showed up and host said office is closed but there are spots available. We stayed one night. No WiFi. Rec center has tons of entertainment. Laundry is $2-$2.50. There are signs to beware of bear. We didn't get to see one. It was pricey. $50.

This was a great find after having to cancel our trip due to Hurricane Ida. This was a good time to relax and enjoy the quiet. Campground was very well kept and clean, even though still recovering from Hurricane Michael. Pavilion was a fun place to kick back and play some pool and ping pong. Everyone was so friendly. Thank you and kudos to the team who runs the FamCamp!

I wanted to post even though we haven't stayed yet. My wife and I are now full time RV and I do extensive research before booking any area. I just booked this Famcamp for Mar 4, 2023 a month.
I am posting because I'm taken aback by complaints posted here on cost by many here. You obviously have done ZERO comparison. I booked the month for $800 there daily is $50.
BUT all the parks at Panama City or area are $1800-$2300/mth.
The FamCamp and Niceville about 90 miles east is $40/night or $1200/mth, it has 8 spots full hookups and no other facilities. NONE of these other places are on the gulf itself or beaches.
Currently we are on the gulf Beach at Galviston TX at $800 with some here up to $1400/ mth.
So, before you complain check where you are at, facilities, and comparable prices. For Panama City this is a SUPER SWEET DEAL.

Still cleaning up from the hurricane 🌀 3 years ago. All power, water and sewer is back in place. Still some underground work taking place as you enter the park.
Several long term people were displaced from their basehousing but will moving out soon.
Mike, the manager, goes above and beyond to help you with directions and ensuring you have a pleasant stay.

I visited the Airforce Base for the first time with a friend who was a Military Airman. I enjoyed my visit and had lunch in the cafeteria. The employees there were quite polite and caring. Got good service.

Very level spots for the RVs!!! Clean, spacious with lots of vegetation all around the spots. Covered picnic tables are nice. Another nice touch is the benches & swings placed all along the water. 25 cent laundry machines. They even sell propane here. We would definitely return.

Great place to relax. Well kept spaces. Concrete pads are on the smaller side but very level and sites have plenty of extra room. Quiet community with several long timers. Very friendly area. Dog friendly. No campfires allowed but still a great place to visit. Tyndall beach access is just a short drive down the road on base.

We were treated as family before we even reached the Tyndall AFB FAM camp. Because we were arriving late they gave us the shower room pass code and our site number and directions to the site since it would be after dark. Mike and Joni are extremely professional and go way beyond the job requirements. We have all over the U.S. and have never met such professionalism. You are blessed to have them.

This place was our saving grace after the hurricane. We were able to get a lot at a reasonable price and stay until our house was ready. Mike in the office and Robert the groundskeeper were always available to take care of what you needed.

We stayed 2 weeks and enjoyed the low rates and proximity to Panama Beach attractions. Fighters from the AFB were pretty noisy at times, but that is to be expected.

This is very nice , spacious campground . Each site has trees, vines that gives privacy . Other than Jet flying over , loud due to near AFB , this is one of my favorite RV campground. Friendly staffs. Coin laundry is very reasonable price.
