Gathering Grounds Patisserie & Cafe

If this café were in my neighborhood, I’d probably have most of my breakfast here. Their pastries, coffee, and hot breakfast options were simply top notch. Classic options executed in perfection.

Check out their pastry display by the coffee bar as they’re not listed on the menu. We got the strawberry pop tart and cinnamon roll. Both were ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We also had the home fries, omelette, and bagel sandwich. Everything was so tasty without being overly heavy/greasy.

Our server was so friendly and it looked like there were a lot of local guests. Must visit if you’re in downtown Luray, VA. Breakfast is served until 10.45 AM.

We were beyond pleased with our experience with Jessica . I love coffee but not knowing of fancy coffee drinks . I asked for a suggestion and Jessica took time to make great recommendations including her favorite Caramel Apple 🍏 Latte. We enjoyed the breakfast wrap which was scrumptious!!! It was seasoned perfectly and a huge amount of deliciousness stuffed inside . Jessica even took time to talk hiking 🥾 with us .
The restaurant is beautiful and cozy , we will most certainly return on our next hiking trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The wait staff were very friendly and genuine. I had a caramel latte that was very delicious and refreshing. The food was satisfying and the perfect portion before a day of adventure! I highly recommend this breakfast spot.

Got a ham croissant and pancakes. Delicious! I liked how they use local coffee as well. Cute theme of GSD. Finally got to meet Boris.

Gathering Grounds deserves a pat(isserie) on the back because I enjoyed myself when I was there for brunch.

My friend and I were visiting and this spot was recommended by two locals for breakfast or lunch. I ordered a coffee and breakfast sandwich. They’re coffee was very nice, which was a great way to start brunch. The sandwich was a safe choice in my part, but I’m glad I did because it was perfectly cooked. I ordered a wide of onion rings, which were perfectly crispy.

Our server was awesome. So friendly, so attentive, and was happy to take our picture! If you’re looking for a really nice local spot for breakfast or lunch, pay Gathering Grounds a visit .

Very delicious sandwiches at a good price. With our group of 6, every sandwich or panini was delicious and every side was great! Versaille and Veggie grilled cheese and Monaco were magnificent!

This place has a coffee flight where you can pick 4 flavors and you get to sample them all! I loved it! The food we had was yummy too and the staff was great.

The cutest breakfast place! Everything was delicious. Home fries were so good! Service was amazing! Can't wait to go back and try their pistachio latte! There is free parking behind the front entrance if street parking isn't available.

We just had a FABULOUS experience at Gathering Grounds - the FIRST restaurant we have eaten in since March 10, 2020, when the President locked the country down!
For our first time back, we chose our FAVORITE restaurant of all time - Gathering Grounds. And it was just the same - exactly like coming home! We sat at our same table, had our same delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches (served all day), same coffee with special hazelnut flavoring and were just so happy we can't contain ourselves!!
We were beautifully served by CHRISTY, a lovely young woman who made sure we were perfectly taken care of at every turn. Christy made our mail a celebration!
We wanted to compliment the owner, KAREN, for keeping this fantastic restaurant going through all the trials of COVID, so she visited our table for a chat about how she had survived the last four years. It wasn't easy - and she is contemplating serving their amazing dinners soon again - but Karen made it happen and we are so, so glad!
Karen sent us on our way with a box of complimentary fresh cinnamon buns (we never miss choosing something from the pastry case, which changes daily) and a promise from us to return very soon. What's not to like?

The place to be while at Luray Caverns. There would be wait time, which is worth. Very very courteous and polite staff.

The ambiance/atmosphere combined with the food made this an incredible stop. The Winchester Panini was extravagant. The chai latte was very good along with the breakfast sandwich. This place is highly recommended.

A great place to grab lunch with many choices, including 15+ sandwiches (e.g., BLT, panini, Philly cheesesteak) also salads and soups, breakfast sandwiches, and deserts. Reasonable priced.

Excellent coffee joint! Fast, friendly service. Fun latte flight and great avocado toast. Wish we had been more hungry! Pastries and the rest of the menu looked very good.

I love coming here when I'm in Luray. The food is delicious and the latte is perfect. This restaurant would easily thrive in DC too.

I had the best fish and chips ever here maybe 2 years ago. I still remember it and I order it every now and then hoping it will be as good. Amazingly delicious!

Incredible food, friendly service, great atmosphere! Such a lovely morning spent here at Gathering Grounds. I can’t stop telling people what a great time we had here during our honeymoon! The cinnamon roll, the sandwiches, the coffee, it was all spot on. I would recommend this breakfast spot to anyone without hesitation, and if you’re out of town and checking out the beautiful Shenandoah National Park- this is a great place to start your journey!

Just loved this place. Amazing delicious food. The coffee was perfect. We actually ended up eating 3 times at this place. A lot of vegetarian options. The veggie wrap was delicious and felt so fresh. The veggie burger was great and the aioli just made it perfect.
Loved the ambiance too. They have a beautiful patio for outdoor seating too.
If you are in Luray, you have to try this place out.

Awesome lunch visit during our first trip to Luray. We arrived shortly before noon, received pleasant greeting and were promptly seated at the front window table. Our sandwiches were delivered in very reasonable time fresh and delicious.

We had breakfast and lunch here during our stay in the area. Their cappuccinos are very good. The omelette was good & pancakes were just ok. The chicken salad croissant was really good! And their pasta salad side was fresh and satisfying! Food coming out at lunch was a tad slow-they were busy-but the wait was worth it! Definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch!

Amazing restaurant!! We were visiting out of town to go see the Caverns. We decided to take main street to see if there was any good places. Based on the reviews we decided to stop in. Boy am I glad we did. Our waitress was phenomenal Very quick service. The chicken salad is out of this world!!! We also got coffee and bakery goods to go. Whether your local or just visiting this is a must if you are looking for a good place to eat with a great service and ambience. If I could give 10 stars I would.
