Classic, authentic, original, local. I love these kinds of places. Great motel, clean, comfortable, kind and genuine people. I would definitely stay at this inn again. The restaurant and bar were equally five star. Live music every night. I was here my kind of vibe. If you’re looking for a chain hotel, this is not your place.

I stayed here on a whim last week because my initial hotel reservation in Las Vegas got cancelled because of a severe flash flood they had and despite the last minute change I had a lovely time! This hotel was a very magical place to stay, the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the courtyard area attached to most rooms was very convenient for my dog (: the whole hotel complex is filled with beautiful gardens and plants and you can really feel the history in the old adobe walls. The location is also phenomenal, it was just a short walk to the plaza so that was definitely an added bonus. 10/10 would stay again when in the Taos area

We deeply enjoyed our stay in one of the king bed suites at The Historic Taos Inn. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating for our stay. We expressed some minor concerns at one point, and the person at the front desk immediately made things right for us. This is my second stay at the Inn and both have been very pleasant experiences. I highly recommend giving this spot a chance if you visit Taos.

We stayed 3 nights - great room, wonderful staff, free parking, great lobby bar, perfect location. Best place to stay in Taos if you want a southwestern environment, classically appointed rooms, and lovely courtyard outside our room. We’ll be back in the fall.

There was a bit of a glitch with our stay but the manager made for a happy ending. She rose to the occasion and then some. We are super hosts on Airbnb so we know things happen with staff. She headed off a one star review with her service and cheerful attitude. Highly recommended.

We were trying to decide between a more traditional hotel and The Taos Inn. We were glad we chose the Inn. It is quirky, to say the least. The rooms are nice, but the layout of the hotel is interesting. It is located right off the main area of Taos. The window to the bar is so close to the street that you feel like you can reach out and touch the cars. A unique experience and one we are glad we did not pass up.

Love the location, able to access so many wonderful shops and sites by foot. Great service from front desk checkin with Maxine, to getting ice from the young man helping in the bar area, water bottles when requested, and the wonderful Daniela that served me at Doc Martin’s every night! The food was so delicious and since I was there for many nights I tried it all! Nightly music was entertaining, great to see people enjoying it. Room was fun in its antique way, nothing fancy there but ok with that.Bed was comfortable enough, water pressure in shower ok. Space heater provided help with the chilliness at night. I will definitely be staying there for all upcoming work trips! Almost felt like home and visiting relatives. Thank you Taos Inn you definitely are the best!

I was camping in northern New Mexico when I faced a health situation. I had to go into Taos to pick up a prescription, and a family member generously offered to get me a hotel/motel room for the night. I was supposed to end up at the Quality Inn, but they apparently sold the last pet friendly room just as my family member made the reservation online. After two hours of working things out with Booking(dot)com, my family member told me I had a reservation at the Historic Taos Inn.

Wow! Despite the medical situation, it was my lucky night. It sure was a pleasure to stay at the Taos Inn.

The lady who checked me in was super nice and called me "my dear." When she realized I had my dog with me, she moved me to a downstairs room, so it would be easier to take the dog out at night if necessary. She explained checkout to me and was exceptionally kind to me when I really needed some kindness.

I stayed in a room with two twin beds in the main building. The room was interesting, with Southwest flair. The mattresses were on what seemed to be adobe platforms. I wondered if they would be comfortable, and the one I slept on certainly was! Instead of being side by side, the beds were head to head in the corner against two adjoining walls. It was visually interesting.

The room was very clean. The bathroom was very clean too, and there were plenty of towels. There was a closet full of amenities too: two extra blankets, a fan, a space heater, an ironing board, and an iron.

FYI, this room did not have a microwave or a refrigerator.

I took my ice bucket to the Adobe Bar to get some ice. The bartender was very nice and personable and thanked me for staying there.

Complimentary coffee and tea are available in the "library" in the mornings. That was nice, but having some pastries and/or muffins available for guests each morning would be even nicer.

The checkout process went smoothly, and the young man working the desk that morning was very helpful.

I really enjoyed my night at the Historic Taos Inn and not just because it felt good to take a long, hot shower and sleep in a real bed during my time of health problems. It was nice to spend time in such a safe and lovely space.

There’s an unmistakable vibe you get here , and the accommodations and service reflect it. The vibe is true southwest, inviting , romantic , private and secluded yet convenient to everything all at once. My favorite place to stay in the county !!!

Taos Historic Inn is super charming and really good value given location and quality. We had a corner room way in the back of one of the buildings, and while the beds, bathroom, and amenities were great, the room itself was a little dark. I think that was specific to this room as many others appeared to have large front wall windows, but it's worth asking about if given the choice of multiple rooms.

Parking is convenient and tucked away so as not to be right on the street. You can walk to literally all of downtown Taos from the hotel, with very few destinations taking more than 10 minutes to walk to. I think when we stay again, we would try to get a second story room just for the light and the views.

The newly renovated library/lounge space in the main building was super cozy, and they had decent coffee there ready to go early in the morning. The bar and restaurant was closed the night we stayed unfortunately; we were really hoping to try that.

Overall, I definitely recommend it. You get historic, high quality lodging right in the middle of downtown Taos!

We booked several months back not knowing what to expect. Our first night, we stayed in a small room with a full sized bed. The room was fine but was the closest to the street and also overlooking the lobby. With a motorcycle rally in the area, it was rather loud all night. The front desk clerk, Mack, was kind enough to find us a quieter room on the back side of the building. If you stay here, I recommend getting a bungalow out back. They are beautiful rooms and very peaceful. The staff here were all very nice and helpful!

Really cute central hotel with a great restaurant and bar. Very quiet rooms with comfy beds. Stretching to find something to complain about cause it was actually really nice! - I wasn't a huge fan of the soaps and the shower control was confusing but thats just personal preference. Would recommend and revisit!

I have stayed at the Historic Taos Inn on three occasions. All three experiences were outstanding. To my delight on my most recent stay (early June, 2023), I was assigned the same room where I had stayed on my initial visit in 2011. The rooms are always clean and comfortable with a decor/appearance of old hacienda/earlier SW'ern. I love the Adobe Bar and its perfectly charming patio; you can see and meet plenty of locals here. I was treated so well each time by the hotel's desk clerk. The location of the property is ideal; it's so close to the plaza and so many fine shops and restaurants (and museums). The hotel has sufficient parking ideally located at the side and rear of the property. I will definitely stay here again.

Love this place was really tired and went by this place twice. You check in by phone. The rooms are very clean and new. The bottle water is to die for. Wish I had more.

We love Taos, we love Taos Inn, and now we love Charlie who saved the day upon check in! There was a mix up with our reservation due to a third party booking site so there were a few tense moments when we checked in at the front desk after a long day of travelling but Charlie’s excellent customer service and kindness saved the day. He sorted everything out and gave a gorgeous room that we have truly been enjoying! Thanks Charlie! Big shout out to ALL the amazing hardworking staff who really put in the effort with smiles and kindness to make guests feel welcome and taken care of - great team.

I loved everything about the Taos Inn (except for the fact that I didn't have a bathtub). My room was lovely and made me want to stay forever. The attention to detail is obvious. And I love that it's dog friendly. I didn't have one but I met a few good ones. I also appreciate that the bar had 3 different non-alcoholic beer choices, which is rare. I hope to be back again and again. Thank you Taos for the much-needed getaway.

We were in Taos for a very fun wedding. We liked this historic inn as it was well located, clean and just overall cute. My husband and I stayed in the main building while our adult children had rooms in the courtyard. They loved that there were tables outside of their rooms to have some very tasty Mexican breakfasts and to just relax together outside between wedding activities. We would definitely stay here again as it provides an authentic experience!

We love the Taos Inn and were happy to find availability in our favorite room, during our most recent road trip. The ambience is charming and the room was very comfortable and clean. We love being close to walk to the plaza, galleries and museums, yet it's quiet at night.
