Drowsy Water Ranch is my family's happy place. From the beautiful Colorado mountains to the amazing horse program to the one-of-a-king kids programs to the incredible food - everything is top notch. Plus, the Fosha family cannot be beat. I promise your family will be forever changed by DWR.

Great ranch and riding experience. Small groups, 20-40 guests total! The family members are top notch folks. They know everyone by name
Everywhere is beautiful and scenic. No pressure, no worries, just relax and enjoy the ranch experience.
They also have white water rafting and sky high zip lines!
Top ten vacation for us.

I went from being afraid of horses to loping in just a couple of days. The staff is amazing, very patient and make sure you have a great time. Ken and Randy Sue are very gracious hosts. The wranglers are a great group and know their horses. Going back next year.

LOVE DWR. This was our first year, and we will be returning next year. They have safe, trained, and well cared for horses that meet the needs of all riding levels; with 2x the amount of horses than guests. Staff and owners are all wonderful.

We just spent a week at Drowsy Water and it was a wonderful experience. We rode horses daily but were also able to experience white water rafting and zip lining as well. The best part, very little cell phone service.
Lots of memories made!!

Visited on a family vacation and it was AMAZING, I would highly recommend Drowsy Water to families looking for a unique experience.

We went with VERY little riding experience and the staff got us up to speed and out riding trails on the first day. From grandkids to grandparents everyone was riding an have a great time.

There was also a great variety of things to do besides riding to give your legs a break (zip lining, hiking, fishing, mountain biking).

The kids program was amazing, the kids had a blast and the parents could go explore on the trail or off the ranch knowing the kids were having a blast and being well looked after.

Drowsy Water really has the feel of a family ranch. The Fosha’s are everywhere and amazing people. And the staff they had are knowledgeable and friendly and it was a pleasure to spend a week with them.

If I could give this rating a five and a half I would. This dude ranch exceeded all expectations. We have a family of 13, ages 6 through 75 and I think we all agreed that this was our favorite family vacation. The staff really take care with every detail. You get your own horse for the week. And you can go at your own pace. The food was excellent. They offer a variety of activities including dancing, a whitewater rafting excursion, mountain biking, fishing, zip lining, and of course the main activity horseback riding. I cannot speak to other dude ranches but this one seemed to have a special element to it that made it feel like everyone was part of a bigger family. You really started to get a sense of what it felt like in the old west and to be a cowboy or cowgirl.

According to 4 generations of my family, there is not a better family vacation. My husband and I came in 1983 before we had kids. We have returned six more times with our children, then grandchildren and extended family. The Fosha family and their stellar staff do an excellent job of satisfying every need. Our last trip a couple of weeks ago, we had a group of 12 ranging from 2 to 83 years old, and we all had a blast. All but the very oldest and youngest buckaroo participated in daily horseback riding, and the quality of their horses and their trail ride program is excellent. It is not easy to coordinate vacation schedules for so many people, but we plan to make a real effort to get back to DWR every year or two. Our grandchildren insist!

Drowsy Water hosted our wedding, we had about 25 guests, and it was absolutely spectacular. I emailed the Ranch about a year before the wedding to inquire about bookings, and I got a phone call back soon after. Justin was very candid about what they could and could not accomodate, but since I had my heart set on a rather simple affair, it was easy to book our group. Justin was in regular communication with me during the year it took to plan the trip. He answered all of my questions quickly and he would also check in with me every so often to see how the planning was going. Of course, the place is beautiful - it's truly breath taking. I adored the cowboy-themed sheets, rustic style cabins, and home cooked food. The wedding ceremony was lovely. The Ranch worked with our photographers and took us up to a mountaintop to capture stunning images. Ranch staff decided to add sweet, romantic touches to our "reception" BBQ cookout dinner, and the dance hall party had us all laughing and stumbling through different Western dances. It was a dream come true, and a memory our families will cherish forever. All of our guests were comfortable and surprised at just how much fun they were having, and many have vowed to come back. I cannot recommend the Drowsy Water Ranch highly enough!

Just returned from a week at DWR--their first full week of the summer following the fires from last October, 2020. It was an incredible experience we won't ever forget. There were tears most of the travel home and reminiscing about each days' activities, meals, and horse experiences in our travel journal. By the end of the week, each of us had developed an attachment to our 'partner' horses. We learned not only how to ride them, but also how their personalities respond to ours, and how they are fed, and cared for. For this trip, we felt we were "roughing it" a little, but VERY comfortable and well-fed. Meals were consistently good. Cabins were updated and clean. Most of all, the Fosha's and the entire camp staff were attentive, enthusiastic, and genuinely interested in ensuring you have an amazing vacation.

Wonderful, all-inclusive dude ranch with all the fixin's! Incredibly warm, hospitable hosts, willing and wonderful horses, great food, fun activities -- and the wranglers carry on the tradition of being good-looking, funny, charming and steeped in "the cowboy way!" Highly recommended for families and cowboys and cowgirls of all ages!

This was my second time at DWR, the first was back in 1992. It was just as magical now as it was when I was a kid. You can do a variety of activities and ride as much or as little as you choose. The staff and food were top notch and you’re treated like family. I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation.

Wonderful family vacation. Parents and children have their own activities and some together including horseback riding, rafting, hiking, hay rides and relaxing around the pool to name a few. Adults with no children will feel just as welcome.

Best vacation. This is one of the best vacations we have had. The weather was cold and wet but we still rode horses had great meals. We have visited it many times in the past. And it is good for beginner riders and experienced riders.

Amazing dude ranch! I can't say enough about the staff, the facilities, and the authenticity of the experience. If you're a family that likes to horseback ride, Drowsy Water Ranch needs to be on the top of your list for a family holiday.

We went 5 times with the whole family throughout the 80's. We LOVED this place and the Fosha family always offered top quality service. I can't say enough positive things about the memories that were created there.

A dude ranch experience in a rustic setting. It is family owned & operated and the entire crew is focused on hospitality. Food is tasty and plentiful. Friendly, helpful staff.

Last year as a family we decided to skip the whole Christmas shebang and plan a dream family vacation. Wow! I am so glad we did! It was the best decision ever! We all collectively arrived on Sunday and were greeted by the kindest, warmest staff, the most spectacular setting in a beautiful valley surrounded by the vast Rocky Mountains. This is truly an authentic old school dude ranch. Beautiful and quaint little log cabins scattered throughout the property to offer just enough privacy yet at the same time you felt like part of a small intimate village that left the rest of the world behind in the best way. Dinners are all served family style in the main dining hall, there are multiple community gathering areas to chat, watch the children play and run, watch the wranglers get the horses ready for the day and rest and relax before the next activity. The days start early with a full cooked to order breakfast then off to a trail ride (the wranglers tell some fantastic stories as well), fishing, white water rafting, hiking or even mountain biking. You are paired with your horse for the week and the staff goes to great lengths to make sure you are paired with the right horse. (Beware -you WILL form a bond over horsey treats, nuzzles and head rubs and it will be really REALLY hard to say goodbye) There is entertainment in the evenings like campfires, music and a super fun variety show. The kids will also put on a really fun rodeo. There will be early morning breakfast rides, dinner rides and your heart will find a new love for the great outdoors, newfound friends who will now feel like family and the Fosha's and their incredible and dedicated staff -many of which have returned every summer for years (when asking one wrangler about her experience working at the ranch-she got tears in her eyes and expressed her love and sentiment for the Fosha's becoming a second family and how the ranch felt like home). The experience will leave you longing to return and (intelligently) booking your trip for the following year.

I was given a wish from the Make-A-Wish foundation when I was younger. I chose to come here. It was an amazing trip, I absolutely loved the experience. I would love to go back someday...

Very highly recommended. It is very hard not to want to come and revisit again and again. I cannot wait until next year to be a part of the family for another week.
