This is my favorite place in the world. My wife and I visited many years ago at the nadir of the beetle-kill tragedy, and the campground was a very sad-looking place. Today after a decade of Nancy’s steady nurturing care of the many hundreds of new saplings and the “business” of running the campground, it’s beautiful. There are still a lot of dead trees around the outer perimeter, but there’s so much fresh new life taking hold in the campground that it projects a powerful image of renewal.
I’ve never been anywhere with such wonderful trails so close to the campground. You can get on your bike in your campsite and be on an outstanding and expansive trail system within 100 feet. We haven’t ever seen bears here, but we’ve seem many mule deer and moose, including one yearling bull who came so close he had to duck under our clothesline.
We spent the last week of June and the first week of July here this year, and brought 2 hummingbird feeders. Our campsite became crowded with hummingbirds within 2 days - it was fantastic to watch them dogfighting and courting each other.
We will really miss Nancy’s presence and her special touch that have made this campground as special as it has become. I am sure the hummingbirds will be disappointed next summer when they return.
PLEASE BRING A FEEDER IF YOU VISIT!

Talk about a heavensend! My girlfriend and I stopped by around 9am to snag a "first come, first serve" spot, and not only was it easy to do, the hosts were beyond amazing. The campsite was clean, the hosts were ultra friendly and informative, and the location was great!! Next time we return, this is the first place we're looking into!

We were in site 6. Close to the rest room. The host is very nice and keeps this campground very clean. Restrooms are the cleanest of any FS campground i have ever been to. The only complaint is there is no shade except for one site that is for tents.

After looking around for a campsite, stopping at roughly 5 campgrounds in Middle Park as the sun was setting, we were really happy to find this place. Not only was the view beautiful, the camp host was extremely friendly and helpful, the latrine was by far the cleanest I've ever seen. Fees are reasonable, and half off with an America The Beautiful pass

Absolutely phenomenal couple hosting this site. Not only is the campground super clean, well kept, pit toilets immaculate but their hospitality goes to a whole new level. They are friendly, knowledgeable of the area and offer a ton of resources. I was out cleaning my chain and messing around with some shifting issues on my mtb and host came over and offered for me to use his bike stand and scrub/clean by bike. We cleaned the chain, lubed it back up, I washed my bike and then he even made the adjustments I needed to get my shifting dialed back in. We haven't left yet and have 2 more nights here. I rarely stay at campgrounds. We love BLM and dispersed but dang. With the hosts + the surrounding (kid friendly) mtbing trails. I will be sure to save this for the future. So glad to know there are still amazing people in the world. This spot is truly a gem and even more so because of the camp hosts. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Beautiful campground and scenery. We will be back. But a word of warning about the campsite lady in charge, she is special. Very poor communication skills and comes off as incredibly rude. Hopefully they have someone else running the place next year.

What a great weekend! Nancy was joined by another host this season, Judy. Both are friendly and welcoming (and now there’s a host dog, Pepper!).

Campground was almost empty when we arrived around 4:30 on a Friday. Perfect for our short drive from Denver after work. We had no troubles finding a spot, which we had concerns about with reservations not available at this campground. Most spots filled up with a mix of tents and RVs but everyone was quiet so we all got to enjoy the sounds of nature.

You can hear the creek from the sites at night or during more quiet parts of the day, and we had lots of hummingbird visitors! Cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever used at a campground!

Quick, easy access to lots of trail networks but also a quick drive into Fraser for a bite to eat or amenities. We definitely enjoyed it and will be back!

Camped here a couple of times. Great for Mt biking. They have good enclosed fire pits and bear safe storage. Can get busy but wasn't this memorial weekend.

Beautiful camping spot. You hear the sound of water flowing with a mountain back drop. The host was amazing. He made us very comfortable.

Great Campground. Great views. Great Hosts. Great sites. The nicest and cleanest vault toilets that even come with lighting inside. Need I say more?? Visited September 9th, 2021. Please note there are at least two ditches across deliberately across the access roads, PLEASE slow down.

My sister and family stayed here and it was beautiful. The camp host is very helpful and friendly. We fished the river and had a great time catching trout. We even got to see a bull moose. Quiet at night and most relaxing.

Love camping in this location .
Ms Nancy the Campground host is the most caring and wonderful person I ever met .
She is the backbone keeping this place organized and clean.

Only problem is that people on the trail surranding the Campground walk thru the campsite to use the facilities against the law!!!put your not listening Dog on a leash.
It is veary dangerous when a unknown dog running thru the campsite and a owner chasing after .....wild life can Kill your dog in second ....Thrumping on them!!!!!we almost witness a blue heeler get killed this way.
Weary sad that adult humans can't understand and not know there own Dog.:-(

Everywhere else I had planned to camp was a mud pit, this camp ground was amazing! Only thing that could've made it better was access to the dumpster. No biggie though, as I planned to pack out trash anyway.

Great campground for mountain biking, close to WP. Super clean bathrooms. 3 sites big enough for larger rigs. $20 per night.

Great campground but make sure you check their seasonal open dates. They don't open up until June!
