Hotel La Fonda de Taos

Loved staying here. When we got here we immediately wished we were staying for more than one night. I loved how clean it was, and that’s a big struggle for me when traveling. The room was very charming. There was even a little artist fair happening that afternoon! I had pleasant experience with all the staff I talked to, especially Omar who checked us in.

I booked a one-night stay at Hotel La Fonda de Taos on a whim, and I have to say, I am incredibly glad that I did. This historic inn right on the plaza puts you at the center of Taos history, culture, and everything the town has to offer. It’s a great value with comfortable accommodations and has some unique sights for guests, like the D. H. Lawrence Forbidden Art collection that’s on display. Not only that, the staff was very friendly and helpful - especially Omar at the front desk, who was so welcoming and recommended some perfect local spots in the area to visit. He is a delight, and made my visit to Taos more memorable. I’m looking forward to staying at Hotel La Fonda again next time I’m in town.

We came here to spend a night for my wife's 50th birthday. We arrived a bit early and asked if we could check in. The front desk attendant checked to see if the room was ready and it was! He told us he would be happy to check us in early, so we went and got situated. The room had a nice couch and a gas fireplace in the corner. The decor was a little worn, but it was a cozy room with a great view of the plaza from a balcony! Everything was clean, and as expected. It did get a little chilly later in the evening, and the front desk attendant went out of his way to locate a space heater that would toast up the room a bit. We had a great stay, we enjoyed walking around the plaza; briefly as it was freezing out, and it was very nice being so close to every type of restaurant you could desire. Keep up the good work and the great customer service!

Just passing thru for one night, a bit more than we wanted to spend but very cute, New Mexico atmosphere...Rooms are charming & very clean. What made our stay over the top was the service. Omar went above & beyond exceptional!!! Highly recommend

Clean, quiet, and a nice place to stay, though I didn't really spend enough time there to really get to know or explore the hotel.

It was a childhood dream to get to stay there, but the difficulty getting to Room 121 was crazy. Up the elevator, then the steps down, then up to our room. It's not easy with a big suitcase. I suggest they have a bellhop to assist you.

Thanks so much for a great stay this week. Room was very nice, comfortable and in a great location in town. I especially wanted to call out Omar at the front desk. He was kind, thoughtful, friendly, patient and had 100% follow through on all our questions and requests. He’s a gem! Thanks again for such a lovely stay during our first trip to Taos!

I have visited Taos several times and wanted to make this trip special by staying at this historic hotel. It was everything I hoped it would be, excellent service and a small but lovely room. The location is right in the middle of town so most things are close. The parking lot is easy and very convenient. I feel I got more of a true Taos experience staying here.

Located on the Plaza in downtown is a historic hotel! Parking is a bit tricky. Hotel is quite nice and charming. Rooms are a bit small and few amenities however you book here for the location mainly. You can walk to all the best stores. 👍

The evening desk guy gave me a ride out to the Kit Carson Electric Coop EV charging station to retrieve my car when he got off work at 11 pm. The hotel was fine. This dude is my hero.

We didn’t stay there we just popped in because we are familiar with the La Fonda in Santa Fe. She must get that question a lot as she came back saying that La Fonda means something generic.
The staff were attentive and welcoming and the lobby had a nice comfortable ambiance!

Rooms are dated, but very nicely upgraded.

Layouts of the rooms is really not done well in my opinion.

The ENTIRE staff was incredible in every way.

Location, location, location.

Would have been nice if the restaurant was open while we were there, but bang for the buck was well worth our stay.

Clean, sanitary, friendly and courteous staff. Very attentive and informative. The hotel room was clean and spacious. This beautiful historic building is in fabulous shape and kept in wonderful order for guests. You will want for nothing. They include guest bathrobes, top of the line bath essentials, comfortable beds, perfect location, and beyond reproach cleanliness standards all in historic Taos style and grandeur. What's not to love! Heather couldn't have been nicer when we had to book a room at the last minute. Thank you for turning a fiasco into a fabulous finale' at the end of our exhausting day.

This hotel is quintessential Taos, right on the plaza, can walk to everything you need. Great staff, flexible and accommodating. Hotel is old but clean and well kept, just what you want in Taos IMO. Rooms have all the conveniences you would expect in a modern hotel, but with a Taos vibe, exactly why you should stay here. Great coffee shop in lobby. No bar in hotel but several nearby. This was a ski trip and skiing was awesome.

There was a hiccup, but not worth mentioning, the owner is such a great person. Taos was a great visit even though the court yard was destroyed for upgrades...had I'd known.... but go downstairs and get you a great coffee most definitely I bought so many shirts and hoodies in town

Very reasonably priced, great location and friendly staff. Room was clean and beautifully decorated. Would gladly stay again.

Beds are a tad firm for my liking, but clean, warm and well serviced makes up for personal preference. Food is great and though laid back, the service is attentive. To my mind that is the best, no pressure approach to hotel stays!
