Richard is fabulous and he runs a tight ship. CG is a wonderful little spot… very peaceful.

Loaded with charm from the art to the fireplace and the overall adobe ambience. The grounds give it such a fantastic setting with the stream and meditation cabin and who wouldn't love feeding the chickens (aka The Golden Girls - well the yolks at least). The only downside is having to leave. Finally Richard's hospitality is fantastic one of the best hosts we have ever had!

A chance to slow down and enjoy your stay in Taos and embrace the moment. The accommodations are truly an artists retreat celebrating the New Mexico architecture, landscape and art that are so unique to this place. Winter, spring, summer or fall, the seasons in Taos all offer an escape from the rat race and the host is determined to allow you to enjoy your time here. Chickens, fabulous beds and linens, fully equipped kitchens and 5 acres to roam upon. Want to get away? This is the place. It’s our 4th visit here since 2009 and a second home.

Just spent my second much anticipated stay at Casa Gallina. The magic starts even when you only pull up to the beautiful property, then your breath is taken away when you step inside your abode, fresh air and light dance off of the incredible and thoughtful decor and a bottle of wine and delicious snacks welcome you. There is no other place I have ever experienced this level of warm welcome, you feel so loved. It radiates through your whole stay as Richard, the amazing owner makes sure you are comfortable and occasionally brings you baked treats or eggs!!
The amount of love put into this place emanates and blesses you with an experience you will never forget. I adore this absolute gem and the owner. Thank you again for a memorable stay, we look forward to our next stay. 💗

Stayed at Casa Gallina in Spring 2019. Loved it! Richard was a perfect host. The property is peacefully far enough away from the main traffic area but close enough to get en route to all surrounding attractions within minutes. The property itself was very cozy. Richard surprised us with delicious treats and was available for any questions or directions if needed. Perfect getaway!

We have turned several friends onto this place, and without exception they have returned on their own. It is a remarkable place, with a responsive and compassionate owner, whose eye for detail and design is remarkable. From the charcuterie plate and chilled wine waiting for your arrival, to the fresh eggs delivered daily if needed, to the amazing organic garden, this place envelops you in all the peace and serenity and respite you can hope for. This is the anti-microwave scene. No drip coffee. Boil water. French press it. Sip it on a bench and feed the chickens. If that sounds like your vibe, this is the place. It is the only lodging that we try to return to every year.

This was one of the most relaxing and wonderful places I have ever stayed. Beautifully designed and almost magical. Having fresh eggs in exchange for feeding the chickens or leftovers was an added bit of fun. But as nice as the casa was it was nothing compared to the wonderful host. We are definitely going to stay there the next time we are in Taos.

If you go to Taos, Casa Gallina is where you should stay. All the Casitas are cozy, clean and well cared for. The grounds are beautiful and the atmosphere is relaxing and homey. Richard is incredibly gracious and warm. You feel like a member of his family after he greets you and shows you around. If you want tranquility and comfort this is the place. 5 minute drive to Taos plaza. 12 minutes to Taos Pueblo and 15 minutes to Rio Grande Gorge. Also good for cyclists. Fresh eggs from chickens are amazing. Wake up to Richard's freshly baked muffins. Good for couples, families with big or small kids. Need an excuse to go back!!

I just returned and I don't think I've ever stayed any place so deeply tranquil. A wonderful brook runs through the property and we enjoyed fresh spinach with our fresh eggs every morning for breakfast. The bed was the MOST comfortable one I've ever slept in and we enjoyed sitting in a hammock outside listening to the wealth of birds that inhabit the property. The hot water was plentiful for baths and the host/owner thought of everything we needed. (There was a lovely antipasti waiting for us on our arrival.) I see another reviewer took issue with the fact that there was no microwave, but who needs a microwave when there is a gourmet gas range stove?? Clean, beautiful, and very comfortable and peaceful. I can't imagine staying anywhere else on future trips to Taos.

Simply perfect.
My husband and I are traveling all around the world and never came across anything like this before.
Host at its perfection. We were being taken care of from top to bottom in the most intelligent way.
Place is clean and filled with love and warmth.
To be honest - It felt as if you were visiting a cool, stylish, loving, gorgeous big brother - who is keen to make you feel happy and will be taking care of all your needs paying attention to all details.
Richard - you are an amazing person and we love you

Fantastic. Owner is amazing, every inch of the property and the lodging is charming and cozy, you get fresh eggs daily from the chickens that you can also feed your leftovers to, it's simply the best. I can't imagine a better place to stay.

Truly magical stay here at Casa Gallina. Richard, the proprietor, has immaculate taste and creates a very cozy, quaint, and comfortable atmosphere inside the Casitas and throughout the property. Just a very short drive to downtown Taos but far enough out that it is very tranquil. I would highly recommend Casablanca Gallina to anyone.

This place is AMAZING! We are two days into our stay as I write this review, and all I can say is if you're looking to visit Taos, this should be your ONLY option! Richard, the owner and manager, is incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about the area. He has directed us to some of the best restaurants/local eateries around, and given us a full list of some amazing trails and sights that are must-sees in the area! The whole place is charming and quiet, perfect for a romantic stay or honeymoon getaway. We are staying in the Leghorn Casita, and it is so room and warm - we hardly have a reason to leave! If you're visiting Taos, Casa Gallina should be first on your list of places to stay. We look forward to our NEXT trip out here!

What a lucky find! This was our first trip to Taos, and had no personal recommendations for lodging or dining. The website reminded us of an inn in the South of France we loved. And we were right. The Leghorn room has all the amenities, great decor, and plenty of light. Hmmmm, maybe we should downsize and just live like this! Richard was a superb host. Attentive to detail, informative about the local sites and present just when needed. THE place to stay in Taos.

I would never stay anywhere else in Taos. It's cozy, homey, and there are fresh eggs from the chickens in the backyard. The rooms are all comfortable and it is a five minute drive from the plaza where there are lots of galleries and museums.
