The food and service were both top notch! We dined outside and it was so nice with music and string lights. It rained while we were there and the umbrella kept us 100% dry. The steak tacos were delicious and the salsa and guacamole were excellent.

Went around 5 and got a table instantly. Took a while to get service (have learned that NM service is a tad slow) but was fairly quick compared to other places. The waitress was nice and quick with getting our drinks and food. Got the beef quesadillas and they were delicious! Would definitely come back!

This was my favourite place we ate at in New Mexico!!!! Delicious food, HIGHLY recommend the ceviche and traditional margaritas. I got the al pastor tacos which were also amazing :) Well-priced too!

We had a great meal here. The menu has much more variety than other places we’ve tried locally, and we tried dishes we had never heard of before. The ceviche is amazing as were our entrees, which were the Huarache and the tacos. We also thought the tres leches cake was excellent. Our service was a little slow but our server was very nice. We enjoyed the atmosphere and found the lack of loud music to be a real plus. We would recommend Azteca, and we definitely plan to come back!

Amazing was meal. The beans have just a hint of heat to them & a Smokey flavor. The salsa has a Smokey flavor as well. We visited here in mid Aug & temp was perfect to sit outside . I had the Huaraches and my husband has the ribeye. Our total meal was $53 ( + a tip).

The food was delicious. I highly recommend getting the guacamole.
The prices were reasonable.
They lost one star for service. I have never been to a restaurant where they didn't provide refills on water or ice tea. There were no chips and salsa served before the meal. I was surprised.
I did LOVE that they allowed dogs on the patio. Thank you for that accommodation.

Located in the back of the Plaza next to the church, it's a bit hidden but we'll worth the walk. Good atmosphere, wonderful fresh lemonade and fajitas! This Mexican restaurant is quite quaint and a fresh take on down town Taos. I've had fajitas in other restaurants but these were tastier and had good flavor. Tacos were yummy too! The chips were delicious and crispy! I enjoy those better with refride beans rather than guac, but to each his own... Parking is ok right infront of the restaurant, availability may vary though depending on the time of day....

My wife and I stopped by on the way home on a Sunday night. Once we found it (look towards the end of the shopping center on the right) we got in pretty quickly and sat inside. I will say the tables and chairs looked plain but the food was great! I had the Shrimp Cocktail and it came out like a bowl of soup (very surprising) but it was delicious with a slight heat to it that seemed to come from horse radish like you would expect in a shrimp cocktail dish. I also ordered fries on the side and they came out hot and crunchy, also tasting very good. My shrimp were fresh and crunchy and very good!
My wife had the Calamari and it was also really well prepared!
I believe the chips and salsa (hot) was home made and quite good!!
I gave it a 4 star or atmosphere only because this food should be presented in a more upscale looking establishment.
I can easily recommend Azteca for your meal!

Had the best Caesar salad ever with delicious horchata and then flan for dessert. Everything was great, and the outdoor seating is really lovely. The wait staff was so friendly and attentive. This will definitely be my go to place when in Taos!

It’s one of my go to places in Taos. We usually order the Mexican food which is delicious but this time we went for something different. We had the Red Trout and Ceviche. Oh my gosh they both were incredible. It’s a family run restaurant they are the nicest people. I highly recommend it and if you like Ceviche I wouldn’t miss it if you get the chance.

This is one the best Mexican restaurants I've been doing Taos. I never forget to eat from here whenever I go to Taos. Based on my experience eating Mexican I think it's authentic. This is definite place to try when you visit Taos for a relaxing vacation. The staff is also very attentive.

First visit. Had family in town and we were hungry having missed lunch & I was looking for something I hadn't tried. Driving by my brother pointed it out.

Chilly out, we sat inside. Happy Hour drinks & appetizers were in 15 minutes, and we were early, yet when we got our bill our waiter had hooked us up (Thank you!!)

Service was great. Waiter was super friendly, and his server was great. Took drink & wings order within 5 minutes. Refilled drinks... checking if everything was good at least twice.

Tamales with red chili pork were so perfect! OMG. I just had a plain white woman's chicken sandwich. Not a long wait on the wings or our entrees.

We grabbed a piece of tres Leche to go. Yum. And huge!

Prices were crazy fair especially given the location. There are plenty of entrees well under $20 bucks, and lots of other choices over that.

Metered parking right across the street. I imagine the patio is idyllic in the summer & in evenings.

They serve beer, wine & liquor.

I'll absolutely be back. Wish I had found the place sooner!

My husband and I did the historical trolley tour and we were starving, and the tour guide suggested Azteca Mexican Grill. We walked over and we were greeted and seated by one of the owners. We decided to order the carne asada huaraches and they were so delicious especially the charro beans. My husband and I felt right at home. Its a family restaurant and the young man said his mom makes the charro beans oh were they delicious. I recommend this wonderful spot because the service is wonderful and I felt right at home.

Excellent place, with excellent food, a great, simple and genuine vibe. What I appreciate the most is you can feel integrity: great products (we had the red trout and carne asada), perfectly cooked (even the vegetables which usually are inedible and mostly there for decoration). The flan was similarly perfectly made. A great place, highly recommend it!

Spectacular margaritas, fantastic Mexican food. A brief walk from the plaza absolutely worth it! Well priced! The outfits on the staff are great. The fountain does need repair but otherwise everything was excellent.

During my recent visit to Taos, I ordered the Huaraches which was similar to street tacos (except it was huge and I wouldn't really put it into the same category).

It comes with a tomatillo sauce and the ravanos (Radish, onions, and habaneros marinated in lime juice). It's a special dish from Uriangato in the State of Guanajuato in Mexico which is Northwest of Mexico City.

If you eat here you won't be disappointed. Excellent service and food! Also they have some nice t shirts that you can buy as well.
