One of the best breakfasts I have had in my life. The coffee was very good, great tasting to start the meal off. I got meat lovers skillet for my bread I got French toast. My friend got an omelet with wild rice in it, among other things covered in Hollandaise sauce with hash. The customer service was excellent. They have a large gift shop downstairs with many cool things at reasonable prices. This will be a go-to spot whenever ever I am in the area.

Such a delicious breakfast. The homemade strawberry rhubarb jam is absolutely amazing paired with the cranberry wood rice toast. Hollandaise sauce on the omelet was also amazing

Always a good stop! Great place to eat and stretch your legs during a driving trip. Good homemade food, friendly staff, can always get a table during the day.

Yum! We came here on our way home from Duluth and are so glad we stopped. I got the Northwoods omelette which I would definitely recommend and get again. The French toast was super thick and yummy. My husband got the Hash Brown Scramble which he really liked as well! I’d highly recommend stopping! *Their coffee was good as well.*

Spectacular. I expected this to be a really good cafe and it exceeded my expectations. The place is very nice and cozy and the service was outstanding. I ordered a hot wild rice meatloaf open face sandwich. It looked like any other open faced sandwich but one bite told you this was something else. It was an I wish I had this recipe good. Wow!!

The hardest decision was which delicious item do I want to eat?!! We stopped there around 11:45am.
Terrific waitress who altered a meal - took out fries added a slice of French toast (salivating over both). Homemade food including the bread and butter pickles! Yum!! Yeti burger and french toast. Northwoods omelet with hash browns and muffin.
The basement area is items for sale: clothing, toys, jewelry, soaps, etc.
There is a deck to view the scenic area as well.
Barnum MN about 1 hour from Duluth.

Amazing food! Our waitress was awesome, I believe her name was Courtney. Will definitely be back the next time we are up near Barnum.

Outstanding service received today from Cortney. She is always so polite and professional and we ask to sit in her section every time we visit. Gerat food today as well. Love the gift shop downstairs!

Very good breakfast! It wasn't on the menu, but my server was able to set me up with a plate with hashbrowns, 2 eggs and toast(with no meat! :) because I don't want to pay for bacon I'm not going to eat. I also enjoyed spending some time in the gifts shopping in the basement after eating - a fun surprise!

Great food and service with a smile. I had Eggs Benedict and they were perfectly delicious. They come on house made bread, which was different and I was very happy with the taste. My companion had an omelette with French Toast on the side. I got a taste of the French Toast and I loved it

I stopped at the Lazy Bear for a midday brunch after my truck broke down coming back from Duluth. Although it wasn’t a planned stop, my return visit definitely will be! The pancakes were mouthwatering delicious and the waitstaff were the friendliest bunch! Highly recommend stopping if you are in the area! Also, be sure to check out the super cute gift shop downstairs!

Great food friendly staff nice clean Cafe and gift shop downstairs. Thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast meal with friends. I would certainly recommend others stop there also. We drove 38 miles for breakfast and we'll do it again

We always make this a stop on our way to two harbors. I try to order something different each time. The cranberry coleslaw is my favorite coleslaw. The wild rice meatloaf is fantastic so is the turkey melt on cranberry bread. The kid liked the patty melt a lot. Every server has been so friendly. Prices are great too.

Local eatery with a long history of making everything from scratch. From breading their own chicken tenders to making their own salad dressings, to baking their own pies and sweets to roasting their own coffee. Country theme interior offers a line of booths with a panoramic view of Bear Lake. A gift shop is located below. Two Cake Combo came with two fluffy saucer sized cakes, 2 strips of bacon and 2 eggs done your way. We also order a side of Kalevala hash with Idaho and sweet potato, onions, bacon and spices nicely fried and very flavorful. Greatly recommend this for a side. Home cooking at its finest. Service was friendly and efficient but 12% service charge is confusing.

Amazing food! Great Chicken Tenders also! Had some French silk pie and almost fell over! Best food I’ve had in a long time. Atmosphere was good too. Made you feel like you were in a cabin. Service was amazing also. Food was out fairly quickly. And not to mention the view of the lake below. Just perfect.

10/10 would definitely recommend. We stopped here for breakfast as a group of 6 adults and 2 kids and were seated right away. We had the Apple Wild Rice Pancakes, a caramel roll, country fried steak, breakfast croissant, and pancakes. Everything was amazing. One adult said he would ask for a jug of the gravy and a straw to drink it. The pancakes were fluffy and soft. The Kalevala hash was very good if you like sweet potatoes. The caramel roll was a large size and soft. I would go back just to eat the apple wild rice pancake. There were chunks of nuts scattered throughout and it had a savory flavor. It was the perfect savory and sweet combo with the syrup. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. There was a large gift shop/boutique downstairs. Various gifts as well as Minnesota souvenirs. Go check it out if you are in the area!

Amazing good, service and look at that view! Lazy Bear has become a stop along our route because it is consistently great over and over again!

Very very pleasantly surprised, not only by the taste of the food, but also by the quality. I have not had better chicken tenders anywhere. They use real chicken tenderloin, none of this processed stuff, but real chicken. I was blown away when I took a bite and I actually had to chew the meat instead of it just mushing away in my mouth like with all the other chicken tenders meals I've had in my life.
My wife had the cranberry turkey melt with onion rings and really liked it too.
The blueberry pie was overflowing with real blueberries and not just sugared gelatine.
We will definitely stop here again next time we are heading north.
