Rustic Diner

Fantastic little diner nestled in the middle of a small town. One of the best breakfast stops I have been to as the food was phenomenal for everyone in my party. The biscuits and gravy which was on special was amazing. I will totally be stopping back here in the future if I am driving past.

We randomly found this place listed online when we were driving home from hiking on the North Shore and decided to stop in. It was an incredible find! Such a cute diner with amazing food. Very clean, quick service.

My brother and I couldn’t decide what to order so split the chicken tender basket (with great honey mustard) and also split a breakfast scramble. Yum!

They catered our wedding and it was absolutely perfect. They grilled chicken outside of our venue and it was the best chicken we’ve ever had. The meatballs were top-notch and homemade. Todd and Carley were so great to work with. Not only is their catering excellent, we’ve been to their restaurant several times and everything has always been great. Definitely the best caterer in the area, including Duluth and Superior! A hidden gem for sure. Thank you for making our wedding meal perfect. Our guests are still raving and so are we!

Stopped here on impulse. It was a great decision! Burger was done just right. Nicely seasoned and not overdone. Very friendly staff with quick service. Skillets looked delicious! Clean! Hole in the wall place with limited seating, but worth a small wait if need be. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

Driving down Old Highway 61, hungry because the place we originally wanted to go was packed, we passed through Barnum. I saw the Rustic Diner and asked everyone if they wanted to stop. Yes! So we tried out this tiny restaurant in this little town.

We received some stares as we were definite outsiders. A table was available. Services was quick and very good. The menu has a good selection of items for breakfast and lunch. Three of us had burgers and one had a breakfast skillet. My burger was GREAT! I had a double cheeseburger. The patties are about 1/3 pound, so it was a big sandwich. The burger was was beautifully cooked, nice and juicy, with a wonderful seasoning. The Garbage Skillet looked really good and I was told it was.

The Rustic Diner is a place that would be easy to drive by but DON'T. It is well worth a detour.

Family owned little diner that is beyond fabulous for quality of breakfast food. The real gem though is the small town friendly atmosphere (plus the best drip coffee I’ve had). Had two eggs, hash browns, muffin toast, and a blueberry pancake on the side. Everything was delicious and when the young owner’s daughter sweetly offered to refill my coffee, my heart melted. Highly recommend!

We came in a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing experience. Our 15 month old was grumpy from the long car ride and the waiter brought him some toys to cheer him up! They also cut up all of his food which was sooo helpful as it let my wife and I eat right away. On top of that, the Skillets were amazing!

We had breakfast and it was wonderful. Average portion sizes but the cost is way below average breakfast costs. Small restaurant but cute. Will be back!!

Breakfast at this place is phenomenal! Staff is very friendly and they have fast service.

Absolutely adorable little restaurant, cute little town, and amazing food! The staff was super nice, and that bacon, some of the best I’ve ever had! 10/10 I would recommend anyone just driving through Minnesota.

Wow! So glad we researched reviews to find at the Rustic Diner! Burgers were delicious and the pumpkin bars were the best all of us have ever tasted! Great job!

Glad we decided to drive about a mile off freeway to eat breakfast here. The food tasted great and the portions were large for the price and the service was what you would expect for counter service.

Me and my Dad stopped on the ay back from Blckbear. We both had the all eat omlet. It came with hashbrows and a choice if bread. It was all amazing. Highly recommended

Stopped in here after getting turned away with hour long wait times at almost every other breakfast place. And I'm so glad that we did! The food was delicious, the serving sizes were amazing, especially with the pricing. The atmosphere was great, our waitress was phenomenal, everything overall was absolutely amazing! Specifically my friends just could not stop complimenting the toast. You've gotta be something special to impress people with just your toast. You could tell just from the other customers how meaningful this place is to the community, they were all so friendly. I'm going to recommend this place to every person I know coming up this way. Absolutely deserve these five stars!

Was looking for a new place to try and went to the Rustic Diner today for lunch. It does not disappoint. It is a quaint little diner. My husband had a burger and I had the BLT wrap. The burger was cooked perfectly. The BLT wrap was wonderful as well, lots of bacon. The fries are worth getting just on their own. Would definitely recommend.

Wait staff were very friendly even though it was quite busy, and we had a large group.

We were here a few years ago and loved it, so we (wife, granddaughter, and me) stopped in when we were nearby.

All the tables were occupied, and we didn't want to eat at the counter. An elderly man (turns out he is 98) flagged us down and said he and his friend would be happy to share their table with us. We were entertained by them until they finished and left. While we were there, two other tables of people offered to share their tables with others.

Our food was great. Granddaughter ordered breakfast, and my wife and I ordered chicken wraps. HUGE wraps, we took half home.

The staff were friendly and efficient. Our waitress filled us in on the gracious gentleman who shared his table with us.

No question we will return again for great food, great staff, and great customers.

We stopped for breakfast as we traveled through the area. It was worth the stop. I had the bomber skillet and my husband had the garbage skillet. Both breakfasts were delicious. Service was great. We didn’t have to wait long for our food. We’ll definitely stop again when in the area.
