Great place to walk around and look at historic buildings. The oldest house built in Montgomery is there with a few log cabins. Behind the park is a lake and memory park with lots of memorials and is nice to walk around. There is a waterfall going from the Fernland entrance down to the lake. The library is also located there.

We came across this park after going to the nearby mini-golf and we are so glad we did! The history behind the historical houses is so interesting and the docent who gave us a tour was so knowledgeable, engaging and funny. Highly recommended if you are in the area and want to know more about local history.

In the midst of new suburb developments is a quaint reminder of how and why Texas became the lonestar state.. Beautifully preserved historic homes dating from the 1800 and 1900s, with amazing examples of how Texas's forefathers dealt with their struggles (as well as the tools they used to help them) make this an amazing exhibit worthy of your free time! Lastly, if you have the time, get the support staff to give you a "full" tour of all the houses.. It's definitely worth it!

Found this park by accident, and I'm so glad we did! Authentic and educational, but also a very nice stroll. It connects to Memory Park, which boasts many different areas to enjoy nature in.

First time visiting this park. I recommend coming here so you can learn about the history of Texas. This park is located in the city of Montgomery, which was founded in 1837. In addition, one can visit the antique shops, especially the store Texas & Beyond, located on Liberty Street. The entrance to visit the antique houses 🏘 is free and it closes at 3pm. I will come back on Dec 9, where there will be lots of crafts, parades, and activities for the whole family. Is from 9 to 7 pm. The candlelight tour is at 7 pm from 4 to 7. The entrance for the tour is $15 adults and children $5. Come and enjoy the gardens open until 10 pm.

My fiance and I visited last week and had a great time. Bob was a great host and shared tons of info with us about the history of Montgomery and gave us a tour of the oldest cabin on-site. After that I walked around the beautiful pond and nature trail there and fed the countless turtles 🐢 🐢 with food bought for 50 cents from the adjoining library. Many of the things around there are named after Stewart, who is credited with designing the Lone Star Flag of Texas. ⭐

Very nice park, there is some historical homes that you can visit. There's also volunteers explaining the history of each one and you can enter almost all of them. It is a very nice walk since it connects with Memory Park and is a very beautiful park as well.
