Sleep Inn & Suites Mount Vernon

Only thing that could be improved is they need fluffier towels! Everything was clean and breakfast was as good as any hotel breakfasts. Nice place to stay!

Rooms were great. We didn't have many interactions with the staff, but the front desk person was friendly. 30" from Iowa city.

Me and my crew are working in Stanwood just 15 minutes away from the hotel and wanted a good priced hotel were we can get some peace and quite rest after a hard days work we came here and talked with the GM which he and his partner took care of us 100% and this hotel was just what we where looking for including the breakfast in the morning also the pool and hot tub to relax, Ricky the manager was very attentive to our needs during our stay
We will definitely be coming back here.
A+ Hotel

We unexpectedly got a suite with a jacuzzi for $91 plus tax. Bed was comfortable. Shower was adequate. Clean but they need more electric outlets throughout. TV worked great so we could watch the Olympics.

When in Mt. Vernon, IA, I suspect this is the only hotel in town except for some B&Bs. I was pleasantly surprised at how nicely appointed this hotel is, from the lobby to the rooms. It is spacious and contemporary, and a great price. I didn't have breakfast here, but the free buffet looked excellent (nicer than average for hotels in this price point). Parking was plentiful. If you are a parent of a student at Cornell College, book your rooms for parents weekend or graduation well in advance (like when your kid starts college), or else you will have to stay in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids and drive. It is about a 1 to 1.5 miles to campus. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice place, nice pool. Good breakfast. But the front desk was a little lost when it comes to charging the card. If you are gonna stay for any amounts of time just charge the entire amount and if you don't stay that long get a refund bc doing the day by day thing was a nightmare with multiple holding charges applied to my buddies account. (We were splitting a room)

Very clean. Remodeled 2-3 years ago, so very new looking. Staff was very nice. Beds were comfortable, pool was nice, but cold. Typical of most motel swimming pools. Breakfast was really good.

Great, clean, friendly, warm, all the things that make a great hotel! Unlike most, the Sleep Inn lacks that off-putting smell that seems to be found in all hotels. With soft beds and lighting-fast wifi, this is the perfect place to stay- but wait, it gets better! The staff are incredible, providing fresh cookies, advice, help, and they even call your room to make sure you're settled in! Also, there's a Subway and Carl's Jr. less than a minute's walk away.

Everyone was so friendly here. We stayed there for 6 days. And, love that this hotel is close to Cornell Colleage. We liked it so much, we already reserved our room for our next trip. They offer a nice breakfast, and the lady that works in there is very friendly.

My girlfriend and I were visiting family in the area. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The accommodations were very nice. Bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi was a blast. Pricing was very good especially for the size of the suite. Staff was very friendly and even offered later checkout time. Perfect for a date night away from home!

Had to forcefully stay here due to a snow storm, and couldn’t had it any better the assistant General Manager J.J. Martinez made our stay wonderful, and helped us out with a great room at a great rate! Also our little dog was allowed for a small fee! And the breakfast was amazing and hot and tasty! Totally recommend this hotel!

There was a line when I came to check in but the guy at the desk so super fast efficient and friendly, by the time I was done responding to an email on my phone, someone had tapped me on my shoulder and said it was my turn. After checking in, I could see how line went so fast. Usually if it goes that fast the service sucks, but in this case, totally professional and friendly.

On to the room. I stayed in there quiet area and it was awesome. Huge t.vs, dvd player, fridge and a microwave.

The hot tub felt great after a long drive as well. Slept inn so i didn't get to try the breakfast, but the lady still offered me so fruit or doughnuts. Very nice of her.

The Sleep Inn & Suites of Mount Vernon Iowa was a perfect place to stay. We had a family wedding and it was situated close to everything. The rooms were spacious, beds extremely comfortable and accommodations very clean. I am extremely picky and this Sleep Inn exceeded my expectations. Definitely the place to stay!

Really excellent customer service at this hotel! I reserved a room block for our wedding in Iowa City, and the manager, Jason, was far and away my favorite vendor to work with. He gave us very reasonable rates, even on a Hawkeye home game weekend. He was super helpful throughout the whole experience responding to questions (via email or phone) almost immediately. Thanks so much for making this a stress free experience!

Love this hotel~ especially perfect for anyone visiting Cornell College. The staff is very friendly & helpful, (especially JJ!), and the breakfast is better than the other Sleep Inn properties I have visited. They have a pool, hot tub, laundry room, ice machine, and plenty of parking on both sides of the building. There's a Hardee's, Subway, Dairy Queen, a Mexican Restaurant, and an ATM machine at thw bank all within 2 blocks. There's also a grocery store another block or so away, plus a gas station/convenience store that has hot fresh pizza whole or by the slice plus freshly made deli sandwiches.
I've stayed here off and on for 4 years, and the hotel is always clean and has free newspapers in the morning & occasionally free cookies in the evening. (Hot coffee, hot water, and tea bags are always available. ) The beds were comfy, the sheets are nice, and each bed always has 4 pillows. The only thing you may want to verify is if your room has a tub or shower only. *They also have at least one 1 bedroom Suite that has a Jacuzzi in the living room!
The property has 3 floors and an elevator, plus is handicapped friendly.

The service was excellent. Friendly and polite staff. Room was very clean and even the breakfast was awesome. Don’t normally write reviews but this place is amazing. Definitely going back

Hotel/room was clean, had no issues with checking in, was able to have late check out. Suite room was nice size for big family. Pool was clean and open late. Would stay there again.

There are not many hotels in Mount Vernon. We were happy to find the Sleep Inn and Suites. It's conveniently located, clean, and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The pool and hottub looked nice, but we unfortunately didn't have time to visit them.

Nice, clean hotel with spacious rooms. Pool/hot tub area was large enough for our team and parents! Breakfast was hot and eggs were homemade.
