Hangar 6 Air Cafe

We drove in, but we will put this café on the list to fly to. Park your airplane out front and walk straight in the front door. Until today Mugshots in Starksville, Mississippi had the best fried mushrooms I’ve ever had! Hanger six has them beat! Sorry, Mugshots we had burgers and sandwiches, but I would say from the quality everything on the menu will be good. Seems a little pricey but everywhere is nowadays.

Very cool place to grab a bite and watch the air traffic. This is a must visit for aviation enthusiasts.

We tried the fried mushrooms, chicken fried chicken with jalapeno gravy, chicken sandwich, and a chicken salad. All very good. My entire group would definitely come back here again.

Our server, Daisy was the best! The menu wasn't cluttered. It was laid out very well and was also a great history lesson.

Great place in Uvalde right by the airport. I order The Red Tail which is pull pork bbq sandwich with cheese which it was amazing and the fries they were well seasoned. Very friendly place , good for all occasions.

Pretty neat place where you can witness planes landing and taking off. Food was delicious. Got The T6 Texan, did order it with bacon but they forgot it and ended up charging me for it anyways. I let it slide as it wasn't a big deal. it was just a dollar so didn’t bother complaining at the time. Other than that it is a good place to grab some food and watch the planes fly away.

Right on the side of a small airport runway yet convenient to get to from town, Hangar 6 was a fun place to grab lunch. The food was excellent. It tasted and looked like great home cooking up a notch.

I asked for the sauce on the side, and while it was on the shrimp tacos after all, it was great- not heavy handed like some do, and a high quality (tasted home made) sauce. We did have a few ordering hiccups besides that.

From our table, we watched the planes outside as we ate. The themed decor is just right- not overdone but very comfortable.

This is the best place I have ever been to eat in Texas. My first time coming we did fly in, so that might have been part of it, but my family stops here on the way to San Antonio for dinner/lunch every time we go. I have had just about every single one of their burgers and a couple of their sandwiches and I've never been disappointed. The waitrers/waitresses are always so kind and helpful. The inside of the restaurant is gorgeous- the dogfight mural by the checkout counter truly is amazing. The menus are so classy, and a mini history lesson on the airfield's use during WWII. (Full of wonderful pictures and explanations). While waiting for the food, there's a simple playground outside for kids as well as a little soccer pitch! You can't pass this place up- good food, a place to make some memories with your kids playing outside and being right on the flightline! This is a pretty active field too, you'll catch plenty of civilian aircraft passing through or practicing as part of the pilot school here- as well as the odd helicopter and roaming T-6 Texan II's from Laughlin AFB if you're in around lunch or dinner during the week ;). Beautiful restaurant close to the College and Uvalde Memorial Hospital. Great food, great ambiance with a great view. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The Triple Double Burger was worth the trip, my wife enjoyed her Cavatappi Inferno Pasta, and the loaded nachos were awesome. Chef Richard Castle is very welcoming and well mannered. The restaurant has definitely changed since the last time I was there. This visit was a pleasant change. Will be visiting more often. Great job!

Came to eat, but got lucky and we were able to tour hanger next door. Now, Chicken Fried Steak with Jalapeño gravy, Bacon Cream Corn, Slaw, and Brewster Buffalo Sandwich were absolutely great! Great staff, too.

This diner is phenomenal. We landed here after a flight from Addison and discovered this wonderful restaurant on airport property. There was a small crowd playing soccer, and a decent amount of other clientele hanging out. We went in and the decorations were great. The menu was extensive and interesting with a ton of options. Unfortunately, i do not have any photos of the food because it was just that good. If you ever find yourself in Uvalde definitely check it out!

My girlfriend got shrimp tacos and loved them. Her kids got chicken tenders and hamburger both we very happy with their choice. I got a ribeye. Our food was amazing for the price. We can when they were slow and are amazed that this place wasn't packed. A hidden gem in uvalde cousine. Hands down 5 star id given them six if i could cause our server Carson made sure we had a stellar experience!!!

On a road trip to Garner State Park and desperately needed a car charger. Thankfully we found this cafe! What cool place to view airplanes, learn a bit of WW2 aviation history, and eat some great food. I highly recommend to anyone that visits Uvalde.

Had the Red Tail shaved ribeye sandwich. Amazing flavor. The place is very nice and clean. Great service!

Food taste good, we had chicken fried chicken & chicken fried steak. Sides made from scratch. They also has EV charger that Tesla can use.

Road trip to Uvalde to try out the Hanger 6 Cafe. We watched Texas Eats on Saturday and we knew we had to try this out. Let me tell ya...we were not disappointed. My husband and I tried the T6 Texan - Oh My Goodness!😋👍🏻
The T6 Texan has a charbroil thick patty, pico de gallo, cheddar cheese, tortilla strips, avacado slices, tomato slices, onion on brioche bun with homemade fries and homemade pickle slice. Condiments were on the table... I didn't need them. 😋
The place was very clean, super friendly staff and great chef. We most definitely will be back to try another item on their outstanding menu. 👍🏻
Bonus - there was a Texas A&M plane on the runway. 👍🏻

Our second visit to Hanger 6. We ordered the chicken BLT and Buffalo chicken sandwiches. They were delish! We also ordered chicken tenders and they were way better than most. Previously we had dinner there in April. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at night. It was movie night on the lawn played on a very large screen TV. They had live music as well. All this set behind hangers and private planes lining the tarmac. Great fun!

The staff was very friendly, and the food was very good. But you can't beat the setting, the restaurant is on an air field, planes and helicopters leaving and landing. The restaurant is build like it was from the 1940s-1950s war era. I came for lumch, would love to enjoy a dinner and a sunset here.

Good menu, good burger and fries, nice atmosphere if you like Aviation. The waitress was friendly and helpful. Very impressed with the menu presentation and the artwork in the cafe was cool! Hope to visit again someday!

The food is delicious! Portions are very nice, and the flavor is great! Our pick up order was packaged nicely and piping hot. Definitly a plus. The are located right on an airfield so it's neat to be able to see all the little planes. Would probably be a neat place to take the kids. The inside of the Cafe is pretty small, so not ideal for a large group, but a family outting would be nice.
