Seaside Vacation Rentals by Meredith Lodging

Coastal River Haven, with its own dock on the Nehalem River and a peaceful view, was terrific. Super-clean, spacious, well-stocked, an interesting shelf of reading and viewing material, walking distance to Nehalem town and a short drive to the coast at Manzanita. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at Wanda's Bakery/Cafe in Nehalem and dinner at Mighty Thai restaurant in Manzanita. We would stay again.

Things that were great: lots of beds, space, fire pit, dining room, cookware, hot water in showers, heater. Location! 5 minute walk to coffee, restaurant, a few shops & 10 minute walk to the ocean shore.

Things that were good but not great: hot tub was not clean, didn't have enough water in it, and was not hot enough (the sensor may be broken). Cookware was jenky : burned pans, shabby cutting boards, and no Tupperware for food storage... Looked like they bought a bunch of thrift store stuff to fill their kitchen. There was no complimentary tea or coffee.

Things that were not good: the rugs in the living room are peeled up tripping hazards, the coffee table is very unstable, the locks on the doors are outdated and flimsy (didn't feel very safe with the front door that had clearly been kicked in at some point). A wooden board in the front bathroom fell off the wall with no provocation, the same bathroom's shower had poor water pressure. The game cupboard was a mess and most of the games are incomplete and cannot be played. Generally not the cleanest and the owners clearly don't care for the home.

You're better off at the Motel 6 in Seaside, atleast the crackhead housekeepers there can actually clean. Calling this hodgepodge group a "Vacation Rental Company" is a joke, it's clear from the endless addicts they love to employ.

The front door bolt was rusted and inoperable, so we were unable to enter the home, had to lurk around in the dark and come in the basement door. This was one of the houses we rented, it was terrible, it smelled of urine and mold. There was a rug that had urine on it, that somehow was missed during the cleaning process. This was our second bad experience with Meredith lodging and we will not use them again. When asking for a refund we were denied and had to spend more money on a different home the next day. Terrible customer service, not clean, we do not recommend, at all, ever. Don't use this company!!

Cross posting-If you own a short term rental, DO NOT expect top dollar on your rental revenue. I am a property manager and stayed at a property managed by Meredith. Please read guest reviews who have stayed at the homes she manages before you sign a management contract - slow responses, can’t get access to the home, dirty, slow/no customer service, unprofessional, etc etc. Vacasa, Seaside or another professional management company with top notch customer service. Among many other issues, I couldn’t get access to a home I spent $900/night to rent hours after check in-after traveling ALL DAY wirh my kids and no one answered the emergency number. My kids are laying in the yard starving and crying because they are so tired. (Sadly, I later read reviews that this happens all the time to her guests). In desperation I googled the owners number (Meredith) and called her to get access. She finally got me into the home at 7:30pm-check in was at 4:00! The home was in horrible shape and very dirty - I sent her photos of the issues the next day (random dirty clothes left on the dresser, the carpets had trash on them, dirty plates, holes in rugs/tripping hazards). Her staff called me and told me it was inappropriate to call the owner of the company when the staff didn’t answer the 912 number to get me access HOURS after I should have been in. What kind of customer service based owner would allow that to happen to a guest?I can’t imagine ever telling a guest not to bother me and calling them “inappropriate” for doing so:..I wouldn’t let her/her staff manage any of my homes and risk finding out.

WARNING! This is the sort of organization that has infiltrated our communities to the detriment of us all! To think that housing prices and opportunities are rapidly decreasing for all of us and in exchange we get below the bare minimum of amenities and service. This company charged me full price for a reservation I canceled due to Covid. They also asked me to go out and get an official test to prove that I had Covid despite the fact that I was sick and potential infection risk for others. They failed to mention that in doing so would still entitle me to zero consideration. They even charged me the cleaning fees for a reservation that remained empty and could have easily been relet.

Beware! I had to cancel my beach house reservation 10 months prior to our booking and was only refunded 70%. This taught me to always be aware of cancelation policies, however being charged hundreds of dollars to cancel a reservation 10 months in advance is ridiculous! I won't use this company again.

This is BY FAR the worst experience I have ever had renting VRBO or AirBnb. We had a large party of 10, a puppy and children included that checked in to celebrate family birthdays together. Upon checking in the house was disgusting. It hadn't been cleaned, no covid protocols have been taken. The garbage cans all had trash in them.Two of the toilets were filled. One had urine in and all around it, and the other was filled with feces that hadn't been flushed. All of the beds were stripped and the sheets were still in the laundry hamper. There were wet towels in the washer.. Our party was more than disappointed. We spent the first 1.5 hours sanitizing and cleaning the entire property.. To make matters even worse we had been checked in for nearly 3 hours and communicating our concerns they informed us that there is a septic issue and we are not allowed to stay here. Did they offer us a refund? Yes. Is that sufficient, no. They also offered a future credit of 700 to stay with their property, which we have absolutely NO desire to do after this experience. We are left high and dry with NO offer of help for this evening. The absolute WORST lodging experience I have ever had in my traveling experience. There are no words that can properly express the feelings of our party after traveling over 4 hours to stay here for the weekend.

This place is a sham - we had to cancel due to the Covid for a family reunion we had scheduled. The rental agreement I received from them said we needed to cancel 31 days prior for a full refund. I called well before the 31 days came up only to be told that I booked thru a third party and they required 60 days. After pulling teeth they said they would give me 1/2 back. She tried crediting my credit card and for some reason it would not work. I was told a check would be sent within 5-7 days - well it's been 30 as I sit on terminal hold waiting to find out why my check has not arrived. Trust the reviews - this place is a scam.

BED BUGS!!! Our initial reaction to the property was wonderful. Looked and felt clean until day 2 and 3 when my son woke with the bites in the photos. We removed the sheets and found bugs on the sheets and in the seams...just disgusting. Called the PM twice and nothing. They say they are reaching out to get help but nothing. I have video too. In 5 VRBO trips we have never experienced such lack of concern. They are property managers and offer no help.

If I could give 1 star I would have. The place we stayed was okay buy the cleaning could have been better. The management company Meredith is something else. The guy named Chris I spoke over the phone to retrieve the key code was one of the rudest person. I couldn't believe I had to put up with this guy for a property I payed over a grand to stay. The cleaning crew was still there so we had to wait until 5 to get in. When the key code did not work, I called again for clarification but no one answered. It was just a few minutes after 5. I left a voicemail, then a few minutes later figured out the system and was able to get in. Then at around 10:45pm some girl from the office called me. I was rather taken aback for two things - 1. If I had not figured out the key code, we would have been on the street (or some place else) at 10:45pm, 2. She would call at this late time. When I told her that I would have appreciated to have been contacted earlier, this girl abruptly hung up on me. Total lack of professionalism and common courtesy. I will never rent a place managed by these clowns.

Worse place to rent a vacation house. They are very unprofessional. I’m still waiting for my refund after a month. They cancel me 2 days before my trip. They offer a full refund but never receive anything, when I call them never answer

Worst customer service. Very neglectful of inquiries and customer support was extremely condescending. Poor reflection of overall business and would avoid them in the future
