Moonbird Coffee

While today was my first patronage at Moonbird Coffee, it was not my first time at Southbound. However, this morning’s atmosphere was 100% coffee shop: friendly greetings, delicious coffee, plenty of space to sit, cozy design - passing train included. Yes we were not ready to have to leave at 11am, but that just means we’ll be back!

This place is so adorable! Such a gem. It’s spacious with a ton of nice outdoor seating & styled beautifully ~ loved their caramel banana cappuccino. 10/10 recommend ☕🖤✨

One of my favorite coffee houses in the US. The Mexican Mocha is amazing and the staff is great. A friend of mine and I work remotely and met up at multiple coffee houses over the years. When we found Moonbird, it was the only place we wanted to go. I miss it to this day (moved out of state.)

First time exploring this coffee shop. I grabbed a hot coconut coquito cinnamon with oat milk and my guest did the Iced Mexican hot chocolate with almond milk. The menu did describe it as spicy and I am Mexican and drink authentic Mexican chocolate and it does indeed have a little kick. However, the one here tasted like it might have had cayenne pepper. It grew on her and was good overall. If you are sensitive to spices I wouldn’t recommend that one. The coquito was delicious! I will be back. The shop is very low lightening and gave off like a bar environment but also a chill place. The plants are amazing! The staff was very friendly and engaging. Also the sizes are smaller than normal. We ordered larges and they are comparable to a small coffee at let’s say Starbucks. Overall a fun location and great for a meet up with a friend. The hours for coffee are very short so go early!

My favorite coffee shop in Georgia! The service is never not amazing and the coffee is always the perfect boost for my busy days. The breakfast burritos sell out for good reason.

Love the accent brick walls throughout the building, adding an urban loft feel to your coffee sips.
Things you should know:
I. PARKING
The coffee shop is within downtown Chamblee, but luckily you don't have to parallel park. There's a free private parking lot out back ~ easy.
II. SERVICE
Personable and welcoming. They'll make you feel at home. Keep in mind they close at 11:30 a.m. so don't wait to get your coffee kick in.
III. QUALITY
The pastries are made fresh inhouse ~ I got the ginger lemon scone. It's light and not too sweet. If you want something sweeter, go for a muffins. The coffee is standard, but I loved getting the option of 3 to 4 shots in my iced Americano. Not many locations ask in that way.
IV. CAPACITY
Fair amount of available seats, but they fill almost up around 10 a.m. People camp out here to work/study so don't feel judged if you want to do the same..!

Love this coffee shop. They have such a comfy vibe as soon as you enter. Moon bird is on the top of a bar. They have a balcony and a big enough room to fit a decent size squad. The owner is super friendly and offers her own recommendation along the way.

Favorite coffee spot in the area. Casey and Melissa are so genuine and friendly + they make the best coquito and sausage burritos ever. Love Moonbird and would highly recommend!!!

Cute coffee shop! Came here before I was taking my car to get service and was perfect stop. Lattes are well served and staff was very friendly. Parking was easily accessible - there is a lot with many spaces. You have the opportunity to enjoy your coffee on the balcony. They had some television on a large screen. It was peaceful and had a good atmosphere. Didn’t see too many outlets though so if you’re looking to do work make sure your technology is charged before.

I visited this coffee place for the first time this past weekend after wanting to try it out for a long time.

It’s so adorable. Every little thing from the exposed brick, the mismatched wooden chairs, to the train views... tied together so well to create a cozy and intimate setting. Perfect for the enjoyment of a smooth cup of coffee. They also offer a few pastry items. I tried the sweet potato pie and have to say it’s the best I’ve ever had! Please try it if you get the chance.

Finally found a cafe that has good options for those of us that have never been converted to coffee. Chai, matcha and pictured below (sinful Mexican hot chocolate). It's located above the Southbound restaurant and has ample seating. They even make their own breads. Thank goodness I don't live super close or my waistline might not last. 😆

This is an amazing coffee shop! My husband and I tried the mocha, Mexican mocha, the chocolate chip scone and the apple crumb cake. All were delicious. I highly recommend giving this place a try!

What a fabulous little coffee place. Friendly and welcoming, both the baristas and the atmosphere. The Mexican mocha latte was perfection, the balance of spicy heat, the slight sweetness and bitterness of the chocolate, a perfect pull of espresso, and the creaminess of the steamed milk. If I lived locally, I would drink these daily! I also enjoyed a burrito which was delicious, well filled and not all wrapper, like so many are.

The atmosphere is great too, eclectic and fun with exposed brick walls, open beamed ceilings and large windows. Well spaced tables with mix and match chairs allow for plenty of seating options. The room on a grey day was a bit dark but still bright enough to work. Awesome place, can’t wait to return!

Great ambiance, super friendly and helpful barista, and most importantly of all... obscenely fantastic coffee. Hands down the best coffee I've ever had. You must try their Mexican Mocha Latte... It will blow your mind 🤯

My new favorite coffee shop in Atlanta! I'm an engineering graduate student, so I consume a LOT of caffeine on the daily and the coffee here is excellent. I also really appreciate the beautiful, calm space. I wish they were open later, but it's worth going out of my way to make it here before 2:30 PM.

Enjoyed my dirty chai latte here. Prices are comparable to boutique coffee shops. The barista was friendly and carried a conversation while making my drink.

There's free parking. To get to the shop, you go through the restaurant by taking your first right and then go up the stairs. The atmosphere is laid back and open. You don't feel crammed inside. There are extension cords which makes it conducive to working there for awhile. Definitely will be returning.

Moonbird is a gem of a coffee shop in downtown Chamblee. The owners are amazing and you can't beat the prices. The assortment of flavors are always exciting and I love trying new things! I wish they were open a little later in the day but it's okay :) the breakfast burritos are amazing but they sell out fast!

I went here for the first time this morning, and the experience was awesome! They were extremely helpful and the vibes were immaculate. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Walked here from the Chamblee MARTA station to have a cup of coffee before a meeting. It's a pretty, bright, quiet space that feels comfortable and easy. I had a lovely slice of zucchini bread and a cappuccino with a cardamom shot - both precisely what I needed. A great find in the neighborhood.
