I just had a major surgery at this hospital. I was well taken care of from the staff at the ER, as they promptly told my husband and I that we were too early and then gave us directions to the main hospital and the correct time.
The checking in process was smooth, and the staff was very friendly and professional. We got some laughing going into the observation room from nurse Kim... We needed it as we were anxious. While I got ready for the OR, a plethora of doctors and nurses came in and out, EVERYONE was extremely professional and made sure that we're comfortable. A big shout out to my favorite nurse, she was my night nurse(Nurse Andrea). She was very gentle and caring and made sure that I was comfortable. My husband and I will forever be grateful to all the staff that had a hand in my care there. Thank you so much 💓 💗

Nursing, receptionists, and others including the billing department, financial assistance folks any many other departments are very kind. Easy sign in, outpatient registration, ancillary clinic labs and lab techs are excellent.

Wonderful staff! I was on two different floors plus the ER. Everyone treated me with a sense of urgency, kindness & respect. My night nurse, Tom Bair, was an absolute gift from God as he held me when I broke down in tears.
Every staff member including the transporters were phenomenal and I thanked as many as I could from the bottom of my heart.

This hospital is beautiful and clean. The employees, security, nurses and provider treated my mother in a professional and respectful manner. Compared to the treatment of NYC hospital, Samaritan, Watertown is the best. The supervisor contacted a program for to cover her five medications with no personal cost and health insurance resources was provided to help my mother receive Medicaid the next day. We are so grateful for this amazing team at the ER.

I was recently admitted following an ER visit. I found the ER staff to be efficient, kind, and thorough. Once admitted, I received excellent care from a kind and competent nursing team, and had good communication from the doctor.

I came into the emergency room by ambulance so maybe that makes a difference. From the minute I arrived my medical care and treatment was competently and professionally seen to by the ER doctor, nurses and staff. I was bleeding, bones broken and in a lot of pain and I cannot imagine receiving better care anywhere. When I was ready to leave that day my wounds had been stitched, bones put in place with temporary cast ready for surgery that would take place in several days. All with proper meds and minimal pain.

I recently had minor outpatient surgery at the Samaritan Hospital in Watertown, NY. My experience was top notch. All the support staff as well as the nurses(Jennifer and Haley Reff to name a few), the anesthesiologist and Dr Robert Kimball made me feel comfortable while easing my anxieties. My operation was just as I was told it would be and was a success. I highly recommend the outpatient clinic at Samaratin Hospital!

Jeers. They added masks again. Masks cause cancer. Google "Mask study published by NIH ". And see for yourself.

The emergency room at this hospital was one of the worst experiences. I got there at 1:00 p.m. and they told me there was not an abscessed cyst because they couldn't see it and the ultrasound until they brought down the Hospital Ob-Gyn. He's the one that's on that whether it shows one or not there has to be one there so then they had to admit me. Once I got upstairs I sat there for 2 days with only seen the general surgeon for 5 minutes. She kept telling me there was nothing there and it was only when I told him I was leaving and going back to my doctor because I knew they were wrong and what they were doing was failing, Dr Daniels then they should do another ultrasound. And if in fact there was a cyst only then would she open it up. I wouldn't let Dr. Daniels touch me with a 10 ft pole. She was a bully I did not listen to me one bit. She had her mind made up and it didn't matter about my health and safety. All she cared about was not being wrong. She should not be the general surgeon there or anywhere! I will say that the nurses Amanda Matthews and Kim were very nice and caring. They were so helpful as I was crying my eyes out.

Don’t even bother. Went in with vomiting (uncontrollable vomiting for 6 hours) abdominal pain- was vomiting up blood. They did zero imaging- didn’t even do IV fluids. My urine was almost brown. Never heard once saw a DR. They did nothing to find the source of the issue just sent me home with some nausea meds. They did do blood work, but I never got the results.
There were 4 patients in the ED so certainly not an issue with it being super busy.

I went there because I was struggling with HG. They proceeded to stick me 3 different times trying to draw blood and get an IV going and I told them that I ALWAYS have issues with my veins. They never tried to do a smaller needle aka butterfly until the lab tech, China came in. She was awesome! She only had to come in because it was so hard for them to draw blood and by the time they drew it, they said it was clotting. So altogether I get stuck 4 times. When they thought they had a vein for the IV, (she literally stabbed me in my arm and kept moving the needle around) they started pushing fluids and I told the nurse that it was hurting. She said I had a small bump but it could have been there before so she continued to try to push fluids. I told her again it was hurting and by this time, my whole arm was getting sore. At this point you could see a bubble under my skin where the fluids were just pooling up. She removed the IV and I told her don’t try to stick me again and just give me a dissolvable tab. She responded with “we’re gonna have to stick you again” and I told her can I just try the tab. They gave me the tab and I was doing better after that. It took 3 different people to try to poke me and none of them seemed to know what they were doing and that made me and my spouse very uncomfortable. Thank you, China for all of your help but everyone else outside of intake was a nightmare! Today I went to remove my bandaids that the nurse put on me and it literally ripped a layer of my skin off. It’s like they used the strongest adhesive they could find and put it on such a sensitive part on my body. I will more than likely go to Carthage for any future emergencies. I’ve attached pics and circled where they stuck me and also where the bandaid ripped my skin. That’s also where they tried to continuously push the IV.

Worst hospital I have ever brought my children to. This hospital is a huge disgrace to the medical community. Having a child with an actual medical emergency wait for 6 hours before a doctor will see them is disgusting!!! Do not go here ever!! Will be calling patient advocacy first chance!!!! I rate it a -5!!!

The fees involved in seeing a nurse practitioner in the hospital was not explained in advance of my appointment, nor when I reported to my appointment and I incurred extra fees above and beyond what the insurance will pay and what I was expecting. I called multiple times to discuss my account and was told someone would call back. I didn't receive the past 2 calls that I requested.
The billing dept just sends out bills - does not return phone calls (despite the call center being quite nice) - and they hide behind sending mail - instead of actually calling the patient to discuss the account.
I worked in healthcare for over 25 years and I find this cowardice/reluctance to speak with a patient quite appalling. If I told a patient I would call them back - and notes indicated to "call a patient," I would actually CALL them back ~ that is good manners.
I really feel the sending bills - in the hopes patients will just "go away" - or finally just pay it without actually discussing bills with them is really not "service," and is disappointing after having experienced excellent service in Alexandria Bay (Dr Ogden), and in Syracuse at St Joseph's (Dr Adelson). I never received any "surprise/expected" bills from them. Samaritan's billing dept falls VERY short of the other medical facilities I've been to.
All I wanted was someone to take my concerns seriously and call me back as promised. I received yet another bill today. It's the principle of this. If you didn't inform a patient that there would be additional fees, and then you won't actually call them back - what can you infer based on that?
I have no idea if writing this review will get a call that I had been **promised** I would get more than once, and didn't - who knows?! Up to this point I've been made promises of communication that never materialized. This would make me question quality of care. If you cannot get someone to return a simple phone call - would you want to entrust them with your family's health?

Told my wife her collapsing and turning blue was in her head or blood sugar. After going to an actual decent doctor was told she has a heart condition. I went for abdominal pain was told it was gas, found out it was a stomach disease. They should be shut down.

Absolutely the worst medical care you can receive in L&D. If you are a military spouse or POC, do NOT go here. My husband was with our daughter in another room & I asked the nurse to get him, as I was in active labor. She lied to him & said, “your wife thinks she’s in labor, but she’s not.” Neither the midwife nor nurse could recognize active labor, so I birthed my second daughter unassisted, just as I was about to get an epidural. The anesthesiologist ran from the room, as he was about to poke me with the needle just as the baby came. Any time I asked for help, the attending nurse just rolled her eyes and said “UM, NO, I think you’ll be fine.” This was *during labor* when I asked for things like help walking across the room and an epidural. If this had been my first birth, I can’t imagine how it would have ended, because of how horrifying the staff was. The Midwife did not even attend the birth, she showed up 2 hours later although she was present in the hospital and it was NOT a busy night. Again, during labor I was advised to “keep (my) legs shut till the Midwife gets here,” even though my daughter was CROWNING. You cannot just shut your legs during delivery! The medical advice to just “stop” giving birth while in labor was absolutely terrifying, especially since she was a couple of weeks early. Someone from the janitorial staff repeatedly asked me about breastfeeding, then told me I should go home since my daughter was in the NICU and it didn’t matter if I was there. As in, a mother and baby don’t “need” to be together. Why was the janitor aware of my personal info? Why were they allowed to enter a new mom’s room and ask them about breastfeeding? Incredibly unprofessional, a traumatic experience. If you are not a local, do not consider this hospital for labor and delivery, make the drive somewhere else or birth in your home state. At home births are illegal in NY, FYI. But if you are a first time Mama or there for Drum, know that you’ll need your own Midwife and support system to deliver here, as the staff they employ is NOT normal, they are not respectful, and their medical advice could absolutely harm you and your child.
