i'm a healthcare student & first-time pet owner of 2 young cats. my 1 y/o cat grayson has been a joy in my life but unexpectedly, he has had medical issues beginning shortly after i adopted him, from atopic dermatitis to parasites, gingival hyperplasia & a likely autoimmune condition. with each challenge that he has presented with, i have been able to work through it & help him thanks to dr. paul & the staff at montville animal hospital.

our most recent challenge was a complete dental extraction due to his gingival hyperplasia -- all of the staff (especially ali & sue who i worked the most with; they are the sweetest & always so helpful) were so kind to my boy during his preop work & operation. dr. paul was very attentive, caring & informative each step of the way. despite me just being a student, he accommodated my circumstances so it could be possible for me to do what was best for my baby, & i will be forever grateful for that kindness. he is one of the few in healthcare who are actually in it for the patients, & not just for the money. if you care about your pets i wholeheartedly recommend this practice -- your babies will have the best care in the area. i know my boys are in good hands with montville animal hospital :)

I am so relieved I found this place for my guinea pig who was having trouble eating! Dr. Kara is extremely experienced with guinea pigs and after another vet insisted Puff's teeth weren't the issue, Dr. Kara knew right away that indeed, his teeth were the issue. As soon as she filed his incisors down, Puff started eating some solids again! He's going in again to have X-rays and his molars filed, and I feel completely confident in this place. I also chatted with Dr. Paul who was knowledgeable and caring. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the waiting area is gorgeous!

Montville Animal Hospital is amazing! The staff is so caring and sweet, especially Ali and Jessica. My 16 year old pup is a nervous lady. She was nervous but she was given so much love and attention. Dr Kara Schubert is so knowledgeable and incredible! I highly recommend them so much! My pup usually has an upset stomach after the vet or not herself after, but after this visit she was still her spunky self! Even Pepper behind the desk is the best helper ever she made my little lady even more comfortable ❤

Montville Animal Hospital takes great care of our crazy Golden Retriever, Sonny. From reception to the veterinarians, we could not recommend them enough. As a first time dog owner, they have gone above and beyond to answer all of my questions and concerns. We feel we are in great hands!

Dr. Kara was extremely knowledgeable about all of the needs of my leopard gecko. I couldn’t believe how well she handled her and how experienced she is with lizards. She spent so much time with me educating me about my pet’s needs and did her best to save her. She certainly went above and beyond. The prices were very fair. I will bring all of my animals to her going forward. The woman at the front desk was also very friendly, and the building itself was warm and welcoming.

They treated my kitten Lily so kindly and with genuine care. Truly made my boyfriend and I comfortable with our first visit and our furbabies! Beautiful waiting area (with an amazing frog enclosure) and kind staff from beginning to end. Highly Recommend!!

Staff is very sweet and informative. We fully trust them to care for our elderly cat and guinea pig.

Dr. Paul is one of the best vets around. I immediately felt comfortable when I walked into the office with my pups. He answered all my (many) questions and put me at ease with the medical care.

Each time I have needed to visit Montville Animal Hospital it has been an absolute pleasure. The staff here is very kind and caring, they always greet and interact with my pup. Dr. Schubert is wonderful, very knowledgable and explains things clearly, our dog had a back injury and he explained the different courses of action we could take. Hands down, the best vet we've come across and very grateful to have found them!

Montville Animal Hospital is the best vet your pet can have. The team that works there is very friendly and compassionate. The doctors are very professional and the explanation they give is in a way that can be understood, they take their time without rushing it. The place is super clean and they are very compassionate, they make me feel that they really care about my dogs and above all the price is reasonable compared to other places. My family used another local vet for decades so naturally, I started using the same one when I got my own pets. However, after several bad experiences and giving them several chances, I knew it was time for a change.

I was fortunate enough to know that Montville Animal Hospital was where I wanted to go--the staff it all kind, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Kara and Dr. Paul always go out of their way to fit you into the schedule to be seen. They take their time to explain everything so you really understand what's going on. I never feel rushed or like an inconvenience.

The waiting room is warm and welcoming, with lots of things to look at and keep your interest including an awesome frog tank. And if you're lucky, Pepper will also be there to greet you behind the desk!

We love Dr. Paul and Dr. Kara! We've actually been bringing our pets here since before they took over. It was good then, but Dr. Paul and Dr. Kara are what keeping us coming back, even after we moved out of town. They're kind, thoughtful, and available (hello, dog who ate raisins on a summer Saturday afternoon!). Not to mention they ALWAYS follow up with you whenever your pet is in for any reason from a wellness visit to something specific. Huge fans!

Hands down, the best Veterinarian services around. From the initial phone call to make your appointments to the Vet Techs who care for our pets are amazing. Dr. Paul is truly a compassionate Dr. who cares for the well-being of every animal. He takes as much time as needed to explain everything about our pet's health and wellness, and no unnecessary tests are done. You are given different options on which route you want to take, whichever is best for you and your pet. I have followed Dr. Paul because he is one of the most caring Dr.'s. FIVE STARS is not enough!

Their kindness and knowledge is unmatched. I've been a pet owner since I was 7 and these guys are the best. From the moment we walk in I feel as if there is a genuine care and concern for my pet and for me. I love that they're open to different methods of treatment to find what works best for a pet. Dr. Schubert and staff are the best! I have been a client at Montville Animal Hospital for over 20 years. The care and professionalism everyone has at this animal hospital is incredible. The transition from Dr. Skeels (due to her retirement) to Dr. Schubert was seamless. Dr. Schubert helped my 20 yo cat cross over the bridge with incredible compassion and empathy. Now I have two kittens that I have entrusted their health and wellness to both Dr. Paul and Dr. Kara since day one. We are all very happy with every vaccination and their neutering. Each and every visit is complete and I have never been over charged. From receptionist to surgeon, this is a great practice.

The best experience I've ever had with a vet, hands down. Very difficult to find exotics-friendly providers in and around Morris County, let alone for an emergent visit...I am blessed to have found them when my 4yo rabbit started showing some concerning symptoms. Recently moved and bad on me, I waited to find new bunny vet until I needed one. Just the kindest group - welcoming, caring, calming. They saw me same day, Dr. Kara was so gentle and attentive, I've never previously seen a doctor handle my boy with such compassion and professionalism. She treated him right in office, I think he was so comforted and relaxed, he started improving that night. Cost was also very fair. Would absolutely recommend to other bunny owners ❤💯
