The Fox and the Grapes Bed and Breakfast

This was the first time my wife and I visited the Finger Lakes and our first time staying at a B&B. The room/home was beautifully adorned and offered old time charm with modern convenience. The food and coffee service were excellent. Most importantly, the owners make you feel very welcome and go out of there way to make sure you have a wonderful experience.

The Fox and Grapes is a beautiful and comfortable classic New England house with a view of Lake Seneca. The owners are very friendly and helpful.

The Fox and the Grapes was a charming place to stay with beautifully decorated rooms that were clean and well stocked with amenities. A detailed itinerary was provided with local restaurants and other sites to visit. The back deck was perfect for sitting and watching the stars or enjoying your morning coffee. Very quiet and peaceful...almost felt like we had the place to ourselves! Breakfast was an amazing bonus...delicious and homemade!! Would 1000% stay again!

We had the best time here. We were greeted by Schnitzel, Wendy, and Russ when we arrived. They are very sweet and accommodating. Our stay came with a very nice cheese tray, which included multiple varieties of cheese on it. It paired perfectly with our local wine. On the 2nd day of our stay, we had a fire in the back yard and had a great time sitting with the other couples and the owners chatting and laughing. They are super down to earth and nicest people you will meet. Our room was great, and the bed was so comfortable that you felt like you're at home. We have not slept this well on vacation in a very long time. Breakfast was amazing both mornings. We had stuffed French Toast 1 morning and Huevos Rancheros the next morning. There is a pond in the front yard that has a bunch of frogs and tadpoles in it. I can watch the water cascading down the waterfall into the pond. There is a huge porch we sat on each morning and evening. You can look out at the lake and in the evening we watched the sun setting. The Fox and the Grapes bed and breakfast is close to many wineries, distilleries, and breweries. There is also a trolley in town you can purchase tickets for, and they will take you to some of the wineries on the lake so you dont have to drive. We had some a fantastic time and will definitely be back next year.

Great B&B. Lovely owners. Super meals. 20 minutes from Watkins Glen. Close to a dozen or more wineries. Had a fantastic time.

What a wonderful place to stay! The breakfast is out of this world, you truly won't get anything better than Kim's cooking! And the fresh ingredients used... so so good. The views from the common area and deck are just fabulous, its a great place to kick back and relax after a day out seeing Seneca Lake. The room was cozy with a great fireplace, loved the bedspread a lot too. The owners Bud, Kim and Guinness just made this the best stay possible. I loved coming downstairs and listening for those little paws coming to greet us and the visit while in the common areas.

Very nice, quiet, and relaxing place to get away. Home made breakfast is excellent! Location is right in the middle of a bunch of wineries and within a 20 minute drive to lots of places to eat, hike, shop, and visit. Also has a very nice view of a part of Seneca lake and the beautiful hills on the other side. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway this is one of the best!

Stayed with Wendy, Russ and Schnitzel 😀 for two nights during the 2021 Grand Prix festival in Watkins Glenn. Such welcoming hosts and a beautiful B&B.
We really enjoyed hanging out in the evenings, the beautiful setting, making new acquaintances, and the short drive to town. A great location, beautiful setting and fantastic hosts. Breakfasts were great and we felt very much at home the entire stay.
Would definitely recommend and we will return!

Incredible b&b! Hosts were extremely friendly (as was their loving dog)! Breakfast each morning was delicious. Beautiful house with cozy rooms, extremely comfortable beds. Location is great, close to many vineyards and state parks including Watkins Glenn. Can't thank Bud and Kim enough for a wonderful stay, would very much recommend!

The location and the uniqueness of this bed and breakfast stands out from others we have visited. The Stella room was beautiful and we loved seeing the lake from our window. The deck is most impressive and the grounds are very nicely maintained. The hosts are unique, Kim and Bud. They make you feel so welcomed . The breakfasts were memorable. I can't say enough good things about our stay at The Fox & the Grapes! From Kim's fabulous breakfasts (literally, the best ever), to the gorgeous views of the lake, to Guinness roaming the property being the sweetest dog ever, to the clean and charming rooms, to the amazing location amongst a string of wineries and restaurants. I felt like I could unplug and enjoy life's simple wonders during our stay on Seneca Lake - so much so that we unexpectedly decided to stay another night! As a I sit at home, Fox & the Grapes mug in hand, I remember the lovely stay at a place I can't wait to return to. Kim & Bud (&Guinness) - Thank you!

The hosts, Kim and Bud, were so welcoming! We were greeted in the driveway by their sweet dog, Guiness. The property was beautiful, the room was clean and spacious and the bed was so comfortable! The breakfast each day was delicious! Their location is central to many wineries, restaurants and hiking. We highly recommend staying here!!

My wife and I spent 3 days and nights at The Fox & the Grapes B&B and I am inclined to say that it is the best B&B we have ever been to. I really didn't know what to expect and was kind of surprised that I was even able to get a room, reserving so late into the season. The owners Kim and Bud couldn't be any nicer which to me is what will ultimately define your experience at any B&B. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the air conditioning worked incredibly well. The view of the lake from the house truly can't be beat. As for the breakfast part of the equation, for one of the meals, I told Kim that the special French Toast dish she made was the best I ever had. The other meals we had were equally enjoyable. and the coffee was great. It will be hard to find any place better than the Fox & The Grapes.

Great B&B! This is a beautiful house and property in a fantastic location to visiting many of the areas wineries, breweries, hiking spots, etc. Breakfast was delicious each morning and the view of the lake from the deck can’t be beat. Bud and Kim were so welcoming, as was their sweet dog Guinness. We try to visit the area once a year and will definitely return to The Fox and the Grapes the next time around! Thank Bud and Kim for a great weekend getaway!

Just finished our 6th year up at the Finger Lakes - we love the B&B - we keep coming back each year - Kim & Bud are wonderful hosts with delicious breakfast!!! The rooms are clean & comfortable! The location is central to many great restaurants, breweries & vineyards! Highly recommend!!

Just had a wonderful stay with Kim and Bud. They run a very professional operation. The breakfasts were very tasty. They were more than happy to provide recommendations that turned out to be wonderful. They really helped make our anniversary trip a great experience. Would certainly stay with them again.

Stayed in the balcony room. It’s perfect getaway. V cosy & clean rooms. The view was nice & close to nice wineries & breweries. The hosts were very friendly & the breakfast was v good!

ABOUT AS GOOD AS IT GETS.............
Bud and Kim are superb hosts ! They have created a truly impeccable bed and breakfast. We have been there several times and this last visit was better than all the other times. This wonderful accommodation is like good wine.....It just keeps improving with age........Check it out!

Very clean, comfortable, great atmosphere and the hosts are fantastic. Their dog Guiness is friendly and fun. Breakfast is excellent and close to lots of fun things to do. We would definitely stay again.

My wife and I stayed at the Fox & Grapes in December 2013 for the Deck the Halls event weekend. This B&B was fantastic in all the important areas:

1. location = perfect, just minutes from wineries and places to eat (try Dano's, it was great)

2. Rooms- nicely kept, tastefully decorated in period victorian style, and very comfortable. Wifi worked fine. While I didn't mind that there was no TV in my room, others who are more picky may wish to have the TV (you're in wine country though!).

3. Breakfast was excellent. The owner of the B&B is a talented chef who cooked a wonderful breakfast for all those staying at the B&B.

4. Staff- courteous, quiet, and very informative. They can recommend places to go and also offer brochures/print info that they have on-hand.

Overall, this B&B was great. in my opinion, it's a much better alternative than spending similar amounts of money at a dump motel/hotel that is miles and miles away from everything.
