The Original Barber Shop

3-16-24 Called today to see if they could squeeze me in, thankfully they were able to. Arrived to my 2:30 appointment, was greeted by a younger gentleman, no wait. My haircut was done by a Si who was exceptionally kind, attentive and overall great at what he does.

The previous barber shop I had been going to in crystal regularly, sorta quite showing up to his own shop, yet continued scheduling appointments. With all of the chain shops around, ready to give ya your next shotty hair cut, it can be hard to find one you're actually happy with. I am very very happy to have found this barber shop, will definitely return. Overall a very nice atmosphere and conveniently located.

FYI when walking in the main front entrance, make the first right.

The price is very reasonable, the shop is clean and tidy, and Mr. Si is always friendly. Most importantly though is the quality of his work is CONSITENTLY well above average. I have been getting my hair cut by him exclusively for the last 3 years (give or take) and have never left disappointed with the hair cut.

Was in the area on a date with my wife and decided to get a haircut. After 5-6 places told me they were full, TOBS was my last call. I'm glad, because Si was an absolute professional and joy to interact with. Best haircut I've had in years. I will make the hour drive every 5 weeks from now on!

I first started going to Si about 12 years ago when he was with his old employer, he was always the most popular barber there - and I always jokingly encouraged him to open his own place. When Si left great clips I was crushed - I hopped around bad haircut to bad haircut - until one day I discovered that he had indeed opening his own pace - and I could not be happier. ANYWAY - Si is seriously the best barber ever, he is so nice, polite and timely but never feels rushed. He will give you the best haircut you have ever had that I am confident of. I go to him every 5 weeks and know that he will do an outstanding job - and he always delivers - not to mention that his prices are great as well. If you are looking for a great mens haircut that will make you look and feel great - Si is the best on the market.

Been coming here for a few years now. I call in beforehand and can usually get an appointment same day or the following day. The haircuts are great, well priced, and the service is great/friendly and timely too. My favorite place to get a haircut in the Twin Cities by far!

I lost my hair stylist of 20+ years a couple months ago and had to find a good haircut. I tried these guys and was extremely impressed! I got the best haircut of my life! The gentleman cut my hair exactly as I specified. What a great find! As it turned out, my friend's nephew has been using these barbers for awhile and really loves their haircuts too.

Si has been cutting my hair, along with my fathers for about 8 years now and we both have yet to have a bad experience or haircut with him. He is very professional and always welcoming to returning and new clients. The shop is always extremely clean with very comfortable barber chairs. Si is a perfectionist with scissors and trimmers and rarely makes mistakes. The head massage, hot towel, and neck shave on request is always a nice relaxing bonus. I drive an extra 10-15 minutes to get my hair cut by Si, rather than going back to great clips or somewhere like a sport clips, where you just don't get the same experience as you do at the Original Barber shop. Would highly recommend to someone of any age.

Having recently moved to the area and being picky about my haircut - I knew this was going to take some time. I've been to several in the area and even found someone that did a great job. However, I like to get my haircut every two weeks and 65 each time (with tip) was more than I could stomach. So I found Si and haven't looked back. Top was a little shorter than I thought I wanted but styled it looks fantastic, fade up to it is top notch (I do a zero to 1 into "long" hair). With a quick turn around time and cheap prices...he has gained a long term customer!

Moved to the Maple Grove area from Indiana for a period of two years for work, and am now returning back to Indiana. I can sincerely say that haircuts from this man will be within the list of top things I miss most about the Twin Cities. The reviews don't lie. Make an appointment and you will have no regrets. I just moved to the maple grove area and usually go to Sport Clips and it has been hit or miss on their skill level...I decided to give this place a chance today and it was the best haircut I have ever received. It was surprisingly quick, and just like the other reviews say, he pays attention to detail like crazy and I am nothing other than impressed. Nicest guy ever on top of it all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I like going here as it’s the most reasonably priced location ever. They are fast but make sure you tell them what you want. You have to schedule two or three days out.

So excited that Si has his own shop. His skill and attention to detail is head and shoulders above the standard express cuts treatment you get at a quick-cut place. I was so sad when he left the Plymouth Great-Clips. I told my wife that it was so nice to find a barber who didn't just cut my hair, but actually groomed me. He cleans up eyebrows, ears, and yes, even your nose so you leave looking sharp! Hard to find that anywhere else these days. He's a true professional!

I visited Si when he was at Great Clips in Plymouth. I am so happy to have found him again owning his own shop! At this new shop, Si takes it to the next level. He's always taken special care of my eyebrows, nose hairs, ear hairs (he asks permission) but now he includes a head rub, and a straight razor shave of the back of your neck.

He is always so happy to see me when I come to visit him. I've missed his warm welcomes.

His prices are "too" reasonable for the service he provides. So take advantage of the great deal :)

Si takes such pride in his work and is so kind to all his customers. There are lots of good barber shops out there but I have never found one so clean, modern and with such a consistent result. To top it off Si genuinely appreciates your business and has classic professionalism of a seasoned craftsman of his trade.

I had a nice fuzzy beard I grew for two months and I wanted to try getting a straight razor shave just to try it. I saw that Si had a great reputation around the area as a cheap and excellent barber. You gotta love local small shop barbers. It's my wedding in a week and I've never been here, but I put all my trust in the gentleman cutting my hair. This was an old school barber experience in a modern shop. One of the best haircuts I've ever received. Ever.

Needed a last minute cut, and was reluctant to try somewhere new. I went here due to the positive reviews from Google. I was not disappointed. Mr Si Vuong was great. He greets you with his smile and positive energy, and treats you like royalty. His shop is absolutely spotless and clean. The Original Barber Shop is owned and operated by a kind man named Si that makes you feel welcomed and at-home. You can tell that Si takes pride in his craft and has passion for his business. I've been going to The Original Barber Ship since its opening. Great location near I-94 and Hemlock in Maple Grove. Very reasonable prices.

Be sure to call ahead of time to confirm that the shop is open and that Si has availability. Si likes to accomodate appointments. The shop isn't open on evenings, which could be inconvenient for some... so just call ahead to be sure.
