German American State Bank

I stopped in here to merely exchange $150, seven twenties and a ten, for a nice one hundred, and a fifty to put in a card for a wedding my wife and I are attending this weekend. Full disclosure, I do not bank here (nor will I ever after this experience), but I am in their system as I have purchased license plate renewal stickers here for the past few years, and have also done this type of exchange with them. When I stopped in yesterday, I was told "the rules have changed." I wasn't aware of any previous "rules." I was told by the somewhat snarky employee that to do this now, I would be charged 10% to merely exchange $150 for $150. I asked the woman "so I have to pay $15 for exchanging equal amounts of money?" She nodded and I took my money off the counter and said "no thanks!" She shrugged her shoulders and I turned around and walked out the door.

Not the worst bank out there but it isn’t far off with unannounced hour changes to bad customer service German American won’t have my business any more.

Horrible customer service, horrible hours. Time to find a new bank

The Bank is just Getting Worse been there for years and they accept for a loan but then milk it for a week and ended up getting bought… I miss having heslop as my loan dealer this new lady doesn’t know what she is doing or what she is saying….
