Funderburg Forest Preserve

Absolutely gorgeous! Amazing park with both prairie and dense forest. You get to cross a creek several times (there is stepping stones). Dog friend as long as they are on a leash. Tons of native plants! Beautiful beyond expectations!!!

Absolutely gorgeous land! Beautiful variety of mature woods, prairie, wildflowers and a wonderful stream flowing through the property with large limestone stepping stones to cross. This is a very scenic walk, Truly a treasure for Winnebago county!

It's like I went to heaven. This is the best walking/hiking park around. We stumbled on this thinking it was a rest stop, we got ourselves lost the first time and walked five miles, on the second visit we took a photo of the map and walked another five miles. You lose track of how far you are walking because there is so much to see, the scenery is so beautiful. Thank you to the Funderburg family for sharing this land for everyone to enjoy.

Over 800 acres of trails so be sure to give yourself some time. You'll need it if you get lost like I did. I got 8 miles in that day. Lol Great forest preserve with lots of history.

It is a very nice place to walk your dog. It's too bad the park district can't mow the trails. They seem to do a good job at the other parks in the area. Why not here!
