Amazing food in a cozy setting! We had the filet mignon and the boar tenderloin. The filet was good, but the boar was great. The herbed goat cheese was a great way to get things started. They have a nice selection of wine as well as a good menu of mixed drinks. It's a little out of the way to get there, but well worth the trip.

In the quant little town of Mattawan sits 1 of 2 sister restaurants. Bird dog, it's sister being dog in the bank in Plainwell, MI. Both are amazing. Let's talk bird dog though. I've eaten here at least 10-20 times and have yet to have a bad meal. Amazing flavors in everything. The drinks are top notch and the bourbon selection is decent as well. Service is prompt. It's cozy, a bit tight, but that's the charm of this place. Solid flavorful food in an inviting atmosphere.

Nice small family owned spot. Amazing food and service. I got the double cheese burger, and my wife got the fish and chips. I also got the apple cider spritzer.

Small and a little loud at times, but worth it. The menu is smaller than most, but focused AND delicious. Pretty good drink menu. The carrot cake dessert was to die for.

My sister and I stopped by for brunch on a Sunday and the food was so amazing. Totally worth the wait time if you have flexibility. The staff was working hard to take care of all the diners, and the food was outstanding. I ordered the chilaquiles and they were incredible. Highly recommend this restaurant. We’ll definitely be back for some dinner sometime!

Brunch today was fandamtastic!! We got there right at open to make sure we could get a table because this place fills up quick...and for good reason. The food was amazing. Had the firecracker cauliflower to start. WOW! Perfectly breaded and crispy, nice heat but not overpowering, and excellent flavor. My steak and eggs were perfection! Both steak and eggs were cooked exactly as I ordered. The mushrooms, arugula, potato combination complemented every thing perfectly. I do not recall what cheese was on the potatoes, but it was very mild with just the slightest tang. Oh my gosh! Long story short- it was all delicious! Finished off with their tasty carrot cake.
We were helped by two incredible servers, Jaime and Tony. They were both courteous, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, and just provided a wonderful experience all around.
We love this place! Be prepared for your meal to get a bit pricey, depending on what you order, but the food and experience are well worth it. Will definitely be back again.

We have been here several times but this is the first time we sat at the bar. This is a very intimate space so watching the kitchen staff interact with each other was pretty cool. I must say the kitchen is really clean and I was seriously impressed. Now onto the food, as with any other time we come here we start off with the firecracker cauliflower and it’s just simply amazing. We both ordered burgers that were cooked perfectly and were delicious.

One of the best places I’ve ever been to eat. The food is so good I almost don’t want to leave a good review just to keep people away from it. The servers are kind, quick, and consistent. Every time I’ve been it has been amazing, and the fire cracker cauliflower is a must try….. But if the stars align and you find yourself lucky enough to order their shrimp and grits, then you will experience something I still think of to bring me out of my darkest of moments.

Incredible food. Family owned small business. Fantastic brunch, lunch, and dinner. Great service, accommodating, fantastic food, and always fresh flowers on the table. Cocktails are wonderful and change with the season. Photos are from brunch.

We came for brunch fory birthday today, and ordered the Dutch baby and the Reuben Benedict. Honestly, this is one of the best meals we've ever eaten! We can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu

Food was great. The space is small, we waited for about 20 min on a Wed day night. Next to a public parking lot. We loved the firecracker cauliflower. The butcher's cut steak had nutty aroma and dry chimichurri which I like. Short ribs had pot-roasty feel, hearty, with delicious mash potatoes. Will come back.

Edit: brought my parents and my gosh, the salmon was exquisite! More pics just to entice others to patron this restaurant!!

The lobster roll and hangar stick were just perfection, and the key lime pie??? I am willing to drive back just for more of that pie!!!

I have been here many times, and each time I have loved what I've gotten. My boyfriend (updated: Fiance) and I always split whatever we are getting, and I have never had something that I didn't like. They also have a nice alcohol section. Would definitely recommend going here, but depending on when you go there might be a bit of a wait since there are limited tables. But definitely worth the wait

Oh also, they always have cute little flowers on the table which i think is a really nice touch

Stopped here on our drive home from Chicago!! Amazing find food was out of this world delicious. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was perfect.

Every visit is exceptional. Food, beverages, vibe, service…all wonderful and very consistent. Highly recommend eating at the bar, as the kitchen is fully open and it’s a treat watching to dishes get prepared and plated.

I’m originally from Eastern Europe and this place always hits the spot with excellent flavors. My favorites are oysters, carpaccio, and venison tartare. I always wish they had more space and I do absolutely love their igloos, but you just have to get there at the right time to get a spot 😁.

Best steak and lobster ever. The flavor was excellent. Very small place, the acoustics were a little loud but we came on a busy night. Prices were more but the food was well worth it.

First time here. LOVED it! Happened to show up during happy hour. There is a great food and drink menu for it. We tried the old fashioned and they were made perfectly!!! We had a spin on their popular chicken sandwich called Johnny goes to India. Yum!!!!! The fries were great too with seasoning on them. Also had the fried green tomatoes with burrata and it was fantastic!!! Small place but worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back! Would love to see a place like this in Lansing!
