Great experience everyone is so helpful and the staff is very nice and helpful. This library is next door to a school, so if you are looking for a quote on quote quiet branch please try to avoid the 3 to 4:30pm rush hour. It does get loud with all the kids coming from the school. Other than that the library is gem ☺ 10 free pages each day, mobile printing, wifi hotspots to be checked out (must place it on hold tho). Good selection of books for adults, kids and teens. If they don’t have a book that you are looking for the staff will try to order it for you from a different branch and you just wait to get notified once it’s there to pick up.

chat I've been to this library for 7 years already, yes it may be loud, but you should expect that from a library that is next to a elementary school, and when school ends many children come into the library to hangout, do homework, or are told to stay there by their parents, as a student myself this place is a great place to do anything you need, you can do your work, both online and on whatever you need, you can also obviously get books, you can print stuff for free here, which is helpful for projects and stuff like that. If you are a parent and think this library is a bad place/environment for your child, then just move out of this neighborhood, this is dunning and you should expect that from a place like this, dunning is in general dangerous but that doesn't mean you should take it out on the library, the librarians try hard to keep the place quiet, and people like you saying children are getting incuraged by the librarians makes it harder for all of us, overall this library is the perfect library for people who lived in dunning all their lives and are used to the behavior in this neighborhood, the library is a perfect place for the children, it may not look like it but it's very safe

I've been to my Dunning library on a number of occasions, and I love it. I see kids reading, learning and using the computers, and it makes me happy. While my kids look for books in the juvenile section, I grab something from the non-fiction shelves. The entire staff is courteous, helpful and passionate about books. They are making my children passionate about books, and that makes me happy too. They also have great programming. Check out a great book, and check out this great branch library.

It hard to express how much I love my new-ish local library, the Dunning Branch. I've lived in the neighborhood for going on 20 years and I remember when our library was the postage stamp sized store front on Addison (which I still loved, because with the ability to order books from any branch, I was always able to get any book I wanted). But when my family first walked into this sleek, shiny new library, I was floored!

The Dunning branch is now the treat I offer my kids after running errands on the weekend. They have an amazing selection of picture books and early middle grade (the age ranges my kids read) and their librarians are so friendly and helpful, it's like visiting the home of a friend more than a public institution. Plus there's always something exciting going on. From the summer reading program to the events they host to the experience of just getting to share my love of books with the other patrons, the Dunning branch is a warm, welcoming place.

While I'm not often in the library at it's busiest times, I will say I've never experienced the library being loud. From my experience, most of the boisterous behavior occurs in the classes they hold for the smaller kids (and let's face it, little kids shouldn't have to sing quietly) or in the lovely park next door (how I LOVE the park next door!!). For those looking for solitude, there's also gorgeous, landscaped paths and benches outside, perfect at this time of the year.

A total neighborhood gem! Stop by and enjoy!!

Our communities are Thankful for our Chicago Public Libraries! My family, friends, neighbors, and neighborhood schools are very Thankful for all the roles the DUNNING Branch CPL staff accept and deal with, as a community. The kids in our neighborhood have participated in educational programs, self esteem building, festive activities, and a safe place to study after school. These Heroes ❤ are appreciated!

Love this place!!! They have great programs for kids and adults and it is right here in my community.
The best part about this library is the staff. My son attends Dever, and this year he had to do three group projects. His group and many others would meet at the library to work on their projects. The staff was exceptional in helping these students find appropriate sources.I saw one group painting items for their project. I was sure that they would be told that they couldn't complete their project there. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff brought out a tablecloth and let them finish . Glad the staff is so kind to the youngest patrons of the library.
I am so happy to have such a lovely library in my neighborhood.

The librarians are nice to everyone and are very helpful when trying to find books. It is a very kid friendly place with a dedicated kids section. I met a very close friends there who I hang out with every week. All in all, my expirience at Dunning was a great one.

Dunning Branch has an excellent staff. They were very kind - offering me & my stepdaughter bottled water & an extra bottle for our friend using the bathroom. They also offered my stepdaughter a guest card to use the computer if she wanted to.

Amazing staff! Although, my neighborhood library is less than a block, I prefer to drive the 10 minutes to go to this library!
