Delicious food, friendly service and a beautiful restaurant. I enjoyed the Wheelhouse burger and fries. My husband had the Tri-Tip dip sandwich with chips. We finished our meal with key lime pie. I recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in for lunch. They split the salad for us and the place was clean and very pleasant. As an appreciative customer, thank you for this table.

Interesting decor in the ladies restroom, so pretty 😍. We had the Wheelhouse burger, which was very tasty and cooked to our expectations. Service was excellent. Definitely worth the stop and we plan on visiting again.

This place/chef Jon deserves a Michelin star! The chef is TOP NOTCH!!! He actually worked with Cat Cora at Food Network! If you're a foodie, THIS is the place!!! SO peaceful and cozy, great decor, the BEST servers. Everything is phenomenal, but the best thing I ate last time was the conch fritters 😋

The food is remarkable! I love dining here!

So today, 08/02/22, I visited one of my favorite restaurants. My past review of the Wheelhouse restaurant was a testament to my experiences dining in. But today I called in my order. Upon getting to my office, which is 3 minutes away, and opening my meal, I was shocked to see that 5 pieces of thinely sliced grilled squash/zucchini cost me $4! The picture isn't lying! I have not eaten any of the food prior to taking the picture! The fried calamari was very salty, soggy with grease, and cold! Making it inedible! $18.70 spent on a meal and I can only consume the 5 vegetable slices! This is the absolute worst meal I've ever had here. I don't know what the problem may have been, but I pray they work it out because I love this place and I love supporting local non-chain restaurants.

I love coming here and seeing the ways in changes between the seasons between the artwork in the gallery and the menu!
Some consistent items like the Wheelhouse Burger and the Smoked Wings and Coconut Shrimp I just can't get enough of.
This place has a menu that will take you to whichever flavor destination you choose and the restaurants rich wood and soft lighting will make you feel right at home while you chow down. The bar also has plenty of seating room if you prefer to drink and watch the TVs.

Love staff and wanted to show off the little bit that's left from my Wheelhouse Burger(added Bacon) that came with fries for $17 and a salad with spring greens picked onion and cucumber. Plenty of condiments with my To Go order.

This place is a must stop of the route to the beach, driving through to the air force bases or just for a delicious Tuesday dinner if you live in the area.

My wife's 29th annual 21st birthday was Wednesday and Steve (my BFAM*) came up from Florida to attend her party. He offered to take us out for dinner and, although I'm ashamed to admit it, neither my wife or I had ever eaten at the Wheelhouse. We made the suggestion and he jumped at it. Well, not literally, but you know what I mean.

We arrived and were immediately led to a booth after asking our preference. We didn't have one, but in hindsight, it was a beautiful evening and we should have taken advantage of the outdoor seating that is available. (See the picture.)

We ordered our beverages. I got a Coke this time instead of sweet tea. I know, it shocked my wife, too. She and Steve both ordered a Coke Zero. We opted out of an appetizer and instead ordered our entrees. My wife and I got the blackened shrimp alfredo. After a short wait and my son knocking my drink over, our food arrived.

In short, it was magnificent!. There were more than enough shrimp and they weren't tiny. If I were to guesstimate, I'd say they were 31-40 (large) sized. The Alfredo sauce was scrumptious and it was served with garlic bread, cut diagonally.

I really loved the atmosphere of the place. High ceilings, great lighting (not too dark, but not too bright), and the combination of old and new decorations and fixtures was neat. I also loved what I called the art gallery room: giant TV on the wall surrounded by dozens of paintings. I'm not sure if they were of local artists or all done by the same person, but they are amazing.

Anyhoo, we had a wonderful experience and I can't wait to go back again. Maybe next time I'll try the steak or something with a little more local flavor. Either way, I'm sure I won't be disappointed!

What a fantastic dinner experience! Everything from the cocktails and appetizers to the salads, entrees and desserts was superb. The service was also excellent. We had the filet, the rib eye, the chicken Alfredo, and paneed chicken. All were divine as were the salads and sides that went with them. The desserts were delicious. I have a new favorite restaurant!

I take a breather here on my lunch at times, but today I had to share. Staff is always polite and friendly. It is always very clean and beautiful. Today I ordered the chicken Ceasar salad, as I've done in the past. I have to say, this has been the tastiest out of all the times I've ordered it. Normally, the chicken is a little cold and tastes rubbery. Today, it was grilled PERFECTLY. 💞 🥰 I ave also had the pimento pups, baked feta, and smoked gouda Mac, which have all been DELICIOUS. And BTW....I could get SICK off of eating their key-lime pie. A-MA-ZING

This was a wonderful spot to visit. We were traveling through Opp and decided to look for a nice local place to visit and we found a true gem. The Ambiance and decor were very pleasing. Warm tones, rustic look and very welcoming. The food was delicious and featured fresh seafood and innovative ideas. Will definitely return and recommend anyone looking for a wonderful spot to grab a nice dinner to keep The Wheelhouse in mind.

My friend and I shared a pizza and it was great. The food coming out of the kitchen to other customers looked delicious. Will go again and try something else.

This is a great restaurant! We wanted to grab lunch at a local restaurant as we were driving through Opp, Al. I found Wheelhouse on Google and it did not disappoint. Our server Daniel welcomed us with a smile and a menu. We ordered the Muh, Muh, Muh My Sherona Pizza. Pepperoni, Mushroom and extra cheese. Then I saw the Gouda Grits so I ordered a side of those and we had a huge piece of Key Lime Pie for dessert! As you can see in the photos it was amazing. Don't miss this place!!

My wife and I are camping for three nights at the nearby Frank Jackson State Park, and decided to give this place a try. Holy cow, what a restaurant! The food, the drinks, service, and atmosphere are absolutely top-notch. We're definitely planning on going back at least once more before we leave town.

Cannot recommend this place enough; do yourself a favor and go.

I was staying nearby and asked if there was anywhere in Opp Alabama to eat. I think the choices were MacDonalds, A closed Mexican joint, or The Wheelhouse. Well, wheelhouse it is. Beautiful atmosphere and not at all what I expected in this rural part of the state. I ordered the Cioppino and was not disappointed. The broth was creamy and full of all types of seafood. I was worried as many bouillabaisse can pick up too much salt but this one was spot on. A delightful dinner made better by a staff who were smiling and obviously happy to be working there. If the staff is happy it is a great indication of the rest of the experience.

Heather S. was our waitress and she is amazing! She was on top of our drinks and my family sucks down their drinks like crazy! She was super courteous and had a great personality and a wonderful smile. Our food was great! I definitely recommend the tri tip sandwich. The fries are also pretty amazing. Keep up the great job on hiring great staff and keep the good food coming! We will definitely be coming back soon!

Finding Wheelhouse on the way to the beach was a delightful surprise. The building and decor are beautiful, the atmosphere is welcoming and homey, and the service and food were 10/10. Lindsay was our server and helped us feel right at home. The Tri tip french dip was other worldly. And the Mac and cheese is a must have.
I will definitely be back!

Such a fun spot to have in town. That moon pie banana pudding is DEVINE, and the evolving menu means you can have something new each time you stop by. The patio concert series is a must too when it's offered!
