You can’t beat the classic burger and fries here. It’s a great place. The beer is ice cold. The people are friendly the service is amazing.

I forgot about this place after I retired from selling cars in Platte City great burgers coming to see you again. Hope you still have that grill👍

Great food for being drunk, it was so much fun. Very different experience than what I'm used to in Alaska. Very small town, owned by a local vibe. Thank you for making this outsider feel welcome

This little hole in the wall is definitely the best place in Platte City for bar food and reasonably priced drinks. A surprisingly creative food menu with lots of great appetizers and entrees. Everything is cooked right behind the bar, so you can watch your food being prepared. I've been there when they had live music, and that was cool too. Smoking is allowed, so be aware of that, but it has never been overwhelmingly smokey when I've been there, I assume they have smoke-eaters or good ventilation. If you ask nicely they'll give you a take-out menu ;)

My large family and I were welcomed with open arms at the Pool Hall for two nights in a row when visiting Platte City for a wedding. Good cheap drinks, great food and friendly service! We highly recommend this quaint bar.

I travel with 16 & 17 year old summer baseball teams across our nation. We have a policy of not eating at chain restaurants but instead, on travel days, we choose lunch by Yelp reviews for wherever we are at lunch time.
"The Pool Hall" was our choice today and what a terrific place! Walking up to it, opening an old fashioned screen door and entering a dark pool hall/bar atmosphere sure didn't slow my guys down! :-)
We ordered everything from cheeseburgers to breaded tenderloin sandwiches, fried mushrooms, onion rings, french fries, and lots of sweet tea --- all were excellent. The meat on the cheeseburger I ordered was definitely handmade --- at least 3/4 of an inch thick after cooking.
Today is Wednesday and unlike a previous reviewer, we were lucky to have several people working, including a sweet grandmotherly woman & GREAT cook and a nice waitress who told us the building has been there for over one hundred years and always been a bar for as long as anyone remembers.
For five people lunch was $57, perhaps a little higher than fast food but definitely worth every penny. We recommend "The Pool Hall".

Great food. The owners are usually onsight and care about the people and the comunity and they treat the nighbour behind the bar/ restaurant pretty good. Lol. And my kids get a free rootbeer every now and then.. two thumbs up! 😎 amazing burgars!!

The Pool Hall in Platte City is one of the best places in old downtown for lunch; well, ok... it is the only place in old downtown to go for lunch. They have the absolute best cheeseburgers anywhere and the staff is the friendliest around. If ever there was a place "where everybody knows your name," this is it.

Food is Always great hot and fresh. Beer is always cold and affordable. Staff is always friendly. One of our few weekly date night paves in platte city.

Great burger! Low key, friendly environment and staff. More of a local joint, but worth your time if you're in town.

Dive bar with great local flare. Taco Friday is spot on and their flat top burgers are that of Diners Dives and Drive Ins. Kareoke is awesome.

Great atmosphere, People are friendly. Its a small joint but definately worth to check out.
