Acqua Alta Ristorante

I absolutely love a margharita pizza from here with the addition of soprasetta. It’s a go-to dish for me. They have paintings on the walls from local artists that have some connection to Venice, which is where the owner is from. I believe most of the staff is from Italy as well. They treated my mom to a slice of pie for her birthday as well. Very sweet.

You’re missing out if you’ve not experience this lovely, quaint Italian bistro. We started with the octopus and a glass of wine and then shared the tagliatelle and a glass of wine. We landed on taking a pint of gelato home because when in Rome!

Cacio e pepe Tagliatella were fantastic. Pasta is fresh and cooked to perfection. Tiramisu is to die for. Looking forward to my next coming to this restaurant.

We’ve been here twice so far and each time has been great. Today we ordered the octopus appetizer, which is big enough to be had as a meal, the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter sauce and a small salad. Everything tasted amazing and the service was wonderful.

The food took a little bit to prepare and you could tell it was freshly made. The flavors were wonderful and the portion size good.

If you’re in the mood for good Italian food, don’t miss this gem.

This is a hidden gem. We went on a Thursday night and there was not one empty table. Our server (who may have also been the owner) was friendly, attentive and checked in on us frequently. The menu is not typical southern Italian and has a wide variety of selections. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals including the Branzino special, chicken parm and Tagliatelle (w/egg) alla Montana. The homemade pasta is excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

This is the real deal, authentic Italian cuisine, from the Venice area, where the owners from. All pasta is homemade, and unbelievable. The flavors are mild, unique and distinct. Service was beyond 5 stars, friendly and cozy. Everything on the menu looked great! My only regret is I couldn’t try more! Absolutely going back.

A true Italian dining experience with most of the menu entrees described as "Homemade". The Tagliatelle Montanara was delicious. The desserts and wine and beverage selection add to the satisfaction of dining at Aqua Alta.

Best authentic Italian I’ve had in Tampa Bay. The pasta was super fresh and the sauces were perfect. Apparently the owner/chef moved here from Venice 3 years ago so you’re getting very authentic Northern Italian food.

We came for my wife’s birthday on a Friday night. It wasn’t too busy but definitely make a reservation because the tables filled up by 7:30.

The Italian wine we ordered was delicious and at $31 was a reasonable price for a bottle.

We had an excellent experience tonight! The service was friendly and attentive. The owner, Chef Paola, even came to our table several times and recommended a fantastic wine for us to try. The food was superb, especially the meatballs and all of the pasta is hand made! We will be back many more times. Thank you!

My wife and i visited to celebrate our anniversary. We had the focaccia with tomato, cheese and balsamic for our appetizer. You can tell the ingredients are all fresh. We've traveled to Italy and one thing we noticed during our visit was how fresh all the food was. Acqua Alta is exactly the same. The service was top notch. Our waitress answered several questions as we decided on our entrees. My wife decided on fresh pasta with veggies and i had the filet with Gorgonzola cream sauce which was absolutely delicious. All of the pasta is made fresh and you can taste the difference. For dessert, we had the pistachio tiramisu. Again, a freshly made tiramisu, with the most wonderful mascarpone cream. We will definitely be returning. A true Italian experience, highly recommended!

Amazing freshly made pasta! Great Italian wine list. Attentive staff. Ravioli with rapini sauce and sausage was amazing. Pesto sauce great too. Wide variety of to go pasta and sauce.

We had a great meal at Acqua Alta. A very tasty pizza appetizer, 2 great Italian wines, delicious ravioli, entertaining and informative waiter(Alessandro (sp?)), and gelato. Have to go back!

Stopped in on Thanksgiving and received a warm welcome, The homemade pasta was great with a good wine list to accompany the dinners. This is a great hidden treasure. Perfect for family or date night. Will definitely be back with friends.

We just came back from Italy on vacation and were so happy to find this place! It's the real deal! The food is fresh and just like in Italy. If you have never tried tiramisu in your life this is the place to go! I had it in Rome and thought there could be no equal but this was dare I say it, better....lighter cream and perfect flavor. Kids loved the chocolate salami (no salami in it)...it was similar to fudge but with delicious nuts throughout.

Truly authentic Italian restaurant! So charming, friendly waiters and beyond good food. I want to say I’ve tried half their menu and every single dish becomes my new favorite… it’s that good! Their selection of wines is also impressive.

Perfect venetian cichetti, tasty and fresh prosciutto, bresaola and parmigiano like they come from the Emilia Romagna, Italy. Amazing fidanzati pasta as special of the day. We ended with a affogato al caffe with a whiskey cream and the tiramisu! Definitely I can’t wait to come back again!!!

I absolutely adored this place and cannot wait to return. We ordered Chianti wine, tomato caprese, filet minion, grouper special, and an espresso. The grouper special was top notch amazing, so much care put into it and tasty. The steak was also great, had a lot of flavor packed into it and was a really good price. It is more of a thinner cut and pretty rare (but I love rare so that was awesome for me). The portion sizes were good, not too large or small, they are enough to enjoy and if you get an appetizer and a side you can be full (we are not large eaters and had plenty to take home, but I could imagine if you are used to eating large foods that it could seem small.. its just a difference of what is normal portion sizes in the US vs. Europe). I heard the chef was from Venice and there was beautiful art of Venice over the walls and traditional dishes from there. I LOVED the pasta, it was perfect in every way, handmade, and to die for. The service was top notch, two waiters who were both very kind and checked on us often. I think this is a real gem of a place in Tampa, family owned, and so much love was put into this food. You can tell that they really take pride in what they do!

There are some cool photos online of whole fish and I didn't see it on the menu-- so I called ahead and the chef about the dish. He said to call a day ahead of time and let him know we are coming and would like fish and he can pick up fresh fish ahead of time, I hope to do this next time!

The interior was comfy, cozy, clean, and well decorated. There is one men's and one women's restroom. There is parking outside and this place is attached to a larger plaza, had no trouble finding parking.

Perfection! Absolute Perfect dining experience tonight. Our waitress, Sofie, was impeccable! She was so patient and knowledgeable, extremely attentive and kind. Paolo, the Owner, came over to check in and was very appreciative we were there. The food was outstanding and superior, a new favorite was established tonight for sure. Grazie mille!! Arrivederci!!

What a gem! The atmosphere, the waitstaff, the owner, the food--everything was top-notch. Ordered the mushroom ravioli that Paolo, the owner recommended and it was delicious. Can't wait to return--what a wonderful find!

Very good experience. My wife and I were a little intimidated by the menu, but the owner was very friendly and attentive and explained everything. Food was phenomenal I highly recommend the carbonara and pappardelle . Everything tastes homemade.Definitely will be coming back here again.
