Friendly City Inn Bed & Breakfast

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. The room was spacious, comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast served was by far the best of any B&B that we have been to. It's definitely at the top of our list on places to revisit.

We had a wonderful time at Friendly City Inn. The house and hosts are so welcoming. The room was spacious and cozy with everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was so delicious with silky eggs, scrumptious French toast and homemade fruit compote. The hosts were so attentive to our needs and we felt very much at home. Also, lots of places to sit outside and enjoy the greenery and it is a short walk to downtown. We look forward to coming back.

My husband and I stole a little long weekend away and found Friendly City Inn. Everything was inviting and comfortable from the moment we walked in. Kyle and Becca were super. The breakfasts were amazing. The room was super clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone! We will definitely be going back some time!

Friendly City Inn was a perfect place to relax and rest between two days of long drives. The room was comfortable and charming and we felt very much at home. The breakfast was delicious- a great way to start the day. We also enjoyed visiting with Kyle. He was very friendly and made our stay that much more pleasant. We'll definitely stay there again when in that part of the country.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. They kindly allowed us to wash our bikes outside in the back with their hose, which was incredibly convenient. When I realized I had left my earbuds behind, Kyle ran them out to me as I was leaving, which I greatly appreciated. Additionally, we were waiting on my bike to get fixed and asked if we could have a bit of extra time in the room. They were more than happy to accommodate us, which made a stressful situation much easier.

The location is ideal, offering easy access to local attractions and dining options. The beautiful garden and common areas provided a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring the city.

Overall, the Friendly City Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of top-notch service, comfortable accommodations, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this bed and breakfast a standout choice. I’ve had the opportunity to stay here twice and I absolutely loved it. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was sound asleep. The beds are so comfy. I’m a pretty early riser, so when I go downstairs, the coffee is ready. With coffee in hand, I take an early morning stroll around the neighborhood to enjoy the serenity of the town and take in the beauty of the colonial style homes. I also enjoy the walk through the cemetery that’s only 3 minutes away. It’s quite peaceful. The breakfast in the morning…ALWAYS AMAZING! Kyle and Tara are top notch at their service. I can not wait to go back! I just always seem to accidentally pass up the entrance 😂

Had a great stay at the Friendly City Inn! Becca made us feel at home right away with a warm welcome. The beds are super comfortable, everything was very clean and all of the greenery outside made for a great view. To top it all off, breakfast was fantastic and so was the coffee!

This adorable Inn gave us a quaint and relaxing rest on our long trip from NH to GA. Walking distance to Jimmy Madison’s made for a perfect evening! And breakfast at the Inn was a culinary delight!! We are already planning our attempt to recreate her fabulous fare! It’s worth planning your trip to include a stay here ❤

We had such a wonderful stay at the Friendly City Inn! We stayed in the Friendly City room - it was spacious, super clean and the bed was sooo comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were spectacular. The staff is so kind and helpful, too. The property is beautiful - the wisteria was blooming outside on the patio and we saw bunnies hopping around outside.
The Inn is walking distance from downtown which is so convenient. I highly recommend the Friendly City Inn for anyone coming to experience Harrisonburg or for a cute staycation for Harrisonburgers.

An absolutely amazing trip! My fiancé and I had such a wonderful time during our stay. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, and welcoming. Everything from the staff to the breakfast was amazing. We so enjoyed our stay at this beautiful inn. The staff was helpful with our reservation as well as greeting us when we arrived. The room was very quiet and comfortable and the view of the mountains was great. Just a short walk to downtown. Breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay again!

This is A GEM in the heart of the stunning scenery of Virginia and buzzing city of Harrisonburg!

From the outset, we had a warm and informative welcome from Kyle, the innkeeper, and he and the owners, the Grahams, were on hand for our every need. It felt like home from home! The Inn has plenty of history and we especially liked the unique and tasteful architecture which has been well preserved and presented.

We enjoyed superb sunset views of the surrounding mountains from our room, and after our long day hiking on the Appalachian Trail in the spectacular Shenandoah National Park (a must-see for the state), we spruced up in our relaxing shower, took a short walk into the heart of the city, and ate at the Capital Ale House which we can recommend for service and a broad selection of great cuisine and drinks.

We chose a low temperature for our room (we usually sleep with the windows open, but it was a cold night!) which was simplicity itself to adjust, then slept like logs on a kindly spacious bed. In the morning we had a breakfast to die for and a lot of great conversation around the table. After that we took a morning stroll around the peaceful sunny grounds in full Fall colours.

Becca is a fantastic host who shared great local knowledge for dinning and shopping. The inn is quiet and comfortable. Would definitely recommend and planning on a return stay!

This is the most precious place! We booked on short notice for an athletic event at JMU. We stayed in the Magnolia room and it was perfect…wonderful bed, amazing sheets, warm and cozy furnishings. Delicious chocolate chip cookies, amazing breakfast, top notch coffee! Kyle was kind and welcoming - thank you for a wonderful stay!

We also had a late night meal at Capital Ale House that was great!!
