Hole in the Wall

I didn't get a picture of our food we were too hungry to wait lol. But this place is absolutely lovely. Workers are great and very welcoming. Right on the water so the view from the deck was beautiful. We drove over an hour to this little town and I would do it again just for the burgers we had. By far the best burger I've ever had. The prices are great as well. Definitely recommend stopping and trying this little restaurant. Oh and their mixed drinks are great and actually taste the alcohol unlike a lot of restaurants.

5 Star Hidden Gem!! Very Real crabcakes, unbelievable fried oysters! Beyond fresh. Reminds me of the old seafood houses in Virginia Beach. Stop by for a meal...you will love it!!! Great drive!

Love this place. Super friendly staff with great food and drinks. Had the best crab cake sandwich that I've ever had. Sadly it was a special of the day. Spicy crab cake on Texas toast. Needs to be on the menu permanently. If you like oysters , they have Oyster Monday.

Loved this place. Visited with my friend from Matthews County. Enjoyed the good food and great oysters along with several pints of beer.

I've been here twice and have really enjoyed it. It's a small little spot that situated right on the water and it's just past the bridge entering Gwynn's Island. It's a perfect spot for a beer and a nosh. My husband and I decided to visit on the 4th of July. They were busy and as hot as it was, we were very comfortable eating outside on their covered deck. My husband had a cheeseburger with fries....he said it was delicious but "very no frills." It didn't come with the usual lettuce tomato, onion, and pickle, so if you want that, i guess you need to ask for it. He said the fries were great. I had the shrimp tacos. Loved them. We also enjoyed an appetizer of onion rings. They were delicious. Service was excellent. This is such a cool little place to check out...especially during the summer months. Good, uncomplicated, fare and great atmosphere. 👍
** If you are handicapped or have trouble climbing steps this place might not be accessible for you. If there is an alternative entrance, I'm not aware of it. Please call and check just in case, as there are considerable stairs to climb in order to enter.

We were camping at 1000 trails and needed a small diversion because of the rain, so 9n a lark decided to check out Gywnn Island. After a jaunt around the very cool world of Gywnn, stopped in for lunch. SO glad we did, what a treat! Tasty beverages, but the food...we had the fish tacos, a strip of fried flounder on each taco, and the crab cake platter with fries and onion rings, then we split everything. Possibly one of the best crab cakes I've ever had, and having lived in Tidewater for going on 40 years now, I've had a few! The onion rings were amazing, and the fries were out of this world. Have never seen them cut quite like that, and they were some of the best ever. Stupid me, I only took pics of the drinks, but I think you'll find plenty on the site to get the gist. What a treasure, if it were closer, we'd be here alot!

Had the best time today. I've known about this place but after a 20 mile bike ride I decided to go there with my wife. Everything was perfect. My wife was so happy and I have no idea how much lunch was, it was worth it. We loved all the dogs and struck up a conversation with the table next to us. We laughed so much. I told them that I had a YouTube channel about amazing dogs (carbonpictures) and they invited us to their house!!!

Ok, let me explain about these photos. The food was so delicious and the fresh aromas just completely distracted me from taking pictures before the food was devoured. Every single dish we ordered was uniquely crafted and just good ol’ wholesome yumminess! The staff was a lot of fun. You didn’t just have service, you had fun, personable people getting your order and bringing you the food. I wanted to order one of everything off the menu! Beer was cold and they always made sure we didn’t have an empty glass. I will be going back again! Oh! I almost forgot! The view of the water was beautiful! Everyone gets to enjoy it too!

Small place so get there early. Food was great. Really enjoyed the blanked shrimp. Was buttery and the right amount of spice. Every one there is very friendly and helpful.

We sat at the bar and believe Andrea was the bartenders name. She was making drinks foe the entire place and taking care of the bar. Ive never seen anyone work so fast and hard. We left an extra good tip, she was great!

My boyfriend and I had a great time at the Hole in the Wall. It has a fun atmosphere with great views. We love the oysters, crab dip and the fried oysters. They also had great drinks. Our server was very friendly. We will be back!

Delicious! We would give it more than 5 stars if we could. Highly recommend the grilled shrimp. The service was great and the food even better. We had the perfect table by the window for an amazing view.

Speechless, really. It's not very often that we go to a place and don't have leftovers to bring home; it was that good! The food was phenomenal, the view was incredible, and the service was spot on. Most of the crowd seemed like they were probably locals from on and around the island, but it was only about a 20 minute drive for us from Gloucester and well worth it. Absolutely worth driving from wherever you are!

I highly recommend hole in the wall! Such a beautiful restaurant right on the water with access to come by boat and dock. We started with a special appetizer, the cheese bites with spicy ranch. Yum! They had a great variety of specials and often switch it up which I love. I had the chicken tenders with hush puppies and fries and my boyfriend had the shrimp tacos. Everything was seasoned so well and delicious! Heidi was our server and she was so sweet and on top of everything. I definitely recommended her! She was awesome! We will definitely be back!

What a cool place. Building is high up so you have awesome views. Food was great. Service was great. Wish I found this place sooner.

Hubby and I are not seafood fans, but he ordered a burger and said it was very good. I got chicken tenders that were good enough. The honey mustard was good and the fries were great. The atmosphere was fantastic and our food came out super fast- we were the only diners at the time, though there were a few guys at the bar. We sat near the windows and had a great view of the water and some ducks. Friendly waitress and other staff.

Been coming down to Deltaville for
years and always on the look out for a good place to eat…..Found It!!!!! Amazing Burgers, fish, crab cakes, fresh made onion rings, and ice cold beer. My son loved the Mac and cheese and he is such a picky eater. We will be coming here again for sure. Get Excited!!!!

Beautiful views! Loved eating on the deck outside. Great place with kids you can walk on the dock and enjoy the views. The wait was a little long but well worth it. I suggest making a reservation in advance if you can. I recommend the blackened shrimp tacos they were delicious!
