Mathews Grill and Deli

One of the few options we had when dining after 830pm. Glad we went here. Food was phenomenal. Service was good but slow. Place was relatively clean, bathrooms were okay and only one person at a time. All in all I will be back next time I'm in the area.

If you ever want to have good clean food in a nice quant town definitely go to this place. It's clean and quiet. If I ever go to Mathews Co. Again I am definitely coming back to this place. Come by and try it. You will not be disappointed for sure. I am a very happy customer.

Best steak I have had in restaurants in forever. Stuffed shrimp, not so much. Too much stuffing, very small and thin shrimp

This place is great! We had a big order (5 pizzas 24 wings and 16 garlic knots) and I wasn’t sure if they could do it since we called an hour and a half before close, I felt bad calling so late. They were able to do though and they did it fast! The food was delicious, prices were very reasonable, and the service was great. We were recommended this place by our Airbnb host and it was amazing. 10/10!!

The Crab cake sandwich was so good and my girlfriends burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. Sweet potato fries shall I say more!! We were traveling and they were supper friendly and hospitable when we picked up our to-go order.

A nice stop in Matthews County. The food and staff were great. The food was well prepared and a hearty portion; plus a great price. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and exceptional. I definitely recommend stopping here if you are in the area

OMG!!! Without a doubt the BEST fried sweet potatoes I've ever had anywhere. Soft on the inside but nicely crisp and "flaky" outside. Worth going there if only for the fries. But I like going for the Ruben sandwich! Plus you don't spend an arm and a leg to eat here. It's not a fancy place but the food is good, the price is right, and the people working there are friendly.

Great lunch with my wife. Prices are very reasonable and very good quality. My wife had a burger and I had the crab cake sandwich. Both were just right!

The food was perfect. Got the Texas burger w/ sweet potato fries. The bun was toasted a bit and beef was fresh and juicy. Fries we're crispy and hot. Service was fast, friendly, and attentive.

Small family owned and operated deli with a variety of food choices. Make your own pizza endless possibilities! Small quaint atmosphere and good service.

The food and service was very good, however if you're concerned about covid precautions I'm not sure this is your place. (Just giving a heads up for those concerned) the condiments and napkins are still on the tables in communal bottles (other places I've been lately will bring out a cup with ketchup, A1, etc. upon request. They also have communal napkin holders and as good as the wait staff may be I'm sure those don't get wiped down between between each guest. It would be much better if they just had to clean the table after guests leave. I will return but I know these are concerns of many now so those looking for places taking the utmost precautions would want to know.

Yumm Crab cake sandwich & Sweet potatoe fries! My girlfriend had a perfect burger with an onion ring. Great service for takeout.

Had an awesome softshell crab poboy here. Fries were delicious as well. Nice varied menu with lots of options.

Our 1st visit. We had the Philly cheese steak and onion rings. The best ever, toasted fresh sub, stacked with meat,onions and peppers. So good. I would go again
