Many years of neglecting my teeth for various reasons, some justified and some not, but mostly from fear of past experiences, I found myself at the crossroads where a dentist was necessary as problems were accruing that no longer could be ignored. Dr. Dunaway staff was phenomenal, starting with Kat, who helped greatly from my initial contact with her, granting both kindness and professionalism to set me at much needed state of ease.
A great dental plan was set in place and my process has begun. My 3rd visit in consisted of 2 wisdom teeth abstractions, fillings and a tooth implant. They made it as painless as possible. I cannot speak the amount of gratitude for this practice. Each person genuinely cares and is compassionate. From your step in the front door, to the hygienist, to every assistant, every associate/dentist to the checking out staff, they have great commendable service. Thank you Dr. Dunaway, I appreciate you and your staff!

I took advantage of their teeth whitening special and had a very positive experience! The office is clean and pleasant, and the staff is extremely friendly and warm. The trays fit perfectly and I love my new brighter smile!

Dr. Dunaway was great! I’m a JMU student and broke my permanent retainer and he took it off and helped me out in under 10 minutes! Highly recommend if you’re a student and aren’t from Harrisonburg to use Dr. Dunaway. The staff was very sweet and friendly as well!

One of the most welcoming staff and environment I have experienced at any other dental office. The lady at the front desk was very friendly, the dentist Dr. Lamb was very compassionate in his recommendations and Olga was very thorough with the cleaning process. Sarah at check out desk even took the time to go over all of my coverages and the billing. Would definitely recommend this office, from the moment I walked in to the minute I checked out it was a breath of fresh air. Never would have guessed I'd say, I can't wait for my next visit!! :)

2. The skill and seasoned experience of the dentists.

4. The hygienist that does my cleaning (Brandy) is pleasant and thorough while she gets the job done!
5. The front office staff is always so warm, friendly and helpful.
6. Last, but not least, the birds I view from every window, no matter which chair I am in! (The dentist office of my childhood and young adult days had no windows 🫤)

Highly recommend Dr. Dunaway. Him and the staff make you feel like the person you are and not a number. They take time to explain everything so you have a better understanding on your care and options while also making it a fun environment as to where you feel comfortable and not nervous. Happy to choose this office for my dental care!

Dr. Johnson and his staff are so friendly and welcoming! We love our dental hygienist, Brandy! They take their time to explain everything and make you feel comfortable! I highly recommend them to anyone needing a dental office in the area.

We seen Dr. Lamb for the 2nd opinion for our daughter. He performed a thorough examination and provided excellent service. He also made several recommendations that saved a permanent tooth vs the first office we went to that said the tooth cannot be saved. We are also grateful that we were not charged for the visit. (This was supposed to be an out of pocket for us due to our insurance). Very pleased with the professionalism of the doctors and staff. Great office to take your kids to! - Tsymbal family

This is one of the best dental experiences I've ever had. I've been to a lot of different dentist through the years and Valley Smile Care is different. Dr. Dunaway and Dr. Johnson and always kind, genuine, thoughtful, and personable. The staff is courteous and attentive. You just get the sense everyone loves their job, they care about their patients, and you look forward to your visits.

I was impressed from beginning to end with my experience at Valley Smile Care. From filling out forms, to sitting in the lobby, x-rays, and to cleaning my teeth, everyone was so professional and kind. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Just started going to Dr Johnson a few months ago. He is very friendly & knowledgeable! Brandy, my hygienist, does a great job too! I highly recommend practice!
