Steamers Steak & Seafood

Of all the visits to McCall, we have not eaten here. The wait was half an hour for a party of 5 and 1 child. Feels more like a European eatery with course meals rather than timed meal placement. They did forget 1 entry order. However, the bison steak was delicious!!! Seafood all around for everyone else. Lamb, bison and fish had good flavor. After a two hour meal we all left satisfied.

I'm a frequent diner at restaurants in the area, and Steamers Steak & Seafood has become one of my go-to spots. I recently had another excellent meal there that deserves a rave review.

We walked in without reservations on a weeknight (Mountaineers Hockey Game) and were promptly seated by the very friendly hostess. The restaurant has a great location on E Lake Street with plenty of parking options so it's quite convenient. Inside, the dining room has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

Our server was extremely attentive and helpful throughout the evening. Despite the crowd, the food came out fast. We started with the Soup of the Day that was NE Clam Chowder - delicious and we have spent a lot of time in Maine. The main dishes were the Bison Filet, cooked to a perfect medium rare w/ mashed potatoes. The bison was so flavorful and tender. Our friend ordered the Idaho Trout, which was light and delicately seasoned, while my wife had the Scallops. The scallops were absolute perfection - large, sweet and seared beautifully.

Everything we ordered was clearly made with care and high quality, fresh ingredients. Even the side dishes shone. Throughout the busy dinner service, the staff remained fast, friendly, and attentive.

I highly recommend Steamers for the total package: friendly service, speedy kitchen, cozy atmosphere and - most importantly - outstanding food. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Amazing trout, would totally recommend. The Ceasar salad was incredible and was so great to eat after a long day. Salmon has amazing seasoning, such a great restaurant. Service was a little slow but it’s understand me since we got there when it first opened for the day! Worth the wait.

Holy!!!!! What an amazing place😁 The ambience is very relaxing and cozy. Staff was incredible! They were crazy busy (that is usually a good sign) and to make things more challenging they were understaffed because some of the servers had weekend plans. But..... that didn't change the incredibly memorable dining experience. The menu selection was excellent and it had many items I wanted to try. We had 3 in our party and were very hungry. The apps we ordered were so so good. Everything was fresh and had explosive flavor, OMG on the scallops!!! I need to make these at home. All the food had excellent presentation and was perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend this place and please make a reservation, they are busy😁 A+

Good homestyle seafood. We ordered the rain row trout and salmon. Both come with either a soup or salad and bread. For sides you can get the mashed potatoes or rice. We got the Manhattan clam chowder which was good but needed more clams in it. The Cesar salad was good. It did not come with anchovies and the dressing did not drench or over power the lettuce. We both preferred the mashed potatoes because how can you go wrong with mashed potatoes. They were creamy and cheesy. The rice was tasty but can be forgotten over the mashed potatoes. It was a tie for us with both the trout and salmon. Both were tasty.

Service was great and food arrived timely, everywhere else we visited while in town took forever to get food, thank you Steamers for getting us our food so quickly and outstanding service. Food was very good too and well priced for portions

Steamer's is a must for anyone visiting McCall. They offer amazing dishes... we love the Bison, Salmon, Sea Scallops, French Onion Soup, & many other dishes that Steamer's has to offer.

We found Steamers while shopping downtown McCall. It was almost 5 o’clock on Valentine’s Day so we decided to give it shot on getting a table right when they opened. Not only did they fit us in but they were kind and hospitable. The food was delicious and our picky children even enjoyed everything! We will definitely be back if we’re ever in the area again.

Servers were friendly and helpful. I only gave 4 stars because we had a couple of steaks and they were a bit over the medium mark, however they were still very tasty. One of us had chicken and the rest of us had a variety of steaks. We had bread pudding for dessert amd it was also delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and we will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our food and the service was great. A little on the spendy side but everything was delicious.

We always enjoy the halibut and idaho mashed potatoes. Friendly service.

We had the most wonderful service and incredible dinner! The pan-fried oysters were my favorite!
Huge portions and so many choices made it a win for our entire party!

I love places that have unique specials. It was 8 oz Bison cooked to perfection. It has the flavor somewhere between a steak and roast beef with the tenderness of filet mignon.

My son wanted crab legs but it wasn't on the menu or on the special. We asked and they had some and they came through.

Love this place! We have dinner there every time we visit McCall! The food is excellent!

The chicken in white wine sauce and capers meal was very good. The crust of the chicken was buttery like I have never tasted before. All sides were equally delicious. French onion soup up front was also very tasty.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

We ordered several appetizers and everything was great! Wine choices were limited but good. I'd definitely go again. Service was good.... a little slow to start but it was very busy.

My wife Gwen & I were on day 10 of an extended USA motorcycle trip, when we arrived in McCall Idaho. We went to Steamers for dinner and to celebrate our anniversary. The food, (scallops, salmon steak and my bison steak) was awesome. Jeanette our server was great, always ready to ensure our dining was on point and she as well was humorous and easy to chat with. Jeanette is a great asset to Steamers. Certainly recommend Steamers if it McCall Idaho.

Food and service was excellent, the red trout was well cooked and very tasty. Onion soup I had as an app was also excellent. Place could use a little spruce up but maybe the "run down" seafood shanty look is what they are looking for. Either way I would go for the food which is great.

My husband and I have frequented Steamers on date nights and have never been disappointed.
We took our family, 3 kids and us two adults, to celebrate one of our birthdays. We were treated with respect and great service, it was fast and pleasant.
Our food was delicious!
The kids devoured their Caesar salads and we all favored the scallop appetizer.
Hubby’s steak was cooked perfectly and my halibut was fresh.
Dessert sealed the meal and we all got in and out, within an hour and a half and had an wonderful evening!

Never been to McCall before, but knew we would be there for two nights including our 40th anniversary. So I searched a place I thought I would love. I called nearly two weeks in advance to make sure we had reservations, and everything was perfect, the food, the service, and the atmosphere was top notch. Thank you, Steamers!
