Interstate Electric Supply Company

I've been shopping here as an electrical contractor for some time and find service, product and price to be on par. The shopkeep may have some unique mannerisms but once you get past that he is very helpful and a good guy.

Service is poor. Every time I go to this interstate the employees act like I’m inconveniencing them. They also don’t seem to keep normal hours.

Told clerk I was working with a 3 wire number 4 service wire that neesed to be coupled together inside a jbox. He sold me a jbox for the service wire, a single coupler for coupling the ground wire, then handed me another coupler and said " that one will handle three wires". I tried to verify with him that the second coupler would be suitable for coupling the red, black, and white wires accordingly. He grunted a little charged the merchandise to my credit card.

After fighting with the second coupler for over a hour, I decided I had better test it and make sure it was going to work like I told the clerk I needed it to. It's a good thing I decided to test it, otherwise I would have slammed 240vac into my main neutral on a 200 amp service. Long of it short clerk had no clue as to what I was talking about, how to help, and had no customer service skills at all.
