What a delightful experience! This place randomly popped up in my Facebook feed. The pictures I saw made it look so quaint and charming I wanted to give it a try. I drove over an hour to get here and must say it was well worth it!

The cafe is located in what I understand was formerly a hardware store. I love historic buildings, and always appreciate when they are well preserved. The exposed brick walls, aged hardwood floors, and tin tile ceiling transports you back to a time gone by.

The food and coffee were delicious! I had an iced mocha, which was not on the menu but they created wonderfully, and a club sandwich. The prices are reasonable and the staff is super kind and courteous. This may be my new favorite out-of-town coffee shop!

Really cool place, I love the decor/setup inside. They have a good amount of seating considering it's not a huge place. I wish I lived closer because it would be an awesome spot to get a drink and food while working. Smoothies are made with frozen fruit, not smoothie mix which is a nice touch and gives a better flavor I think. We had the peach smoothie and then did a combo of blueberry with strawberry banana, both were delicious. The oatmeal cake is incredible, a must try. Staff was friendly and prices were very fair for what you get.

In town this past weekend and had breakfast here. The atmosphere is great, the business used to be the local hardware store. Food was simple, really good and a very fair price. Coffee is the specialty, and my wife really enjoyed her cup. A must stop and see when in Mt. Gilead.

One of my favorite things about moving to Mount Gilead. Everyone that works here has been so kind every visit and the food and drinks have all been great!

Hidden gem in a small town. Everything was delicious! The oatmeal cake is a must have, no matter how full you are!

Wonderful coffee shop and a great place to grab a bite to eat! The oatmeal cake was so delicious, we bought a second slice to enjoy! The cinnamon roll is also amazing.

Wow the coffee (free refills) was very good. We liked the quirky atmosphere and laid back atmosphere. The chili was home made. My sister got bubble tea combined with lavender lemonade. She loved it. We will definitely go back, such a lovely place to enjoy a cozy lunch.

So the charming and cool factor here is that one you can browse antiques and cool pop culture things you can buy. After that they have delicious coffee drinks and great sandwiches and soups. The history of the building is interesting also. If you are going through town give yourself a treat and stop in.

Cute little shop with some great historical artwork on the walls - their panini's are yummy and they have amazing coffee and baked goods, phenomenal customer service. Always smiling faces, I'd much rather give this place my support than a chain coffee shop.

This is a wonderful small town restaurant. The food is good and the waitresses are friendly. It's definitely worth the visit.

Am in the area camping with my husband and his family and stopped for some coffee. The lady and her grandson working today (10/16) were so funny together and they made excellent coffee! I had an iced latte with pumpkin syrup. It was delicious, as was the huge blueberry muffin I got to share. Very friendly people and the store is adorable and very antique. Great place! I guess it’s a hidden gem, but I am glad I found it.

The coffee there is amazing.
They have their flavor's displays like top shelf alcohol, which was cool.

If I remember correctly, they make their ice out of coffee, so that when it melts, it doesn't dilute the flavor. Very nice touch!

Dinning experience: the dinning area is very cozy and the staff is very Pleasant. The service was quick and the food prepared very well. The presentation of the food was good and pleasing to the eye. Restroom report: the restrooms were very nice as well as clean. They had a warm feeling to them not cold and dark as many restrooms that I rate are. As far as their coffee I personally can not comment because I don't drink coffee. According to many that I have spoken with the coffee at this restaurant rates very good even excellent as some that I spoke with said. I don't often give 5 stars because it leaves no room for things I may have missed but I couldn't give this restaurant 4.5 stars and 4 stars does not do it justice. May not look like a restaurant from the outside but, inside is a different story. Food is absolutely DELICIOUS and customer service is friendly and feels like you're visiting a friend

Can't say enough how wonderful Sames & Cook is! A very beautiful turn of the century hardware store charmingly renewed with dine in seating a modern kitchen and a neat coffee bar. Drinks available for carryout. Excellent breakfast options. Very warm and caring staff who care about the quality of their work. This is what a local eatery should be.

Just got a regular coffee to go but it was really good and easy to self-serve and get out. Haven't been in there in a long time and under new management it's much less cluttered in there and easy to move around. They're short on parking when busy with all the street parking consumed but they make up for it with the super-helpful and attentive help. All-in-all well done and keep up the good work!

I work in the area and the last few times I've been in Mt. Gilead I've stopped here. The first time I stopped in the ladies working there were incredibly nice and even sat down across from me to say hello. My boss and I stopped in yesterday to talk for an hour or so and they consistently show great hospitality and fantastic food. One of the best coffee shops in the area without a doubt.

This is the most lovely little coffee shop. They have a wide variety of blended, iced and warm drinks. I got a pumpkin spice frappe and it was so smooth and fluffy and 100 times better than any large chain I have ever been to.

Best protein shakes ever! I love the Green Monster and PB &J shake, both amazing and so fresh. Its a cute place to caught up with friends or to have a business meeting. Adorable style in the inside. One amazing staff, always so friendly and inviting.
