This is a great local bookstore. Nowadays with children having an abundance of toys, it’s always hard knowing what to gift for children’s birthday parties (especially if you don’t know them well) so we come here and can always find something special/appropriate to give. If not, we turn to gift cards! The staff are always very friendly and helping in trying to recommend something. My own children love coming and choosing their own books with gift cards they receive.

The old children’s section was great but the new just children’s location is even better!

I support local book stores! It’s small and cozy, the staff is helpful, & there is a good variety of books all neatly organized. I’ve pre-ordered several books from here both in person & online. They’ve all arrived within a reasonable time.

You know those bookstores you only see in TV shows or read about in cozy fiction stories? Do you wish to live out any dreams of small town magic in a beautiful bookstore? This is literally that bookstore. The assortment of choices is unbelievable. I’m able to find books here that I’ve never heard of and I haven’t seen on any other mass market publishing list of “books to read.” Everything feels personalized and considered. And that’s just the selection of books to purchase!The staff here is BEYOND unbelievable. I love every single person that works here. They are filled with a love for what they do, and for the books that they read. I have never had such an incredible experience shopping, and I can never get tired of recommending Watchung Booksellers to literally everybody. I’ve been going here since I moved to the area maybe three years ago, and they know me so well at this point that I’m greeted as I walk in. But it really doesn’t matter who you are, it really feels like a giant book family here. I literally won’t go anywhere else for books

Leave it to Margo to open her doors and her heart to Puerto Rican author and historian Elba Iris Perez’s debut novel —THE THINGS WE DIDNT KNOW ! For those of you who love small town New England and how —in some ways — it can remind you of a Puerto Rican Pueblo, grab this wondrous gem of a family narrative set in both Woronoco, Massachusetts and la Isla del Encanto!

I love a very well kept bookstore. This one did not disappoint. The checkout young lady that helped me was so courteous and nice.

They offer a varied selection of books and little reading knickknacks. At the far end of the store there’s a cute children’s section. There’s also a joined restaurant which looked amazing and smelled great.

Will definitely return to this spot.

This local book store is such a cute place... right by the train station and ‘local’ coffee shop it’s a recipe for a nice morning or afternoon.

I also recently attended a wonderful outdoor book signing by Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) with my son and it was wonderful. The staff was so well organized and the whole experience was warm and nicely socially distanced. Clap off to Jeff and the staff of Watchung Booksellers for putting all that together ♥

Just a lovely bookstore. Montclair is so lucky to have more than one great independent store, with very dedicated owners. This store also has a fabulous selection of kids' books.

Great to see that local book stores are still a thing. Its got to be hard to survive in this day and age but I appreciate their service to the community. Went to Watchung booksellers to buy the book Hester for my wife a couple days ago.

I love this local independent bookstore. If they don't have what you're looking for they can almost always get it for you.

Well stocked little book store right near the train station. Tons of gifts, clever recommendations, and a great kids section. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful. There’s also a cafe!

Quaint book store, with a restaurant attached to it (have yet to try it, but have heard great things). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love an indy book store. Super chill.

If you like books, this is a fantastic bookstore. Wide variety of topics and if they don't have it they can get.

Big fan of this place. My son is almost 2 and he loves to pick out new books, and everyone is very kind and patient has he tries to decide what he wants from the well stocked and diverse children's section. I'd also love to buy books for myself here too, as everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. We both enjoy coming here!

Homemade Italian food inside a book store. What more can I say? Took a dear friend here and we had the best time. She loved it and the food was incredible. Also, it's byob. The service is always wonderful and they don't rush us out. Book store closes at 7pm on weekdays and a reservation is highly recommend. Parking is also very easy nearby. My favorite has to be any specials they have but the gnocchi is my regular go-to🍷🍝🤤

A worker they was very kind to my daughter and recommended some great books, and it was a blast speaking to her. Everyone there is 1st class. Go there and buy something.

Cute bookstore that’s not huge but all of the books they stock are well-chosen. The employees were great and had really helpful recommendations!

The space is a little small but cozy, and the staff is extremely nice. They even have tags on their display books to help you decide what to read, and have no problem with you reading in-store.

Probably the best and coziest independent bookstore in North Jersey. The sales staff are knowledgeable and the books pulled are always unique and enticing. I read A LOT (about a book a day) and this is one of those places where I can regularly discover books I've never heard of before, but also find the books I'm looking for (or have them order it for me) - a rare treat for me. The store greatly supports the community and the community loves the store back. Come on in if you want the best Shop Around the Corner vibes in real life. (P.S. Stephen Colbert briefly visits here with Jerry Seinfeld on Colbert's episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. You can see why Montclair native Colbert can't resist this charming place.)
