Nice selection and friendly staff - my husband likes the comic store next door so I wander a bit in here.

Small town grocer that always has what you need. Fresh produce is always guaranteed. The meat department has the best cuts and helpful staff to make sure you walk away with the right products. I am here almost daily to get their specials of the day. Thank Wild Bill for starting a legend of a store!

I don't live in South St. Paul so don't shop here normally but I love that's it's a small town grocery store that seems to carry everything you would need. I go there for these special lemon and maple cookies. Haven't seen them anywhere else. Yummy!

Friendly neighborhood store. The store is always clean and organized. Employees and managers are friendly and customer service oriented. I go often to shop their weekly flyer specials or pick up a few things here and there. The fresh bread goods, deli chicken and mashed potatoes are so good, too. I'm so happy to have a small local store to shop in that I don't mind spending a little extra here and there sometimes. We must appreciate a local store! Just know your prices and do your major shopping elsewhere. A friendly atmosphere where the employees get to know you by name, and the convenience of having your groceries bagged for you and loaded into your vehicle is worth it in my opinion.

love this little place! They seem to have just about everything the big box store on south Robert street does but no crowds and only about five blocks from our house. I am amazed at how many different things they stock and the folks that work there are "Minnesota nice".

Got some chicken that ended up being bad. No problem that happens!! The manager on duty (Tim) was extremely polite when I asked to grab a different package. He then found the most expensive one to give to me for free, and then put a second one in the bag free of charge. Family owned grocery stores are where to shop.

While the owners and names have changed, this has been a SSP grocery store for over 50 years. Opened by Sid Applebaum back in the 60’s, you still get that vibe walking through it. No the prices are not lower than the little bear, but still cheaper than whole paycheck. They stock what sells in the community. If you are a hipster looking to get ur vegan on, you will more than likely be disappointed. If you want potato salad, and a veg or two to go with that steak - you’re set. Enjoy!

Just moved to the neighborhood. While we'll still stock up on groceries at Costco and Hyvee due to prices, we'll still be I'm here 2 to 3 times a week for fresh produce, fresh meat, and things we run out of or forgot to buy.

Their pre-made meal counter is delicious, chicken and gravy is especially yummy.

Small local grocery store but 99% of the time I fond what I want and doesn't feel like walking into a 100,000 square foot warehouse, quick easy, friendly down to earth with good brands

Great neighborhood grocery store. Just don’t get stopped by your neighbor and end up talking for 45 minutes about people you have no idea who they are….. otherwise a great experience

Great community grocery store with friendly staff. Even though the cashier's are teens, the are professional and respectful. Special big ups to Sean the manager. My daughter lost my credit card in the lotto machine and he patiently retrieved it for me. I cannot thank him enough!! Thank you Sean!

It's a smaller store but the service is great, friendly employees, and easy to pop in and pick up dinner or get a few things or even pick up a bunch of groceries! I have shopped here for many years and as always it is a pleasant place to get food!

Knowlans is true family grocery store. Most employees have been there for years and know everyone by name. They regular prices with some terrific sales and a variety of new rare or different products for their customers to try. I dont think I have ever been disappointed shopping there but I know I always felt welcome unlike the horrible service you would receive at ALDI'S on southview blvd up the street by Joe the worst manager I have ever met.

Tim and his team are simply fantastic!! They have the BEST deli!! we love shopping here and will continue to!

Knowlan’s South St. Paul is my favorite place to shop. I especially like the fact that it is not a warehouse it’s a friendly store that is well stocked. Fresh produce and a nice meat department couldn’t ask for more.
