Cold Front

Wonderful little spot right next to the nook! We got the brownie sundae and it was spectacular. The brownie tastes like it was homemade very soft and warm, ice cream is very delicious soft serve. Not too rich not too sweet but perfect. Would really suggest you check them out!!

My husband and I came here tonight for milkshakes and were so impressed! Both of us loved how creamy and thick they were. The gal working behind the counter was kind helping a family with young kids figure out ice cream orders. Great service, great ice cream, we will be back!

I absolutely love Cold Front. Their ice cream is just unparalelled. We typically visit after our traditional lunch at the Nook right next door with my husband and father in law, but we’ve brought friends and family here over the years and it’s never a miss. Their seasonal ice creams are always in point, today i had “witches brew” and it was delightful. My father in law always orders a shake and they customize it for him just the way he likes it, service is always friendly. I have always raved about this place and will continue raving about it. Best ice cream in the US!!! 😋😍

Even during winter Cold Front is a must stop! We got the warm brownie sundae and it was fantastic. The vanilla ice cream was really good along with the nice chewy brownie in the bottom. Topped with Carmel sauce, waffle cone pieces and whipped cream, it was just the finishing touch to make it an amazing treat.

My favorite neighborhood ice cream shop! They serve Chocolate Shoppe ice cream from Wisconsin and it is the perfect creamy-but-not-too-fatty tasting ice cream. The flavors switch out a lot so there is variety, but my favorite (The S#$t Just Got Serious) is always there. The owner and team are friendly and I always leave smiling!

I stumbled on Cold Front at just the right moment, and it was the vacation coffee I needed! The coffee was excellent, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff were kind and helpful! I will definitely make my way back the next time I visit the twin cities!! Highly recommend!

We really like this place. Decent ice cream, great value, great atmosphere. Frankly I'm surprised how not busy they've been the two times we've been in. It's a nice retro themed ice cream joint.

Sundaes are delicious! Service is great as well. Their ice creams are creamy and good quality.

If you want some local ice cream, Cold Front is the place to go! They have flavors that rotate seasonally. There’s seating inside and outside. Street parking only, but there’s plenty of spots.

this is a great little neighborhood shop that happens to be walking distance from me. the ice cream pies might just qualify as the best thing ever. you can get an affogato with any flavor. being right next door to a legendary dive diner doesn't hurt either.
only point of criticism i could offer is that the brand of ice cream they use is very sugary for my taste. but cut it with a shot of espresso & bob's your uncle.
(please bring back "burnt butterscotch" -- my all-time fave!)

Yum. Cold Front has a great selection of flavors, and they are conveniently located right next to The Nook! You can even get what is called a Snowball flight, which is essentially a flight of 4 mini cones so you can try multiple flavors. They will also split a single scoop, as their portions are generous. Try it out!

Normally, I don’t eat ice cream - but Cold Front is the exception to my rule.. it is amazing ice cream! And I am totally hooked!!!

One of my favorite places in the WORLD, let alone St. Paul! It's not just the drinks that are warm, or the ice cream that's cool. This little shop has an abundance of care and joy that make it a great place to visit. THE BEST cappuccinos for years on end. Get here pronto!

One of my favorite in St Paul.Their expresso affogoto is a must try I love it.They have variety of flavors to choose from.It’s also conveniently located beside Nook so I usually come here for dessert after dinner.The staff are very friendly and you can ask for recommendations they are also very patient incase you are new to this place.

Cold Front is the first place I think of when I want an ice cream treat. My favorite is the Affogato, a combination of espresso and ice cream. It's crafted with locally roasted beans from Backstory, in St. Paul. The best combo I have discovered is the Burnt Brown Sugar ice cream with espresso, but classic vanilla is also excellent. Parking is easily available along the side streets. There are a few outdoor tables during warmer months of the year.

This little place with out standing employees has the best cotton candy ice cream!! It’s not there every week tho which is good because all the flavors are delicious!!!

Wonderful ice cream and sodas. Really a great experience and a very nice shop. I will say the cones are just normal cones which isn’t a bad thing but everything else was great

Great coffee shop, great ice cream shop! One of my favorite things was when I had kids in car seats and I could text my order for curbside payment/delivery. Staff are very friendly too.
