Ernie's on Gull

Beautiful location with fantastic views.

Some pretty fun menu items featuring seasonally appropriate choices.
Service has always been appropriate.

Pretty good wine list, house special cocktails and a fair draft selection.

Prices aren’t the best, but I factor in the quality of atmosphere.

Easily the best spot on the lake. Laid back vibe with great food, solid drink list, and a prime atmosphere. The food is far better than the pizza joint on the other end of the lake, and more reasonably priced than a “supper club” - the walleye tacos are always a great choice. Plenty of seating inside and out, both offering great service. Worth the drive - highly recommended.

Had a very nice experience at Ernie's on Gull Lake. Had a very tasty shaved prime rib sandwich with curly fries as an entree. Sandwich on a ciabatta roll with the prime rib having a slight crispy edge. Au Jus was great for dipping. My guests also enjoyed their meals as well. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. With Ernie's situated on Gull Lake the view is spectacular and can envision being out on the patio during a summer evening. Would highly recommend Ernie's when touring the Brainerd lakes area.

Our family of six (kids age 8 to 17) ate here after a long day of fun in Brainerd. It was very busy on a Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm. We waited about 45 minutes for a table on the patio. While we waited, we ordered drinks and relaxed at a picnic table and Adirondack chairs by the water. Our 8 year old enjoyed the swing set and volleyball. The food was excellent. We had burgers, sandwiches and chicken strips. The service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely go back if we are ever in the area again!

One of my favorite places in the area. The menu changes often, but there's always something good for about any taste. The fish tacos seem to be always on the menu and are phenomenal. They usually have a melted cheese in a cast iron appetizer that is delicious. You can't go wrong with the burgers either. If you're out on Gull lake boating, you can tie off on their dock and walk right up.

While staying at Grand View Lodge, there are so many different places close to eat. After scrolling for way too long, we decided on Ernie's. Good choice. The shrimp app in the butter broth was so much better than we imagined. served with crusty bread and lemon wedges of course. At a $19 price point, value is off the charts.

The broth alone is worth a trip back.

We all loved our entree's as well. Server was great.

Visiting from out of town and made a point to try a new place. The place has a pretty relaxed vibe, and the menu has some interesting selections. The baked Havarti was wonderful, as were the shrimp tacos. And you can't beat a view of the lake while dining.

Too long of a wait for restaurant patio so we ordered from the bar menu at sunset and just made the 8pm cut off and found a picnic table. Food was quick, fries were kind of a weird potato skin thing but there were a lot of them, fish tacos were good, burger was basic, view was spectacular, refill your own sodas.

Good service, fun atmosphere, and awesome-tasting food Everything was perfect for the five of us. Congratulations, Ernies! That's tough to do.

Had such a wonderful breakfast here! The coffee was hot and delicious and I had an incredible breakfast burger! Yum! Just what I needed after having too much fun the night before. Our server was wonderful and attentive. Such a perfect brunch!

Great place! I tried a shrimp bucket for the first time. At Ernie's the shrimp buckets still have their shells on but not their heads. I didn't know the shrimp would still have legs. But it's okay, peeling the shells removes the legs along with it.

The bucket comes with a pool of delicious butter at the buckets bottom. It stays hot for a long time. For example, I kept finding more and more shrino hidden in the butter pool and it was hot to touch! Good for dipping the side of bread into. (The bread comes with pads of butter)

Ernie's had two desserts when I came. Key Lie pie and Tiger cake. (Chocolate and vanilla layer cake with chocolate ganache in between) The cake was a little dry but still good.

Only cons to me was the straws came already in the drink unwrapped but that's my OCD.

Almost forgot to mention I had Lobster bisque. That was tasty too! Comes with oyster crackers.

Stacey was our sever and she did awesome!!! It was super busy when I came but the food came out rather quick. Thanks Stacey!

Very laid back and unassuming with AMAZING food and great lake views. We came in a seafood mood and were not disappointed! We shared the seafood platter appetizer (OMG!), and had the crab stuffed lobster and shrimp tacos. Everything was so good and very affordable. Will definitely be back whenever we are in the area.

Went on a Tuesday evening it was quiet. Too cook to sit outside, had a table inside with view of the Lake. Service and food were excellent. Had almond crusted walleye and peppercorn crusted steak. Both cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. Lobster Bisque and Wild Rice soup were good as well.

I enjoyed the( New york)pastrami, muester cheese, caramelized onion, mustard,pickles. Very good

Fun place with good views of the lake. Good food and drinks. Spent 2 afternoons here while on vacation. Very relaxing. Staff and food top notch.

This is one of the best lake restaurants in the Brainerd area! Beautiful lake views, Up North atmosphere and over 100 years of history. I had the walleye sandwich and it is the best fish sandwich I have ever had!

Wonderful meal. For starters the Szechuan Brussel Sprouts were phenomenal. Just the right amount of heat and delicious. The New Yorker pastrami handheld sandwich was 2nd to none. Creative menu that tantalizes the tastebuds.

Was in the area for work from WI and this is definitely an awesome stop for some sun and great food. My favorite was the brisket nachos. Wish I could easily get back!! :( Great patio and friendly service.

Beautiful view. Great food, best onion rings I have had in a long time. Service was exceptional - haven't had that good of service in a long time!
