There have been a lot of efforts to improve in all areas. Supportive supervisors and staff that help one another. Environment is more cohesive and people work together and respect one another. Salary and benefits are good. It's a great place to get experience and knowledge I. The mental health field. Would highly recommend as a place to work. Staff care and it shows in the care they provide.

It has taken FOREVER to find a good, listening respectful psychiatrist. I found that with Dr. Bagga, he is an extraordinary gentleman and Dr and I am very grateful for his work. If you are lucky enough to get into CMH, I highly recommend the opportunity.

A word of caution for parents kids needing psychiatric services... They only have a telehealth pediatric psychiatrist in Puerto Rico. Which can be convenient. However, staff can only send emails to her and do not actually have a phone number to reach her, which is a little weird. The huge concern is thaf Dr. Romero hasn't ordered any routine labs for my kids in YEARS, despite prescribing them seriously heavy psychiatric meds (Risperdal, to name one) that absolutely should be monitored by lab work, especially for a child with preexisting conditions. I would highly suggest finding a good pediatrician willing to physically assess and order lab work routinely. There really should be a house pediatric psych, but mental health professionals are difficult to come by and sometimes you just have to compensate to balance everything and make sure your child is receiving adequate care. Advocating for your child is made a lot easier with the caseworkers, secretaries, and other staff there that are amazing. I have only had one negative experience with a caseworker and we were contacted and assigned a different caseworker immediately. My family have been patients there for over 14 years and I can't imagine not having this resource! The on-site staff are truly awesome and you can tell they really love their jobs and care about the consumers. Phone calls are returned promptly, record releases are processed fast...i mean, you can't go wrong! I honestly can't say enough good things!

Given what I'm going through to end up here, a few rude comments or unpleasant sights is the least of my concern.

I honestly explained my position and what I wanted.
They provided me much of what I needed.
They provided me more than I thought possible.
They did their job.

Yes they are extremely understaffed and underpaid. But if it weren't for the individuals that care about the consumers and help them- I would be so lost. So yes I've had a few bad experiences, but over all has helped myself and my child tremendously.

The process is very slow seeing a doctor when you are really sick this is very irritating. Feel like I'm about to die waiting to see a doctor!!

Pasha Streeter is not a knowledgeable choice. Constant mistakes rude comments not able to admit something she did HURT YOU PHYSICALLY. Will totally gaslight you and make it your fault. She us a nurse practitioner not a doctor. She'll constantly forget to refill your meds. Causing you to call every month to the nurses to get whatever med she forget that month. She will tell you she doesn't have to utilize titration to take you off meds if you made the decision to stop a med sending you into withdrawal symptoms. This tells me she does not care what you are going through. I could go on. Bagga is ok but same forgets refills too often. You end meeting and have to recheck everyone apparently. My first meeting with Dr Cushman was much better she is i definitely jive with her better and look forward to working with her but same thing she forgot a med to be called in. Then nurse Kim t told me its there so I didn't believe the pharmacy. Turns out pharmacy was right. Nurse was wrong. (Not the first or even 12th time a nurse has given false information that led to more distress)I will not put up with this a 3rd time. I will follow through with Cushman but if its going to be constant mistakes again. I will move on. I hope I don't have to cause I really had a awesome first impression from Cushman. I'm cautiously hopeful.

This is for the mental health authority that was called while we were in the hospital after my sister in law was taken to the er after she threatened herself and someone else with a knife. They made the decision that she did not fit criteria to be held and admitted into a facility all because she told the er doctors that she would not attack anyone or harm herself, and was calm. This is a joke of a criteria. How is threathening to kill someone while holding them at knife point not a way to make the criteria to be held for at least 24 hours somewhere? No wonder people get discharged from a hospital with mental health problems and then go home and hurt themselves or others. DO BETTER!!! Come up with some other criteria, than to send them home and tell the loved ones getting attacked that if it happens again to call the crisis line and they'll send someone out or have the person talk on the phone. Like someone attacking someone else is gonna stop to take a phone call or allow their victim the chance to make that phone call. What a joke!!

Vanessa Wallace is a JOKE.... if I could give 0/5, I would. It's clear this place will hire just anybody; I brought my brother here and she was his therapist for a short time, she told him to contact her if he was feeling suicidal, which he did, and in response she simply said "that must be hard", was completely distracted by other things, and even began eating while completely ignoring my brother who had just hurt himself and was on the edge of committing suicide. Only come here if you're not serious about your mental health and want to feel unimportant and like a burden!
