This is a fun way to spend some time. There is a ton of history in this building, including the building itself. There are a few fun hands-on things and posters up to the ceilings. The gentleman who was volunteering that day, whose name I unfortunately can not remember, was very knowledgeable, and it was obvious that he loved to share that knowledge.

I do want to add that the museum is in a very old two-story building. If stairs are difficult for you, please call the museum as I did not see an alternative (I use a cane). If I am wrong, please let me know so I can remove this paragraph. This did not affect my review in any way - I very much enjoyed myself 🙂

This was an amazing museum and if you love magic, this place is a must see destination. Admission fee is a steal for how much the museum holds. We were fortunate enough to even speak to one of the board members of the museum who took the time to answer our questions. Would highly recommend adding this to your bucket list!

Great for families! Being a professional magician myself, I of course loved every nook and cranny of this place. My kids are not normally impressed with magic because of my job they see it all the time... but they really enjoyed the museum and the stage to perform on. Also, the Houdini display is worth the price of admission to see such a piece of history. The staff was so very helpful and informative. I’m coming back.

I love this place. I was there the day it opened. It is my favorite place to perform magic shows. The staff is amazing and love sharing their knowledge. Our International Brotherhood of Magicians Neil Foster Ring 89 meets there monthly every 2nd Monday at 7pm. They have a Summer camp called Camp Abracadabra every July for kids ages 7 to 13 taught by famous Magician John Dudley. I am honored to be allowed to assist him there since 2021. Special events and camps you will want to buy tickets in advance. I alsi suggest being a member. Hope to see you there. Eric Sullivan, President of IBM Neil Foster Ring 89.

It was an awesome place to see with all the old magic that was used before. If you're into magic. This is the best place for you to see. The downtown area is beautiful as well.

This quirky little museum in this cute small town made for a fantastic stop! Go out of your way to check this out. The young girl who welcomed us gave an awesome overview of the place! #supportlocalbusiness

A fascinating tour of our magic entertainment history. And the commercial art that marketed it to us.

We really enjoyed the tour. The gal that led it was really knowledgeable and shared some great facts. Looking at the collection was interesting also. The show is at 1 every Saturday but we missed it this time. This is a hands OFF museum which can be tough for littles especially if you're standing listening to the tour.
I'd recommend an hour for the tour and viewing plus however long the show is. It doesn't take long to see it all. 🪄

Such a great collection! Well thought out and arranged. Employee was helpful and friendly. Do note that half of the collection is upstairs, reached by a flight of stairs.

I am a Houdini history scholar and have long wanted to visit this place and it didn't disappoint. In the winter you have to make an appointment but Sara, the administrator responded right away and was very helpful and accommodating. They have a fantastic collection in a beautiful space. If you get the guided tour it is worth it. I would highly recommend a visit to this place.

An amazing tour thru history, including props, posters, and mechanism to challenge (i.e. can you fit in a milk can for an escape)?

Well worth the time and cost. Do try to get a guide; the experience will be heightened.

Wonderful experience, so many fascinating magic items. When we arrived we were offered a guided tour at no additional cost. I highly recommend getting the tour. We learned so much more then we would have just looking around.

What an amazing little gem in the city of more hidden gems, Marshall, MI! I love magic and after hearing about this museum wanted to drive the 35 minutes to check it out. I went on a Thursday morning, right a open time, which meant that I was alone in the quite space to enjoy the wonderful collectibles. A lovely, well put together experience, it surely got me more excited about my amateur hobby. The $5 entry fee seems very fair and reasonable. Plan about a hour there and don't sell yourself short by speeding through.

Angelo and I went to American museum of magic. The volunteer was very pationate and gave us a tour. Many artifacts and posters. We were also informed the library behind the museum houses many articles of magic and magicians.

Not to capitalize on the word but this place is magical. To see the real posters, the real props, to be among the actual milk can Houdini escaped from! If you even like magic this place is amazing. If you are a magician it is nothing short of a necessary pilgrimage to visit this place. Highest possible recommendation.
