Fantastic vibe and food! Farm to table feel with a great menu. The pork ossobuco was tremendous. French onion purses are definitely a must-try. Will definitely be back!

Bread+Bar restaurant needs to be the top restaurant in Southwest Michigan (I only say Southwest Michigan because I haven't experienced all of Michigan restaurants). Located in Benton Harbor, Michigan, this rustic, magnificent restaurant is a place to dress causal or classy and eat some high-end delicious food. It's my favorite all time so far!

The food is second to none. You experience great taste with your eyes before taking a bite. The presentation and intention of these dishes are phenomenal. I also enjoyed the seasoning of the food. There is no need for salt and pepper as I noticed there wasn't any on the table. From start to finish, every meal was exciting to eat, and did not disappoint.

The service is impressive. We were blessed to be served by Ivy. She helped us through the menu, kept our water glasses full, served with a great smile, and gave an honest opinion on meals. Everyone else served well, too!

The atmosphere is beautiful. Lovely decor, awesome music, great table setup, clean environment, and lovely space to sit and enjoy before the meal. The bathrooms were awesome as well!

Our family went to dinner at Bread + Bar and were blown away by the delicious food, great ambience and top notch staff. We were looking for catering for our daughters upcoming wedding at our home and knew immediately that Bread+ Bar was what we were looking for! Chefs Matt and Justin arrived at our home ready to cook! They could not have been more accommodating to our requests and pleasant to work with. Our guests raved about the food, especially the mushroom risotto, locally sourced vegetables, Amish Chicken and “Nana’s meatballs” which are just like you’d expect they’d be, authentic and delicious! Don’t get me started on the artisan bread provided by “Bit of Swiss” the premier local bakery to compliment the meal, it was outstanding! The presentation of the food was equally noteworthy by the BB crew. I would not hesitate to have Bread + Bar cater any event, or even to have a private event in their beautiful restaurant. Not having a party? Just go have dinner at Bread + Bar, you will not be disappointed!

What a nice casual dining experience with great food. Love the small menu with unique flavor profiles executed very well.
The broth in the French Onion and the Chicken dish were excellent on a chilly night with nice flavors.
Only two options for dessert by the time we ordered due to some selling out, but that happens and not holding anything against them for that.
Highly recommend this restaurant if in the area.

They open at 4pm and the place has a down to earth vibe with candles on the tables and low lighting they have a small menu that has a delicious and a unique variety. The drinks are amazing as well.

Our experience here was Top notch. "That might have been the best wedge salad I've ever had." "You can't have anymore of these purses, the rest are mine." Just a few of the quotes from my partner to me. She LOVED the French Onion Purses so much I only had one. That's OK because I got to eat most of the delicious Swordfish Entree and Octopus Appetizer.

We had our rehearsal dinner here on their outdoor patio and we were blown away. Everyone had custom menus with our names on them, decorations were great, and there was never an empty glass or anyone wanting for anything as the service was top notch. Not to mention, the food was incredible with the French onion purses being a hit. Cannot recommend them enough!

One of the finest gastropubs I've dined in. Every single bite was perfection. The gnocchi were so soft they could have floated off the plate and their creamy sauce was balanced and light, the filet was flavorful and perfectly prepared, the pork shank mole special would have made Rick Bayless proud, the crème brulée tasted fresh and light with a perfectly caramelized crust. Lovely, competent, and patient service from our server. Our only suggestion would be to add 3 or 4 Islay scotch offerings to the bar menu. All in all a wonderful evening out!

We enjoyed a great meal at bread+bar. The atmosphere was warm, cozy and very comfortable. Our server was attentive and friendly. The roasted cauliflower was excellent as was the salmon and walleye fish fry. We will definitely be back.

Great food, great wine, great service. We had a wonderful waitress named Kayla i think, and she was so fantastic. Chef used appropriate amount of garlic! Would come again

It was my first time here. The food was delicious, and the desert was phenomenal. I'm not a huge fan of fish, but I figured I would try it, and it did not disappoint. They have a wide variety of wine, so if you enjoy wine, this would definitely be a place to check out.

We recently hosted a party for my parents 50th wedding anniversary here and it was wonderful! The space was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff was outstanding. Could not recommend this location more to host an event, but also to dine. All of the guests raved about the food - the highlights were the french onion purses, caesar salad (the croutons!), the walter's potatoes and the steak. Also, desserts of course!

What started as a search for a restaurant that would suffice, I ended up at Bread + Bar that, *knead*less to say, went above and beyond the *bar*. Our server Jessie absolutely made this experience one to remember. She is the kind of server you’d wish to have during any restaurant experience. We suggested wanting mocktails and she helped us decide on the perfect drink for our time here. We all were impressed with the drinks that were hand crafted and made with creativity from the bartender. Shout out to him.
Additionally, I’d like to make an understatement. The food was spectacular. The chefs did a wonderful job on all three dishes. My chicken was the absolute perfect texture and moisture.
The dessert also was wonderful. I have decided half a year in advance this is where my birthday dinner will be.

bread+bar is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a quality dining experience with excellent food and top tier service. Whether it’s a special event dinner, a private party, or a casual Wednesday night I am always greeted with smiles and feel well taken care of. Plus, you won’t go home hungry. Since its inception the ownership and staff have really upped the game and set the tone for restaurants in the area. I can’t recommend bread+bar enough! If you are looking for a great dining experience, look no further.

The lamb was tender and delicious. Paired with the cherry tomatoes and green olives made nice flavor combination. Old Fashion was nicely balanced. Cannot beat the happy hour prices. French onion purses are delicious little crunchy and soft pastry filled with the onion and cheese. Coconut cheese cake was nice but a little light on flavor for me. I was hoping for a more imaginative desert menu but all looked good. As good as it gets in area. Great atmosphere. Like the motif. Service was outstanding but we got the benefit of being there early. Place was full by the time we left. Definitely need reservation between 6 and 730.

Had the Flat Iron Steak and it was delicious. My wife had the Fish Fry and it was tasty with shoestring french fries. Very good cocktail menu to get you ready for a fun dinner at a cozy restaurant.

The food here is very eclectic. Many dishes are riffs on classics. I’ve been through the entire menu and it’s all very tasty. I highly recommend the food. The bartenders are excellent, my only minor quibble would be that the bar is not thoroughly stocked, for instance Benedictine is not available. But the bartender has always been very creative and willing to go off menu with me. One of my favorite restaurants in town.

Had a shuffle board to start. Amish Chicken was excellent. Everyone in the group loved their food. Everything in Bread+Bar is delicious.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in the area. Had a great time on Valentines day. The chef seems very personable and is checking every plate that leaves the kitchen. Great wine selection too.

Was pleasantly satisfied with my first visit here. The atmosphere was super nice, kind of a diner mixed with a bar. I went for lunch and had a sandwich on their pretzel bun. Best sandwich I've had in so long! Great service, great food. I'm definitely going back and would recommend to others too!
