Mt Carroll Cafe

Ordered chicken rice soup and a turkey club the first time I ordered and it was delicious. The soup was creamy.

Today I had the cheesy potato soup and grilled cheese. The soup was creamy and delicious. The potatoes were in bigger chunks, but not huge. Had great flavor. The grilled cheese was toasty. Fries came with my grilled cheese, but I didn't try them.

The waitress was quick and friendly. On top of drinks. The food came out quick.

My coworkers had chicken fingers and a blt.

Great place with great food at great prices. Me and the family order a few times a month here and have yet to be dissatisfied.

Decent selection of entrees and their sandwiches,wraps, and burgers are delicious. The fries are amazing, as well as the pickles. Friendly waitstaff and kitchen crew that always deliver the goods (extra sauces or anything have always been given).

The chicken strips and J sauce are as good or better than any I've had in the area.

They close up early (7pm) and offer pickup and dine in. They place is immaculately clean and inviting.

What a hidden gem! I love coming here anytime I visit the area. It is a local favorite. Delicious skillets, burgers, fish, etc… the broccoli and cheese soup is to do for. As well as the homemade onion rings, fries, and fried mushrooms. My personal favorite is the house skillet. The owner is a sweet, kind lady that works in the kitchen and knows all the locals. The wait staff are always fast and attentive. They also have healthy options as well. Huge portions for a really great price! Lunch is served after 11 am. Love this spot. Conveniently located downtown historic Mount Carroll.

Had a nice lunch. Locals eat here and staff is very friendly . Little none secret the shop next door is owned by the same owners and even though it's not open you can take the adjoining door from the restraint and shop I bought 2 swag lamps from the 60s for 20.00 [for both] total score ! The shop is filled with all Vintage items.

Very nice little cafe! The classic architecture on the outside of the building was really impressive, located in the historic section of town. The food was tasty and at a good price, and the staff were very polite....would definitely recommend!

Excellent food, above excellent, service personified iced tea grest ones grea rings like old times, prices great. Cash so use the stm inside if you are short.

Good food and fantastic service. We called to be sure they were open for dinner and although they were going to close a bit early that day they said they would stay open for us. I absolutely love small town service. My tenderloin sandwich was excellent and my son loved the fries. I highly recommend stopping by for a bite if you have the opportunity.

The food was very good! It's just what I was hoping for from a small town cafe. My Reuben sandwich was very good. The crispy fries were also very good. My wife enjoyed her veggie skillet and my daughter said that the chicken nuggets were her favorite. High praise from the little one.

Service was fast and friendly. Prices were very reasonable as well. Make sure to bring cash, but if you don't have any there is an ATM on site. Will definitely try to stop next time we pass through!

We met out of town friends . Our waitress, Sabrina, was hilarious. The food was great, served hot. Typical breakfast. Great service. We will go back again when we are in the area.

We enjoy stopping by the Cafe when passing through Mt. Carroll. The food is always tasty, and generous portions. Not one thing to complain about! Give it a try!

Always excellent food! It's diner food but many specials are completely homemade with love by Rita and not your standard fare. We love this place for a quiet meal and friendly service with my family.

i love the raspberry ice tea, it’s my fav. i also love the turkey bacon and pancakes, they are basically heaven. and also it’s such a fun place/spot to hang out and talk with friends. so overall i recommend, 10/10.
